Cotswold Outdoor Adventurers (hiking-camping-sup-pub meets)
Welcome to Cotswold Adventures Outdoors. Over the past 6 months, this group has grown and developed into what it is now—previously known as North Gloucestershire and Severn Solo Adventurers. The core members feel that the name needs to represent the group and not be so confusing. The group's aim is to provide friendship and community, whilst having fun outdoors. Activities will include, Hiking and Walking, Standup Paddleboarding, Pub Meets, Camping Trips, comedy nights, and more... In 2024 my life had a dramatic change, I began a journey of doing more of what makes me happy. So I started this group, with the aim of doing more activities, and if individuals wanted to join me, then that is great, if not I'd still be having fun. All that is left for me to say is welcome to the group and I look forward to meeting you. **Below are some basic housekeeping group rules that you agree to by being part of this meet group. Should not need to mention these, so far everyone has been lovely and respectful, let us keep it that way.** 1. Members must have a current **headshot**. Those who become members have 48 hours to update their picture for the group. 2. Members must have a **given name**. Not their hobby, job, etc. 3. The group has a **3-strike rule** within **6 months.** A "no show" to an open event is 1 strike. A no-show to a numbered event is 2 strikes. 4. If a member turns up to an event they **did not RSVP** they are **removed.** 5. If you haven't been to an event in **6 months** you are removed. 6. Please do not **spam** the group, send **unsolicited messages** to **group members**, or **sexually harass** group members. **Spammers**, **senders of unsolicited messages, and harassers** will be **reported and removed and reported to the police. It is now a criminal offense to send unsolicited images and messages to individuals.** **Hiking Advice** 1\. WOW SINGLES WALKING & SOCIAL GROUP - GLOUCESTERSHIRE

Gloucester, E6

WOW SINGLES WALKING & SOCIAL GROUP - GLOUCESTERSHIRE

We are a social group of walkers who enjoy the countryside primarily on Sundays with a few summer midweek outings. Our walks are generally 4 - 7 miles and rated at an easy to moderate level - the detail is spelled out in each meetup description. Our walks are moderately paced. We welcome everyone who considers themselves to be single and pride ourselves in offering a warm welcome to all newbies. Well behaved dogs are welcome but are the responsibility of their owners. You are advised to bring a bottle of water, appropriate clothing and footwear for the conditions. Bring a snack or picnic for the midpoint stop - we do also dally occasionally to allow for photographs or to admire the view. Afterwards we tend to adjourn to a local hostelry for a drink and/or food which is entirely optional.

The emphasis is on having a pleasant day out, visiting interesting and beautiful places, meeting people and making friends rather than conquering summits or getting from A to B as quickly as possible. WOW, have a wonderful day out, meet new friends, share a joke and a laugh.

We ask for a small donation of £2 towards the website Fees and the Organisers expenses in planning the Walk, each time that you walk with us. The walk leader will always have recently walked over the route.

When you book on a Walk and are unable to attend, please change your RSVP on the site to free the place for another Walker or send the walk leader a text message on the day. The walk will proceed shortly after the published time and will not wait unless a message is received that you are in the vicinity when we will wait for a few minutes.

Most of our Walkers are in the age range of 40/50/60's.

Please also note:

1) That by signing up for this Group, you accept that you take part entirely at your own risk.

2) Where as organisers are facilitating activities, he or she will not be held legally or otherwise responsible for any accidents or other mishaps during any event. Life in general and particularly outdoor activities are never without risks. " Those who take part consent to the Risk involved" The Group has no liability insurance and by signing up for the Group you agree that you will make your own risk assessment of the conditions of location and the weather.

3) If you have any doubts about you abilities, the weather conditions or the terrain or the ground, you must discuss it with your Organiser before the start of the Walk.

4) Please advise your fellow Walkers as early as possible if you encounter difficulties during a Walk or if you see another Walker with problems.

We walk in rural areas and there is no Public Transport to the start of our Walks. You do need organise your own transport to get there.

Evesham Over 45's Meetup

Evesham, Q4

Evesham Over 45's Meetup
Thank you for taking a look at our Group. We have been going since 2014 and we differ from a lot of other Meetup groups in that our ethos is all about making friends and enjoying activities together. For that reason, we ask members to attend an event at least once every 6 to 8 weeks, so that everybody in the group is an 'active' member. We normally meet for coffee/drink and a chat twice month to discuss what we would like to do at future events, and we now have a really varied selection of things to choose from. Nobody is expected to come to everything - that's not realistic - but the more events you can come to, the better. As our members come from Pershore, Redditch, Tewkesbury and Evesham we put events on in these areas so there is always somewhere new to go, and we try to encourage members to 'host' events, although this isn't as daunting as you might think - (not much more than a head-count really) and we are always happy to do that for you if you don't want to! Anybody who is 45 or over is very welcome. If you feel this group is for you, please join us, and start visiting places that just aren't any fun on your own, with your new friends. We look forward to meeting you soon. At our first AGM in 2015 it was decided that all members must put a photo of themselves on the site, together with your first and surnames on your profile - this is a closed group, so non-members will not be able to see names or photos. If you have a strong objection to putting your full surname on, an initial may be acceptable under certain circumstances. Without both of these, you will be asked to add them before joining. You may also like to know that we all pay a £12.00 subs fee annually – payable after your second event/meeting where you can decide if the group is for you or not. Members that don't attend meetings for a period of 2 months or more will be taken off the active list but can re-join (space permitting) at a later date if they find they have more time to devote to the group. And finally... All activities are undertaken at the member's risk. No responsibility will be accepted by the group or its members for mishaps of any kind!

The group is free to join with no annual subscription fees, although we do charge a small hike fee to cover the costs of the group:- doing recces, MeetUp Fees and to ensure the group has appropriate insurance. Our experienced hike leaders are friendly, knowledgeable and care about your safety. We want you to a have a great experience. You can have great fun day out for less than the price of a coffee! As with any group, it's important that we set some simple rules in order to promote respect, to ensure the safety of yourself and and all members, so that we all enjoy the experience. So we ask members: - * Do you agree to be respectful to all members of the group? * That you understand that you may be turned away from a hike if you don't have appropriate kit for the conditions. * That you confirm you are over 18 years of age. * That you agree to take responsibility for your own health and appropriate fitness prior to joining an event. * It's important that your profile photo is a true likeness of you, so that you are recognisable. * If you can no longer make an event that you are due to attend, or are running late, its important that you keep the event host informed. This is respectful and courteous to the host and all other attendees. Once you have been out on a couple of hikes with us, you are welcome to join our Facebook site where you can also share your H&GM adventures with the group.
