Our Mission: To provide a supportive environment where all women can have fun and challenge themselves in a community of women who love the outdoors while respecting the Earth. Our Vision Women Outdoors is a national network of diverse women who are engaged in the enjoyment of outdoor activities. We seek to promote leadership development through member participation in biannual workshops; environmental stewardship by creating and participating in earth stewardship programs; and personal growth by offering multiple skills-based regional workshops.

The 100-year-old Sierra Club has 3.8 million member and will allows us to continue offer outdoor activities in the same manner as always, with our leader posting hikes and hikers RSVPing for events using Meetup.  We hope you will support us by joining the Sierra Club **[https://www.connecticut.sierraclub.org/  ](https://www.connecticut.sierraclub.org/)** membership is not a requirement (But encouraged) to participate in hikes & events. This change is solely an internal move so we may retain the ability to post and lead hikes consistent with what we currently do. The CT Sierra Club is a strong organization with a mission to protect the resources of CT, from the Sound to the forest uplands and the flora and fauna that occupy these places and the places in between. They will help us with all the support that our hikers/event participants don’t see but enable us to operate effectively. (Training, Liability protection for our leaders, etc.)    **The CT Chapter is regulated by and subject to the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws of the Sierra Club, Inc., and organized under Section (501) c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.**

CT Couples 40+ & Unafraid to Have Fun

North Haven, CT

CT Couples 40+ & Unafraid to Have Fun
Please, read all of this before asking questions. This group is for couples for those 40+. Making friends later in life can be tough. This group tries to bridge that gap. 1. This is a couples group. Events are for both of you and not just 1 interested in the event. 2. This is NOT a swingers group. 3. This is a group for those wanting to meet new people, make friends experience new/different activities—bowling, wineries, breweries, trivia events, karaoke, mini golf, live music, dancing, etc. to name a few. 4. Please have a recognizable profile pic of both of you. Or if profile pic is just you then both of you need to sign up with recognizable face pictures. We understand privacy concerns but for our protection we need to recognize you when you arrive to the first few events. Failure to rectify after being asked = removal from group. 5. When signing up for an event always put your “+1”. See item 1. 6. We like taking pics and posting them so other couples can see what we do. Please, notify us in advance if you do NOT want your pics posted. 7. If you commit to an event then discover you cannot attend, please notify us as soon as possible and change your status for the event. Sometimes there are costs involved, reservations required, min/max counts and your spot may be needed for someone waitlisted. 8. No-shows are simply rude. We reserve the right to remove you from the group if this occurs 2 times. See #7 for reasons. 9. We love suggestions for new activities. 10. Support the venue—we ask you make a reasonable purchase to support the business to maintain the activity we are enjoying. 11. Read all description info for an event before contacting us. 12. Culling the membership—we remove those who have made no attempts to attend an event in 12 months. 13. No soliciting. 14. As of September 2024, we are going to ask that every couple contribute $10 per year to cover the current costs of the meetup membership for this group. We ask that this be paid at the second event you attend, to allow you the opportunity to decide if you’d like to continue attending. We will keep track of when you paid so it’ll be a rolling year based on that timeframe. So if you paid us this September, we’ll loop back with you next September for another $10.
