Membership: **In order to be accepted as a member of Beach Cities Active, your profile needs to show a clear photo of your face and you need to include your full name. Alternatively, you can privately message me you last name.** Events: To attend any Beach Cities Active Event, you must r.s.v.p. for each event each week. If you want to bring a friend, have them become a member of Beach Cities Active and have them rsvp as well. If you are attending an event for the first time, you need to arrive early or on time as I will not necessarily be available to provide much guidance once an event has started. If you cannot arrive early or on time to your 1st event, then please text me at (310) 809-2011 the day before the event so I can go over the basics with you. If you are unable to make an outing, please update your rsvp; do not text me unless you are running late for a SUP/Kayak/Cycle outing. Three no shows and you will be dropped from the group. Our events are not appropriate for minors, so please leave the kiddos with a sitter. Goal: Have fun & be social! We love stand up paddle boarding / kayaking, cycling, Pickleball , live music, art and backyard barbecues & parties. Outdoor activities are moderate to fast paced. You do need to stretch out before all outdoor activities which include rests to take photos & have water. Some events are followed by more social time at local eateries. In order to broaden our geographic reach and offer even more activities, Beach Cities Active frequently invites other meetup groups to cross post their events to our page so if you want to know how many are attending, do visit the page of the organizer who posted the event. We believe that constructive feedback from our members is the lifeblood of the our group. As such, members are encouraged to suggest ideas for new activities or ways to make our existing activities even better. When you join, please let us know your best availability for activities & which activities most interest you. Also let us know if you are interested in co-leading a group To ensure the health of our members, we do request that you be fully vaccinated & fully boosted; no exceptions. Outdoor Girlfriends (SGV)
Join the OGs (Outdoor Girlfriends), a community of open-and like-minded women who enjoy staying active and exploring the great outdoors. OGs is a place to meet new friends, learn and be inspired among other amazing women! Let's be present, mindful and enjoy the journey, rather than just reaching the destination. This group is for women of all backgrounds, races, colors, creeds, and status. What we'll do: Plenty of easy to moderate hikes, plus lunches, potlucks, museum visits, bike rides, beach days, volleyball, etc. Always open to new ideas! Events will mostly be in the San Gabriel Valley, but also LA & OC areas. ***Before joining, please read a few guidelines below.*** **ATTENDANCE:** Be respectful of the organizer and group. If plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as possible and notify the event organizer as a courtesy. Flaking to an event, especially with a wait-list, or changing your RSVP at the last minute means someone else does not have the opportunity to join. If you are a no-show more than 2 times without at least letting the organizer(s) know, you may be suspended or removed from the group. A lot of work is put into organizing events and we ask for your consideration in return. **HIKES** Hikes will range from easy (<5 miles, <2000’ gain) to moderate (5-10 miles, 2000-3500’ gain), with an occasional strenuous hike (10+ miles, >3500’ gain). Pace will be 2-3 mph (average). There’s time for pictures on the trails, but please be aware of your fitness level and considerate of the time so everyone could have a good experience and complete the hike within the allotted time. **CARPOOLING:** Feel free to reach out to other attendees if you are willing to give a carpool or need a carpool. If you decide to ride with someone, please be kind enough to share with the driver a gallon or two worth for their trouble and gas. **PHOTO:** Please have a clear photo of yourself on your profile so we could identify you. **DISCLAIMER:** The sole role of the organizer is to organize the event. They are not responsible for anyone’s safety or any incident before, during, or after the event. Participants fully understand the risks, dangers, and hazards associated with any outdoor activity, and freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers and hazards. Participants also further agree to release and discharge all Organizers of the Outdoor Girlfriends Meetup Group from and against any and all liability arising from you and your guest’s participation in the group activities. **Let’s have fun!**

Fun OC Females for Outdoor Events

Huntington Beach, CA

Fun OC Females for Outdoor Events
Love to enjoy the year round great weather in SoCal and opportunities it provides for having fun dancing, drinking, eating, listening to music, watching live shows, and making new friends in the fresh air instead of indoors? Then this is the group for you... Want to work off calories with Hiking, Biking, Paddling SUPs, Snowboarding, Boating, Beach days, Ziplining, etc? Still the right group for you... Like good food and wine, beer, cocktails, etc. but are past the stage of always needing a friend to hold your hair back at the end of the night? Yup, right group.... Still have a healthy sense of humor and believe in seeing the bright side and finding the funny in situations? Hell YES! You have found your people. :) Basically, if you are fun, outgoing and love doing tons of things outdoors but would like a few more friends to do them with THIS IS THE GROUP! We'll also go on day hikes, paddle SUPs, do bike rides, go snowboarding, etc. And of course, a break for an adult beverage is likely to be involved as well... Other possibilities: Pageant of the Masters, Long Beach Grand Prix, trips to Catalina, Winery visits, Brewery events, Holiday Celebrations, Restaurant Specials, Food festivals, etc. As long as something is outside, it's fair game for a good time! Suggestions from members are highly encouraged! The end goal is to make some great new friends to do things you love with- safely outside and drama free. No firm age range, just be mature enough to have a fabulous time while also being responsible and reliable. Ask questions, do research if needed, come prepared, on time and ready to have fun! Chronically Active

Irvine, CA

Chronically Active

Welcome!!

This group is for those who want to remain active with others that understand the challenges of dealing with a chronic condition.
My name is Lupe, I've been living with Sjogren's for 10+ years, most recently I was also diagnosed with Hashimotos. Sjogren's is an autoimmune, that among other things, attacks your moisture producing cells, causing painful inflammation, heat intolerance, dry mouth, dry eyes - dry EVERYTHING!

My main complaint is extreme fatigue and joint pain, mornings are the worse. Waking up feeling like you have the flu, everyday, is NOT fun! But my symptoms get better as the day goes on. Exercising, stretching and walking helps so much!

My husband, Brian and I took a photography class at Orange Coast College attended a school function, at the Huntington Library in Pasadena and it was HOT!

We were at the Japanese Garden and all of a sudden, I got so overheated, I felt like I couldn't breath. I panicked, started crying and like a wounded animal segregated myself, seeking shade and water. I didn't want my classmates to see what I was going through. But most importantly, I was embarrassed of being judged and I didn't want them to be upset at me for slowing them down.

Long story short, my husband Brian noticed I was missing and set out to find me, helped cool me down and got me through the day! No one was the wiser.

However, we know the importance of exercising and being active. But we also understand the challenges one faces when living with a chronic condition.

So, we started this meetup to build community, encourage others to be active and engage with others living with a chronic condition in a supportive manner.

No need to feel embarrassed or fear being judged by others in this group!
Our goal is to;

• Create Community; Hiking, Cycling, Walking, Beach, Photography, Museums, a little bit of everything, etc

• Promote and engage in an active lifestyle despite your diagnosis

• Group physical activities with others diagnosed with a chronic condition

• To get out and move the body and get the blood pumping
