London International Hiking and Outdoor Activities Community
This groups is to bring hiking enthusiasts together for glorious days in the beautiful British countryside, usually within easy reach of London. Like a lot of people who live in London, we are bunch of international people and would like to welcome any hiking enthusiast from any national, cultural, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation background to our group. We have plenty of experience in guiding walks in the countryside. In addition to common routes, which are available online, we also design our own routes at times. Everybody is welcome but we have one important criteria to set our group apart from others... and that is **to be able to keep an average (18-20 minutes per mile) to brisk (16-17 minutes per mile) pace\* throughout the walk**. Please see below for guidance on pace. There are groups for fast walkers and groups for slow to average walkers. We are neither. This is a group for average to brisk walking people. In addition to this criteria, we expect the usual civil behavior any social group expects such as being kind, considerate, accountable, ability to take responsibility for yourself. This is mainly a hiking group but we are planning to organise other type of activities at times like cycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing, camping, cross country skiing. Looking forward to meet you at one of our walks... Eser & Maria. \*Pace... strolling >30 minutes per mile, slow 20-30 minutes per mile, average 18-20 minutes per mile, brisk 16-17 miles per hour, fast <=15 minutes per mile. This criteria may vary during long climbs or on uneven, muddy surfaces. [Want to be healthier? Pick up the pace of your walk.](https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/wellness/want-to-be-healthier-pick-up-the-pace-of-your-walk/2018/08/16/cc144492-a09f-11e8-8e87-c869fe70a721_story.html)

Sussex Bushcraft Group

Do you enjoy being outdoors, camping, cooking on an open fire? Well come and join us, learn new skills, share skills and enjoy the wonderful Sussex countryside.

Into The Woods Bushcraft  aims to give people access to the outdoors in a safe and friendly way so that they can gain skills and experience in outdoor living and the natural world. Based in Sussex, we have a dedicated site near Horsham where you can enjoy nature and learn new skills.

Bushcraft is a term often used to describe skills that allow us to live comfortably outdoors, using natural resources in a responsible and sustainable manner. Learning and practicing Bushcraft is an empowering experience especially for those of us that spend the majority of our times indoors.

Our group covers things like:

Basic Bushcraft - Fire lighting, ways of making flame including fire-by-friction, how to get potable water, shelter building, cooking, cordage, etc.

Living Outdoors - Camping, eating, use of tools, cleaning, basic first aid, etc.

Camp Craft - spoon carving, bowl carving, whittling, bark use, cordage, etc.

Navigation - Orienteering, finding your way using various methods; map & compass, GPS and natural navigation

Conservation - Nature conservation, sustainability, basic woodland management, etc.
