Heartwood Preserve Tours & Events

New Port Richey, FL

Heartwood Preserve Tours & Events
Join us at Heartwood Preserve Conservation Cemetery for free activities and tours. Events vary, but focus on nature education, meditation, and healing movement. Most events are hybrid indoor-outdoor. Please wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing, and sun protection. The nature preserve and cemetery have well-maintained footpaths but are still part of Wild Florida--prepare for uneven terrain, a hot and humid climate, sharp saw palmetto leaves, and mosquitos. *Amenities provided at the Heartwood Preserve Welcome Center:* * Water fountain and water bottle refill station * Restrooms * Air conditioning * Chairs * Sunscreen * Bug repellant * Paper fans It is our goal to reduce our reliance on single-use plastics at the Welcome Center. We have glassware and paper cups available if you do not have a reusable water bottle to bring with you. Notify staff if you will require the use of our golf cart for transportation within the preserve. We are happy to make accommodations as necessary for accessibility. Please note that only certified, on-duty service animals are allowed at Heartwood Preserve events. Even the most well-behaved pets can be a distraction to others. On occasion, Heartwood Preserve hosts events that feature wild animals; for the safety of our guest fauna and your furry friends, we recommend leaving pets at home. **Please reach out with questions!** **Call us:** 727-376-5111 [www.heartwoodpreserve.com](https://heartwoodpreserve.com/)

Beyond Catan, A Group of Board Game Geeks

New Port Richey, FL

Beyond Catan, A Group of Board Game Geeks
Welcome, we are glad you are here. **What is Beyond Catan?** We are a casual, Meetup group of board game enthusiasts in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. **Who is running this group?** It is a shared effort between Ashley S., Jay H., Jordan B., Matt H., and Emily B. **Are you on any social media?** Yes we are! Please be sure to follow us, please. https://linktr.ee/beyondcatan **Where/when do you play?** The 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month from 1-6 at various breweries in Trinity and surrounding areas. We are currently working to find an new home. And occasionally we run other board game-related events in the Tampa Bay area. We also have a thread on our Discord to arrange more informal, in-person games. Feel free to initiate a game! **Is there a cost to play?** No, but we can’t promise you won’t get addicted to buying new board games! **What kind of games do you play?** All kinds, basically anything beyond Catan. Some examples include: Ark Nova, Dune Imperium, The West Kingdom Trilogy, Great Western Trail, Terraforming Mars, Obsession, Dead of Winter, Wonderland's War, Battlestar Galactica. We also play lighter, filler games if time permits. **How do you decide what game gets played?** We decide some games live, in person, but we would like to encourage some pre-planning if possible. We have a "featured game" sign-up on our Discord for each event with typically 2-3 games to choose from. If you have attended at least 2 events and are willing to run and teach a game, just let us know and we will set up the signup for you. **Can I bring my own games to the meetup?** Yes, please! We love being introduced to new games, however, you will be expected to teach the game and we can't guarantee it will hit the table. You can post in the #meetup-discussion channel on our discord to try to pre-plan your game, or we can try to help you round up a group in person. Referring to, and quoting the rule book is perfectly fine, but please don’t teach directly from the rulebook. You should be familiar with the basic mechanics already, even if it is your first time playing. **Do you teach games?** Yes! All games played will be taught. **Group Rules:** **Inclusion and Respect**: Beyond Catan is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming community. We do not tolerate any form of bigotry, discrimination, or harmful behavior. Everyone is encouraged to participate, share their perspectives, and treat others with kindness and respect. **Age Requirement:** Currently our meetup events are 18+ **Attendance and Communication**: Please RSVP for events you plan to attend. If you can't make it, update your RSVP. Clear communication helps us plan better events. **Support the Venue**: We value the spaces that host our events. Please be respectful, clean up after yourself, and follow any venue-specific guidelines. If there's an opportunity to support the venue (such as purchasing food, drinks, or board games), let's do so to express our gratitude. **Game Damage Responsibility**: Please be mindful of food and drinks near board games. If you accidentally damage someone else's game, please take responsibility. This could involve replacing damaged components or contributing toward a replacement game. **Photography and Privacy**: Always ask for permission before taking photos of other participants. Some people may prefer not to be photographed. If you take photos during an event, feel free to share them, however, respect individual preferences regarding privacy. **No Solicitation**: Our group is not a platform for self-promotion or sales. Please refrain from promoting products, services, or events without prior permission from a Meetup host, outside of approved forums, such as board games for sale by owner. **Have fun**: Active participation is encouraged! Attend events, share ideas, and contribute to our community.
