Hollywood Hiking And Outdoors

Hello Hiker!

Get out and enjoy nature around Hollywood!  Runyon Canyon, Griffith Park, and Hollywood Hills.  Walking, hiking, observatory, and fitness!!  Hollywood is even more fun outside.  See you soon!

Please note, we rotate members based on how active you are.  Our goal is to build a dynamic, engaged group of outdoor lovers and share hikes and stories.  Waitlist is long! When you submit, describe your interest in attending hikes and available times; once you get accepted, please RSVP and join Meetup postings as the window is only a few months before we release inactive members and invite new ones.  Thanks so much for your interest in the great hiking around Hollywood!

Hollywood is an eclectic place; tourists traps, cafes, celebrity homes, and great little neighborhoods.  Perhaps the best part of Hollywood is the hiking trails.  With views all the way to downtown Los Angeles and Greater Wilshire in one direction, and canyons in the background.  This Meetup is setup to develop a group of hikers who get to know each other and have regular hikes.

HOW DOES THE 100 CAP WORK?!
Meetup recently changed the organization, pricing, and marketing strategies for Organizers, with more emphasis on small active groups and larger groups that have multiple activities.  This is especially significant in Los Angeles where members have to drive long distances to attend meetups.  To accommodate this change, we instituted new guidelines for the Hollywood Hiking Meetup here.  Now we maintain a MAX membership of 100 active members at any given time.   We understand some members get busy with other projects and become inactive over time, the idea is to keep the group focused on members who they can meet and make friends.  We maintain a LONG waiting list ( > 200 ); when a new member is Approved, an inactive member is released.  To remain active, please visit the Meetup page often, RSVP to upcoming hikes and events, and let us know if you want new events.

-----------------------------

When you signup, please provide as much info as you like to tell the group more about you and your interest in outdoors fitness, especially hiking.  We hope to learn from each other and develop friendships through this great sport.

Snowboarders, Skiers and Outdoor Adventurers

Let's go outdoors.  Snowboard and ski in the winter and hiking and camping in the summer.  Are you adventures and looking for friends to do various outdoor activities with. We are too.  We started as a snowboarding group but have now ventured into outdoor adventures and more! We love winter sports and enjoy summer adventures as well. When there is snow, we hit up the slopes. In warmer months, we keep up the fun through hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and other outdoor adventures as well as game nights and other fun stuff.

If you don't snowboard or ski, want to learn or enjoy outdoor adventures, we welcome you too!

Get ready to meet with local snowboarders and adventurers! Feel free to post trips & plan event with other snowboarders and outdoors enthusiasts via the message board or email. We will also meet up now & then to share boarding and outdoors stories & ideas about resorts, vacations, equipment, etc.  We will do happy hours, social networking and other fun things too!

*We snowboard and/or ski in Mammoth. If not Mammoth, we do local trip such as Mt. Baldy and Big Bear Mountain (Snow Summit and Bear Mountain). We don't discourage venturing to Vail, Aspen, Park City, Whistler, etc. The possibility is endless. Join us. If you are fun, adventurous, love the snow and the outdoors and cool adventures, and enjoy social networking, we welcome you! :)

We are getting ready for our first snowboarding/skiing trip of the year. Are you itching to go snowboarding or skiing? I sure am.  I can't wait! Snowboarding.  Yeppy!!

If you don't think you want to ski or snowboard the entire weekend, there is still plenty of cool stuff to do.  Ever been to Mono Lake and seen the tufas? It's like you're on another planet!  Ever hiked into a volcano crater?  Or what about hotsprings?  Who doesn't like hotsprings?

The Art of Active Networking -Los Angeles

WHY DO YOU NETWORK?

Like most people, are you bad at networking or nervous about walking into a roomful of strangers? Do you often wonder why no one returns your calls or follows up with you after a "Networking Event"? Join us in any of our cities for "The Art of Active Networking", and let's change everything you believe about Networking! Weā€™ll show you how to build powerful relationships through giving using our method of #MyGive4

The Art of Active Networking is a worldwide networking group 100% focused on helping you to do better by asking the question, "How can I help you do better right now?ā€ We recognize that every single person on this planet has two things that are universally common to each other:

1. We are all of the same race...the Human Race!

2. That as humans we all struggle with something!

At this event you will make some amazing connections and you will learn why Networking is not about what you get, but what you give and what I call my #MyGive4. You really only need to meet one person to make your entire night worthwhile if you know what you are doing. You will have an opportunity to speak to everyone in the room, and you will absolutely meet people you might otherwise never have an opportunity to meet and you will see that's it's not what you are selling or how you sell it that matters. Instead, learn the importance of building 'know, like and trust' relationships!

With that in mind we ask that you consider helping yourself and each other with those struggles by attending our events and sharing yourself and your knowledge, and practicing what we call #MYGIVE4 where we ask each of you to consider helping others for 4 hours a week in the following 4 ways.

1. GIVE of your ideas and talent freely! Share your vast life experience to help another.

2. GIVE of your time! Volunteer! Help a neighbor with a chose, carry someones groceries, volunteers at a soup kitchen or for a non-profit!

3. GIVE of your money! I'm not asking for your fortune, even 25 cents in a hat or 5 dollars to a crowdfunding campaign or in the basket at church can go a long way to someone struggling.

4. GIVE of your network through referrals! I now folks, you know folks, and the way we really do business is by building ā€œKnow, like and trustā€ based relationships! If I refer you and someone knows, likes and trusts the person, they will call you back or offer help when referred.

So use these 4 ways of giving and put in 4 hours a week of effort and watch your life get better. Watch the people who come into your life get better. Watch all the good you do with #MYGIVE4 and hashtag your good deeds while you share them to inspire others!

Come see why over 15,000 people have attended in 5 countries and 17 cities worldwide! Tickets are 20$ on-line on our site until 6:15pm the day of the event and 30$ cash at the door until 7:15pm. Each event typically ends about 9:45pm! You must purchase a ticket online in advance to get the 20$ pricing.

You are then invited to join all of our groups and pages and use our FREE walls to post up what you might be looking for, all of those links are on our homepage near the ticket link.

Finally, this is 100 percent privately funded by Mark E. Sackett our founder. In order to expand it and keep it going heā€™s launched a Crowdrise Campaign to help.
