Sidetrackers Outdoor and Active Singles Meetup Group
**Meet other active and outdoorsy singles near you!** PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY BEFORE JOINING OUR SIDETRACKERS MEETUP GROUP, especially the last paragraph about "membership" in our Meetup group and "membership" in the Sidetrackers club. Trip and activity details can be found here on Meetup.  We do have a very detailed club web site at [http://www.sidetrackers.com](http://www.sidetrackers.com) that has some very good information about past events and How To's if you would consider hosting an event. SIDETRACKERS is an outdoor activities club for single people in Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. We've been around for over 20 years and offer high-quality experiences for singles who genuinely enjoy outdoor activities and who would like to meet like-minded single activity partners. Club events are mostly oriented towards outdoor activities and may include camping, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, cycling, sightseeing, ziplines, hang gliding, marksmanship, and horseback riding. Activities are varied and provide opportunities for a wide range of interests, abilities, and skill levels. Membership and participation in our singles club also provides opportunities to develop and refine outdoor leadership skills. SIDETRACKERS in Jacksonville is the place for active singles! Visit our web site at [http://www.sidetrackers.com](http://www.sidetrackers.com). Even if you don't live in or around Jacksonville and are looking for high-quality singles activities, you can still participate with us. Use our  calendar of events and activities on MeetUp, find out how to sign up for trips and events, and even apply to become a member. It's easy, and it's all online at our main web site - [http://www.sidetrackers.com](http://www.sidetrackers.com). We would love to have you visit or join our club. ABOUT "MEMBERSHIP" IN OUR GROUP: Meetup membership is free and open to all, however some Meetup members elect to "join" the Sidetrackers club in order to help defray the costs involved in running Sidetrackers. For example, we incur expenses to maintain our web site and we also buy and pay for a supplemental medical insurance policy. Club membership is ridiculously cheap for one year - $15 - and in exchange (and also as a reward) for helping pay for our expenses, club members are invited to a few special "members only" events where the club may pay for some of the food. If you elect not to join the club, you're welcome to participate with us, but please respect and understand this arrangement within our club when you see two or three "members only" events each year. This way of running things has been in place for many years and it has worked very well for everyone. We hope to see you soon!

Florida Trail - North Florida Trailblazers

Jacksonville, FL

Florida Trail - North Florida Trailblazers

We are the North Florida Trailblazers, the local chapter of the Florida Trail Association (FTA). Our main purpose is to build and maintain sections of the Florida Trail (FT) in our chapter's area. Sections are located in the Osceola National Forest, along the Suwannee River near White Springs, Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park and Camp Blanding. When we are not working on the FT, we organize day hikes, backpacking, paddling, and other outdoor activities. We have chapter meetings, social events and other activities to promote hiking. We are using Meetup to reach people interested in hiking.

The FT, a 1300 mile trail that runs the length of Florida, is part of the National Scenic Trails system (includes the AT and the Continental Divide, for example). The FT is developed, maintained, protected and promoted by the FTA and its public and private partners.

Check out this short video to learn more about the FT:  Explore the Florida Trail - YouTube

We are not a social networking or dating group. We are here to support and maintain the FT and to promote hiking in general. But if you enjoy hiking and outdoors activities, you will certainly meet people with shared interests. Advertising to or within the group is not allowed.

RSVPs are important so that we may properly plan for you and for the group. If your ability to attend changes, please change your RSVP as soon as you know so that your spot can be given to others especially on our limited attendance events. If you have to change your RSVP at the last minute, please message your event leader so that you are not marked as a "No Show." Three No Shows can result in the loss of your membership in the Meetup group.

If you request to join us, please make sure your profile includes your name and a recent photo of yourself so we can recognize you at our events. We do require participants at our events to put their name on our sign-in sheet/liability waiver.

Our members receive many benefits, including automatic membership in a local chapter in your area, which holds its own meetings and activities and sends out a newsletter pertinent to what’s going on in your area; a subscription to the Footprint magazine; trail maintenance training workshops, including chainsaw certification; participation in Volunteer Work Parties, our team-building volunteer trail crews that tackle large projects like building bridges and boardwalks; a window decal and logo patch; opportunity to participate on decision-making committees covering major trail issues; and voting privileges. Memberships start at $35 for an individual or $50 for a family. http://ftashop.floridatrail.org/individual-... <br>

NOTE: Registration on this Meetup does not make you a member of the FTA. Some of our events will be offered only to FTA members. Go to www.floridatrail.org to join the FTA and learn more about our organization.

Downtown (and all around) Jax Meetup

Jacksonville, FL

Downtown (and all around) Jax Meetup
NOTE: Over the years we have begun expanding out to hosting events in other parts of town occasionally, so in 2022 we rebranded as "Downtown (and all around) Jax Meetup". This MeetUp, created in the summer of 2015, is for both SINGLES and COUPLES of ALL AGES who are WORKING or LIVING in the Downtown, San Marco, Riverside, Avondale, Springfield, and Murray Hill areas who want to explore the multitude of activities, restaurants, bars, and other venues, all local to these areas, in a relaxed, friendly group setting... and all within a short drive or Uber ride! You DON'T HAVE TO LIVE IN these areas to be a member, but you do have to have a strong desire to be ACTIVE in our events in these areas, and occasionally all around the greater north Florida area. Event organizers will work to plan many get togethers and a variety of activities local to us so that we capture the interests of everyone without having to drive too far... but we will also try to stretch our geographical limits at least once a quarter to experience what other areas of town, or even other cities, have to offer. And we are always looking for energetic organizers who would like to host fun events! While we do not currently charge Member Dues, we do welcome donations to cover operating costs (we may reinstate member dues in the future if necessary). If you enjoy the group, then you are encouraged to donate up to $15 per year (or more if so inclined) via one of the following: 1) CASH directly to Vence in person is always welcome (consider donating $1 per event attended) 2) CashApp/VenMo: @BigDawgFan1969 (please try to avoid fees by sending to friend) 3) PayPal: paypal.me/BigDawgFan1969 (please try to avoid approx 3-4% fees by sending to friend) 4) MeetUp via Pledge:  https://www.meetup.com/downtownjaxmeetup/#pledge  (this will result in approx 6% going to Pledge instead of the group) \*\*\* If needed for verification: BigDawgFan1969@yahoo.com, 904-742-9509 Money collected goes into a bank account to offset costs of semi-annual organizer fees (approx $100), monthly/quarterly birthday celebrations, annual group parties, etc. Join us!!!

Greater Social Life Union of Jacksonville

Jacksonville, FL

Greater Social Life Union of Jacksonville

There are many steps on your journey to greater social life. Here are the first steps for members of our club: Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). After reading the rest of this introduction, you should read the 2021 book The Guide to Thumoslang. Many of our members put this new knowledge into practice as suggested by The GSLU Handbook.

When you spend more time in damage control mode and less time benefiting from your various relations, you waste a great deal of effort in your social life. Such a cost of opportunity keeps you from going at high speed towards your ideals, in creating your ideal self, and in actualizing what you truly want to become. This is likely due to a lack of social clarity, which is essential for internal conversations and vital for meaningful relationships.

Unintentionally created in 2017, accidentally discovered in 2018, and first taught in 2019, Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social clarity. It is used as a language for faster communication, be it in complex collaboration or difficult conversation. The first widespread use of social clarity has been predicted by Thumoslang pioneers to be just as important as the first widespread control of fire. All is explained by The Guide to Thumoslang, which is backed by The Dictionary of Thumoslang.

The Thumoslang Network is an association of various groups whose members use Thumoslang as their basic strategy in life.

Greater Social Life Union (GSLU) is the first organization on the Thumoslang Network. Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

Your ideals are the same as your ideal self, which means what you truly want to become. "Everything else is secondary," said Steve Jobs. Our group activities involve you with the first practical steps in the further development of your ideals, in keeping others from interfering with your life, and in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals. To be sure, if you lack social clarity in your internal conversations, face unwanted drama too often, are not sure of your social life or your path into the future, or have no friends and no groups available on a regular basis to help create your ideal self, this group is for you.

*** MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ***

Our group activities bring you the following benefits:

Benefit 1 - Mastery of Relationships

As new GSLU members participate in the union's activities, they will quickly find themselves having noticeable enhancements in their social lives. The further they participate in GSLU activities, the faster they naturally acquire the mastery of relationships.

Benefit 2 - Best Friends for Your Ideals

Our group activities include practical steps in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals.

Benefit 3 - Internal Dialogues More Effective

Thumoslang is a set of terminology whose use is intended to benefit one's clarity in social situations. Consequently, Thumoslang allows you to have clearer communication with yourself in your mind.

Benefit 4 - Meaningful Relationships Much Stronger

Our members use Thumoslang to mend or strengthen their existing relationships, build new relations, and achieve greater social life.

Benefit 5 - Faster Actualization of Your Ideals

The actualization of your ideals goes faster when it regularly involves your best group, which is the small group of in-person, second-mind friends who are the best for the nurturing of your ideals. Our activities help you speed up the actualization of your ideals by reducing social roadblocks and increasing social shortcuts in your life.
