Free Meditation & Yoga Worcestershire

Worcester, Q4

Free Meditation & Yoga Worcestershire
The group was started to invite all those who might be interested in learning to meditate and for those who actually want to achieve Yoga. Many are curious as to what meditation or yoga actually is and what's it all about? The meetings aim to provide that insight and know how. The charity offers free bespoke classes that are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is quite effortless and spontaneous. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a state of yoga, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. Sahaja Yoga free meditation classes help attendees to achieve a deep state of peace and spiritual awareness in life. Try Sahaja Yoga meditation classes and see for yourself the improvement to your mental, physical and emotional state. Learn and experience… \- Simple meditation techniques\. \- Guided meditations to help reduce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation\. \- Tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home\. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and balancing the subtle body. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with no mental activity or thoughts about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a natural state of being.

Have Fun Get Fit - Worcester Walking Group

Worcester, Q4

Have Fun Get Fit - Worcester Walking Group

Hello and welcome to 'HFGF'! ~ ~ We've always been a easy-going way to meet other friendly people for fun and a chat while improving your fitness on what's most often a 5-and-a-bit mile walk. Until earlier in 2020 we'd customarily get our fix of fresh air on a Tuesday morning beside canals and rivers, in parks and out in the countryside, sometimes with a tea or coffee along the way; plus there'd usually be optional extra time spent at a café or pub afterwards as a bonus!

We'd frequently have several friendly and enthusiastic dogs with us, accompanied by responsible owners to help them over/through/under stiles and keep them safe on farmland and roads.
Our walks are usually within 40 minutes' drive from Worcester in all directions, and they're often closer.
I look forward to the day when much of this free-wheeling friendly activity can resume and we can enjoy having you come and join us while we're out exploring the landscape and appreciating each other's company. But right now - after a long break for everyone's safety and a reassessment of what HFGF can offer - there's an opportunity for members to register that they'd like to join in with a flexibly arranged small-group walking meetup whenever a suitable one allows me to invite them. **My introductory message about it is copied for you below, and you can message me to request your link to register [as this is a public page].

~ I've always asked for a contribution on the day for my planning efforts and Meetup.com Organizer costs (previously just a £1, but I'll need to review that subject to the feelings of small-group participants). ~
** MESSAGE >> HFGF IS WAKING UP

Dear long-suffering good people,

It’s been several centuries since you’ve heard from me, and for that I really am sorry.
Dealing with the extended absence of face-to-face contact with all you so very many most affable human beans turned out to be more disorientating than I ever anticipated, and planning ahead for HFGF really difficult. But if extraordinarily your patience hasn’t run out I’d like to offer you a new option for meeting up. Note that you can jump down from here to What You Actually Want To Know, or feast your eyes on …
… The View From Here
For several weeks leading into March (and just before the world went even more peculiar than it has been anyway for about the last four years) our meetups were clocking wondrous attendances in the twenties and trending upward. This despite my efforts to keep a lid on your enthusiasm by keeping you guessing when the walk might actually get under way, then if/how/when it might actually finish; devising routes through flooded byways, with memorable muds and notable gradients (often interestingly combined); incorporating one or two dignity-challenging obstacles to grapple upon/through/around; even ignoring the odd critical turn-off and getting us lost. Still folks insisted on turning up.
Walking in a group of that size can be a hoot, but it’s also limiting with regard to things like parking, serial stile-clambering, and walker-herding. So I’d already been ruminating on my options …… when life as we knew it did a high-altitude back flip from which it still hasn’t actually landed.
Since then some of you have met up with each other on your own initiative and according to your own judgment. Some haven’t had such an opportunity, and those in higher-risk groups haven’t had any choice in the matter.
There's been a lot of muddle and debate around running meetups under changing rules and laws.
I prefer to come at this from the other direction. Any perceived need to shoe-horn public meetups of more than six people into an exempted case under the current safety restrictions won’t change the fact that the virus doesn’t care about exemptions.
The data coming from everyone currently tracking the virus seems clear and ominous to me; so right now I think we should apply the six person limit whenever possible as we interact with each other, all the more so from the point of view of someone responsible for instigating group activity.
This of course exacerbates our group’s previous attendance-frenzy problem by making us accommodate fewer per meetup than we’d ideally like instead of too many. It is dreadfully frustrating.
So …
What You Actually Want To Know
Given all the foregoing, I’m offering some small-group walking meetups
• with five other HFGF members joining me at a time
• potentially on any day of the week
• prioritizing previous HFGF attendees, but including actively interested new members
• with attendance by invitation calculated as helpfully and fairly as possible (by a process outlined below)
According to the level of interest, some waiting will regrettably still have to be part of the system (though hopefully worth it).
To whatever extent is practicable with the number of esteemed members who log your interest via the online form provided I‘d like to match meetups to participants and prioritise those members for an invitation. There are 13 simple answers needed + 4 optional extra bits.
The balancing act will take into account time waiting to attend and personal availability and preferences, primarily by technical sorting, only then descending as far as necessary into magic and divination.
I’ll need to work with some relevant information from you, with updates from you whenever you want to do so. For your reassurance I’m the only person who’ll see any of this, and it’ll be stored where only I can access it.
Like so many of you I’d absolutely prefer to see everyone again a.s.a.p. Maybe we can move in that approximate direction within the sensible constraints for safety. Please message me [as this is a public page] to request your link to register.
Thank you all for your support and general delightfulness.

Self-healing, energy medicine and EFT tapping (Worcester)

Worcester, Q4

Self-healing, energy medicine and EFT tapping (Worcester)

This is a new sister group to the well established Self-Healing, energy medicine and EFT tapping (Surbiton) meetup group which I am forming to build an active social network of those interested in a variety of effective self-help techniques in and near Worcester, as I will be soon be spending more time here.

I have nearly 20 year's experience of complementary therapies and a passion to pass on the techniques that WORK and that you can do for YOURSELF to improve your health, increase happiness and generally feel a whole load more self-empowered!

I organise small, friendly and highly educational but also entertaining gatherings, suitable for complementary therapists and total novices alike!

Some of these will be largely based on EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique...also known as 'Tapping'). It's an astonishingly quick and easy way to diffuse stress and anxiety, let go of phobias or past upsets, and rebuild confidence by tapping on acupuncture points and (my personal addition, from my earlier studies of FasterEFT) anchoring a good, peaceful feeling to end each 'round' of tapping.

Others will look at different simple but effective ways to balance your energy, including the exercises of Donna Eden, and ways of using energy (muscle) testing as an indicator to pinpoint what's stressing the body, including beliefs, situations, and food sensitivities...and how these can be corrected using energy exercises and/or EFT.

Some of the meetups will be 'themed' such as focussing on Relationships, Weight and body image, stress and anxiety, Pain and healing, Food sensitivities etc., some will be general where we will use a sequence of energy exercises, then EFT and end with a meditation to access healing on multiple levels. I am a life-long lucid dreamer and have also started exploring the Out of Body state and will occasionally hold a meetup to teach how to dream lucidly, and then the incredible range of possibilities of what can be done with lucid dreaming :) . Once the group is well established I will also invite guest speakers.

I am qualified in Kinesiology, Jin Shin Acupressure, Reiki, I was one of the first FasterEFT practitioners in the UK but have re-direced my focus to EFT, Matrix Re-imprinting, and Donna Eden's Energy Medicine, which I find a far be. I studied Matrix Energetics to practitioner level (but have not yet rcertified) and I love drawing on aspects of all of these and more to create a safe, encouraging but also relaxed and light-hearted space in which to find out more about energetic approaches to health and well-being and meet like-minded souls.

I will sometimes include a brief meditation, but no religious or spiritual beliefs are required, I tend to just ask people to drop their attention into the area where their heart is and focus on love :) .

More details will appear shortly but in the meantime if you wish to see the sort of topics and our feedback please see:
http://www.meetup.com/Faster-EFT-London/

Evesham Over 45's Meetup

Evesham, Q4

Evesham Over 45's Meetup
Thank you for taking a look at our Group. We have been going since 2014 and we differ from a lot of other Meetup groups in that our ethos is all about making friends and enjoying activities together. For that reason, we ask members to attend an event at least once every 6 to 8 weeks, so that everybody in the group is an 'active' member. We normally meet for coffee/drink and a chat twice month to discuss what we would like to do at future events, and we now have a really varied selection of things to choose from. Nobody is expected to come to everything - that's not realistic - but the more events you can come to, the better. As our members come from Pershore, Redditch, Tewkesbury and Evesham we put events on in these areas so there is always somewhere new to go, and we try to encourage members to 'host' events, although this isn't as daunting as you might think - (not much more than a head-count really) and we are always happy to do that for you if you don't want to! Anybody who is 45 or over is very welcome. If you feel this group is for you, please join us, and start visiting places that just aren't any fun on your own, with your new friends. We look forward to meeting you soon. At our first AGM in 2015 it was decided that all members must put a photo of themselves on the site, together with your first and surnames on your profile - this is a closed group, so non-members will not be able to see names or photos. If you have a strong objection to putting your full surname on, an initial may be acceptable under certain circumstances. Without both of these, you will be asked to add them before joining. You may also like to know that we all pay a £12.00 subs fee annually – payable after your second event/meeting where you can decide if the group is for you or not. Members that don't attend meetings for a period of 2 months or more will be taken off the active list but can re-join (space permitting) at a later date if they find they have more time to devote to the group. And finally... All activities are undertaken at the member's risk. No responsibility will be accepted by the group or its members for mishaps of any kind!

Six Legged Walks around Ledbury

Ledbury, F7

Six Legged Walks around Ledbury
This Meetup group is for well socialised dogs who want to bring their humans on a lovely hike in the Herefordshire, Gloucestershire or Worcestershire countryside. We’ll meet 2 or 3 times a month for energetic hikes of varying distances and they will usually involve a hill or two! The group is a voluntary amateur social group (your Meetup membership terms include a release of liability for group organisers) hence you are solely responsible for the safety and actions of yourself and your dogs and are expected to respect other group members, land and livestock, and other users of the areas we visit. Due to Meetup doubling their fees I've introduced a £5 joining fee and an annual £5 membership fee due every January. Anyone joining October to December won't be expected to pay the annual fee for their first year. This goes towards paying the meetup subscription cost and any surplus may be used towards other group activities or donated to dog charities. No one will earn any income from the group. So if you enjoy a good hike with your dog, discovering new routes and would like to meet other friendly dogs and their owners then please join us. (The group is for dog owners only plus one guest and membership numbers limited so that there is a good chance of meeting the same people and dogs repeatedly to encourage friendships. Any inactive members, or those who repeatedly cancel, will be politely but firmly removed to make way for anyone who may be waiting to join!)

Connect Singles a Social and Walking Group 40+

Redditch, Q4

Connect Singles a Social and Walking Group 40+
Connect is an established group with members in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and The West Midlands. We meet in different locations every Sunday morning for a walk of 4 to 5 miles finishing with a drink in a pub. We also have a monthly evening pub meal and other social events. We are all volunteers and ALL ACTIVITIES ARE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Organisers and Event hosts are not responsible for any injuries however caused. Connect is a friendship group for single people. It is not a dating or introduction agency. Connect is an association which gives single people the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of activity with others .It is a successor to the nationwide group Nexus whose aspirations were to share with friends a rich, varied and rewarding life. Members suggest and organise activities voluntarily. We have enjoyed meals, cinema, theatre, days out, National Trust visits, weekends away, boat trips and other varied activities. New members must be single but those who become established in relationships remain members. We are always welcoming to new members. Most of our members live alone and guard their privacy so we respect their concerns and do not make telephone numbers, addresses etc. openly available. We are also sensitive that photos of members should not appear openly on social networking without their permission. Our walks are mostly in the countryside. Between 4 and 6 miles in length led by different members each week. It is a great way to exercise, chat, make new friends and enjoy lovely scenery. Afterwards most of us relax with a drink in a local pub or an outdoor picnic. We do not charge to join our group but we do have to pay to use the Meet up site. Occasionally we will ask for voluntary donations of £10 towards these costs. .

Vale of Evesham Coworking Group

Evesham, Q4

Vale of Evesham Coworking Group
A small number of us in the local area have been meeting up to work remotely together and finding it helpful for productivity and use it as an opportunity to change things up from always working at the same few locations. This Meetup group is being set up to help test the water on bringing together other like minded individuals in the Vale of Evesham and surrounding areas who might like to get involved in something similar to the above. We imagine this group will be suited to anyone who would like to work alongside others that is not currently getting to as much as they might like. It could also be suited to individuals who are open minded enough to try something new that might be an improvement to their working day or working environment in some way. We are intending to arrange meet up events of usually around a couple of hours or so in locations where people will be able to meet, catch up and have a focused effort on something work related that they need to get done. The types of location you can expect events to be held at are coffee shops, coworking spaces, community centres or other business premises. There may also be some events that are run remotely and depending on the group that forms there could also be social activities that fit in to a lunch time or after work slot. All events could be an opportunity for anyone to network and find others they might be able to collaborate with if they are interested in that. The group is free to join but it's worth being aware that there is a monthly cost to setting up and running a Meetup group. Depending on how things go we might invite donations, look for sponsorship or see what members think to contributing in some way. The areas we've mainly worked in so far have been Evesham, Pershore and Droitwich but some of us have also met up with others in areas such as Cheltenham and Worcester. Other locations further afield may be of interest and we'll always be open to suggestions.
