My name is Lupe, I've been living with Sjogren's for 10+ years, most recently I was also diagnosed with Hashimotos. Sjogren's is an autoimmune, that among other things, attacks your moisture producing cells, causing painful inflammation, heat intolerance, dry mouth, dry eyes - dry EVERYTHING!

My main complaint is extreme fatigue and joint pain, mornings are the worse. Waking up feeling like you have the flu, everyday, is NOT fun! But my symptoms get better as the day goes on. Exercising, stretching and walking helps so much!

My husband, Brian and I took a photography class at Orange Coast College attended a school function, at the Huntington Library in Pasadena and it was HOT!

We were at the Japanese Garden and all of a sudden, I got so overheated, I felt like I couldn't breath. I panicked, started crying and like a wounded animal segregated myself, seeking shade and water. I didn't want my classmates to see what I was going through. But most importantly, I was embarrassed of being judged and I didn't want them to be upset at me for slowing them down.

Long story short, my husband Brian noticed I was missing and set out to find me, helped cool me down and got me through the day! No one was the wiser.

However, we know the importance of exercising and being active. But we also understand the challenges one faces when living with a chronic condition.

So, we started this meetup to build community, encourage others to be active and engage with others living with a chronic condition in a supportive manner.

No need to feel embarrassed or fear being judged by others in this group!

OC Snowboarders and Outdoor Adventures

Let's go outdoors. Snowboard and ski in the winter and hiking and camping in the summer. Are you adventures and looking for friends to do various outdoor activities with. We are too. We started as a snowboarding group but have now ventured into outdoor adventures and more! We love winter sports and enjoy summer adventures as well. When there is snow, we hit up the slopes. In warmer months, we keep up the fun through hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and other outdoor adventures as well as game nights and other fun stuff.

If you don't snowboard or ski, want to learn or enjoy outdoor adventures, we welcome you too!

*We snowboard and/or ski in Mammoth. If not Mammoth, we do local trip such as Mt. Baldy and Big Bear Mountain (Snow Summit and Bear Mountain). Lazy Ass Hiking

Lazy Ass Hiking is a hiking and outdoor group based in the Inland Empire area of Southern California. Although we do many slower paced hikes, walks, and bike rides in or near the Inland Empire area, we often feature longer, more challenging, and more distant hikes and rides throughout the SoCal area. Everything from a walk in the park to climbing Mt. Whitney is fair game at Lazy Ass.

Please note that the Lazy Ass name is not a reference to being out of shape, but rather a preference for taking it a bit slower. We actually don't mind a little huffing and puffing on the trails and bike paths, or even a little boulder hopping and scrambling, but we're definitely not in a race and we don't particularly like to start hikes at the crack of dawn.

We have fun and welcome you to join our group with the understanding that hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities are inherently dangerous and potentially even deadly. By joining the group or participating in any Lazy Ass Hiking event, you agree to hold the organizers, event hosts and members harmless from any loss, damage, or liability that may occur during the event or while in transit to and from the event.
