All skill levels are welcome, however some events may require more skill and experience than others and will be specified per the event. This is a safe, members-only, private group to meet up and make new friends while being active. It should not be abused as a channel to message other members before you actually *meet up* with them. This group and meetup groups in general strive to be different than dating apps. We focus on fostering connection in the real world based on sharing common interests—in this case, enthusiasm for being active outside. We'll be doing a variety of activities, so there should be something that everyone can enjoy! **Event No-Show Policy:** If you're RSVP'd to an event and are unable to attend for any reason, please change your RSVP, post in the event, or send the event host a message. Failure to notify the event host prior to the event start time will be noted, which several consecutive no-shows may result in your removal from the group. In addition, if an event has an attendance cap, with people on the waiting list, at least a 24-hour notice is required. Any notice less than 24-hours will be considered a no-show. However, if a reservation was made, a no-show or less than a 4-hour notice may cause your immediate removal from the group.

A group that is dedicated to providing unique, sophisticated, and fun social events for the ever-evolving taste and interest of today's bi/lesbian woman of color.

Social activities range from art openings, brunches, plays, movies, poetry readings, yoga, dinner parties, book clubs, after work drinks, outdoor adventures, wine tastings, group travel to DC, Philly, New York, and Toronto, and team sports etc.

NOTE: All bi/lesbian women of color (Black, Latina, South Asian, Asian, and Native American), including all transgender women of color who identify as lesbians, bisexual, and queer, from the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT) are welcome to join. Because this group serves as one of the few spaces for gay and bisexual women of color, particularly feminine lesbians and bisexual women of color, to socialize free of the forces of racism, sexism, and homophobia, we ask that you do not apply if you are not a woman of color who identifies as a lesbian or bisexual.

CRITERIA: As criteria for membership, all applicants must include a headshot that clearly includes their faces in their profile pictures. Profiles with avatars, non-human subjects, cartoons, or photos that in any way, shape, or form, obscure members' faces will be rejected. Profiles should include members' faces in order to ensure that their profiles are legitimate in order to ensure members' safety. Profiles that do not meet this criteria will be rejected. WHAT WE DO

Our members host all types of activities all around the state. We hike, kayak, paint, drink, eat, play cards and games, picnic, walk our dogs, talk, dish, commiserate, debate, sing, carve pumpkins, DANCE, dress up, dress down, dress in costume, see plays and movies, and sometimes even take trips.

HOW TO JOIN

Make sure your display name includes a first name and last initial (or more), completion of the profile questions, and a clear photo of your face to join. If you are declined, check your photo and make sure you meet membership criteria. You can ask for membership again after updating your photo or other issues.

You must be both woman-identified (living openly as a woman) AND non-heterosexual to join this group. Trans people who fit those criteria are also welcome. While we do enjoy spending time with our male and heterosexual friends, this group is for a specific part of the community.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

All of our events are hosted by a club member. Members can expect to be greeted and introduced to other members at all of our events (except perhaps those that involve massive public crowds). Please keep your photo updated so hosts can identify you at events.

DUES

We are no longer requiring annual dues.

HOW DO EVENTS WORK?

Anyone can create an event, or act as host at a larger community event. You can create your own event for coffee at the Starbucks near you, or invite other people to join you for Karaoke Night at your local bar. We encourage all members to plan and host events. We have several very active event organizers, others who only organize one type of event. Sometimes events are specified for a particular subgroup (ex: Parents, Vegans) and that's okay, too.

Most events are adults-only. Nursing mothers may ask their host if bringing their infant is appropriate. Older babies, children, minors, and men are not welcome at our events unless specifically mentioned by the event host. [Occasionally personal friends are invited to someone's home-based event. Sometimes an activity is child-appropriate or for families. Sometimes a bi-friendly event might specify that it will allow men.]

Members are sometimes permitted to bring a guest or two to an event. Please be careful about which other lesbian/bi/queer women you bring to our events, as you are responsible for you guest’s behavior.

PHOTO PRIVACY POLICY

We take photos of members enjoying our events and post them to this private meetup site. Only other members can view the photos. If you do not want your photograph taken, please immediately and politely let the photographer know. We will not remove photos that members find disagreeable.

Please do not post meetup event photos or tag our members in posts on your personal social media accounts (like Facebook) without permission from every person in the photo/post, including anyone in the background. Some people are not out.
