This meetup group is specially created for new individuals aged 50 and above who share the same interests and would enjoy the company and being part of a friendly group. Join us for fun-filled activities that bring people together such as nights out, cinema, eating out, walks, pub quizzes etc. We are here to foster new connections and create lasting friendships and come together as life is for living! We ask that you are OVER 50 and on joining please add a CLEAR PROFILE PICTURE OF YOURSELF ONLY as we need to know what you look like on attending events 😁 (not ones where you are a dot in the distance or with someone else just YOU please 🥴!) Members will be encouraged to share ideas, host events they are interested and in general help as we would like to grow our organizational team in the future. We can't be everyone's cup of tea but we can still make people welcome and part of the group regardless! No dogs on walks and anyone undertaking an event or activity are all taken are your own risk as we cannot be held responsible for any mishaps. Membership fees will be due in December for those wishing to be an active member to cover the cost of admin fees. Any excess monies will be given to charity. We are a friendly bunch of people, and organise a variety of social events such as:

Drinks, meals out

Activities eg. bowling, salsa

Board / card games in a pub

Walks

Live comedy, music, theatre

And once you get to know people there is the opportunity for more adventurous trips such as: escape rooms, paint balling, go ape... anything really!

In order to keep the group running on this site we do need to cover a subscription fee. We ask that you give £3 at your first event to the event organiser to pass on to me (Jen). Hopefully after this we should not need to ask for any more subscription fee, and you can carry on attending as many events as you like, and continue the friendships you have made.

Hi and welcome to 'Things To Do!' This group is for activities around Cardiff and the surrounding area, with walks, coffee's, regular meals priced to meet all pockets, special events and the odd sporting event thrown in too. Come along and meet new and old friends in a relaxed pleasant atmosphere. Attendance numbers for meals can be increased if there is a waitlist, and if the establishment can fit the request for extra places. **When joining the group, there is a membership fee of £4.00p for 6 months, or 12 months for the bargain price of £7.50p** 😉 Most dining events will require a £5 deposit to confirm your place, this charge will either be deducted from your bill at the end of the meal or returned to you in cash at the meal. The deposits will not be refunded if you fail to turn up, or your attendance is cancelled within 24hrs of the event, members on waitlists must be allowed time to book onto events, this is less likely if people book off on the day or day before. If you find you are unable to attend, then the deposit will be paid back to you, if someone on the waitlist for that event takes your place. This is also dependent on the restaurant requiring a deposit to confirm the booking. This group is for ages 30 to infinity. Cardiff didn't have one, it has one now; regular meetups at two levels of engagement: 1) a light chat on any given subject or 2) something that requires a bit of homework to ensure a deeper more informed level of conversation.

- A great place for philosophy chat and debate such as Nietzsche's God is Dead.

- Interested less in the mainstream, with a particular focus on moral philosophy. 

- Sharing intellectual resources such philosophers' works.

Everybody's welcome. You don't need to be a very active participant, sometimes simply listening is all one wants to do. Hearing other people's views and ideas on any given subject is a great way to challenge and hone one's own.
