Active Women in Semmes Park Group

Atlanta, GA

You feel better whether you're running, biking, walking, roller blading, swimming or going to the gym. Studies have indicated that physical exercise extends a woman's life not only in longevity but also when measuring over all satisfaction. Research has concluded that women who stay active live better, are happier and age with more grace compared to those who aren't active. But it can be difficult in modern day times to get up and get out with worry-some husbands concerned for our safety or toddlers demanding our attention or just not having a reason to go or being without someone else to hold us accountable and to look forward to. Active Women in Semmes Park is just that - a group of women who get together and get active. Whether you show up for 15 minutes or for 45 minutes, we don't count how long you stay but how often and how consistent you are. We're not really counting how often you come either.... but come any way and as much as you want! Stay active, stay fit, stay happy. Mom? Toddlers, babies and children are welcome, there is always a minimum of one toddler attending the group with mom. What better a gift to bestow your baby than a life long appreciation for physicality? Natural serotonin producing activity which moves and breathes your body, gets your heart and blood pumping and leaves you and baby with that "Good kind of Tired" at the end of the day - ready for bed at a reasonable time - husbands, boyfriends and sons welcome to join with their women. Semmes Park has an enclosed dog run area where you can bring Fido and Fifi and either stay with them or let them run with other resident dogs of the neighborhood. Get the four leg members of your family out and about and tire them out so they fall asleep happy when you get home. Semmes Park has an enclosed tennis park. Semmes Park has a small playground with slides and swings. Semmes Park has a soccer field. Semmes Park has a babbling brook that runs through the park. Have you been to Semmes Park yet?

Restore Black America is more than just a Meetup group. It is an invigorating call to Black America on what it really takes to build a strong sense of community as well as true economic and political power. The Restore Black America Meetup group will be based around activities mentioned in the Restore Black America book which contains a defined 6 step action plan on how to achieve wealth, gain political power, rebuild the community, improve and maintain health, and tap into divine creative spiritual power.

The Restore Black America Foundation is an organization that was founded to provide the tools to the black community to make the necessary changes in order to implement the 100 Year Plan in those 6 areas.

Act 2: Life After 50

Fairburn, GA

Act 2: Life After 50
Welcome to a community of mature women! We coordinate/host social activities to help you enjoy and live your best life. We encourage all members to make recommendations for outings and events. We want your participation in this Meetup to be fun and enjoyable. We also offer workshops and life coaching to help women focus on their own selfcare. Remeber, "**It's never too late to get better!**" **Group Protocols:** * All members should check the website for new events monthly. * All women are welcome; however, we are commited to those who "actively" participate. Therefore, our membership **roster is purge quarterly** of women who have not attended an event or visited the site (not the app) within the last 90 days. * There is a **nominal registration fee for all events,** usually $5 - $10 plus the actual cost of the event. This fee helps to offset the cost to maintain the Meetup site ($200 yrly) and the time to research and plan events. It also discourages "no shows." * If you do not wish to pay the fee, please do not join this Meetup. * If you RSVP for an event and do not attend or change your RSVP status before the event, you may be removed from the group. The aforementioned "protocols" have been established to maintain the integrity of our group. Unfortunately, many people join Meetup groups and never attend anything. People also RSVP then "no show" with no regard for the time and effort it takes to plan events. We want to minimize the typed of actions. If you have question, please feel free to DM the host.

You, Me, & ADHD

Smyrna, GA

You, Me, & ADHD
Hi, and welcome! I created the*You, Me, & ADHD* group to provide a safe and supportive environment for adults with ADHD to connect with one another, share our experiences, and offer each other advice and support for managing our ADHD symptoms. Our events will be hosted online and in-person and cover a range of topics on adult ADHD. **Is this group for you?** If you’re looking for like-minded people with ADHD for support and to help you find practical strategies for managing your symptoms, then yes this group is for you! This group is open to anyone who’s been diagnosed with ADHD or suspects that they have ADHD. It is also open to friends, family members, and loved ones of individuals with ADHD who want to learn more about the condition and how to better support their loved ones. **Do you have to live in Atlanta?** Nope! This group was founded to provide a network of empathetic and supportive people to help individuals seeking support for adult ADHD for themselves or someone they care about. Although our group is based in Atlanta, we'd love for you to attend any of our online events from wherever you are! **What can you expect?** Every ADHD brain is unique. My goal is to facilitate a variety of activities to meet people where they are in managing their symptoms, such as: 1. General discussion to share experiences, talk about coping strategies, ask questions, and offer each other advice and support. 2. Book Discussion: some of us like to read and can *actually* focus on it long enough to finish the book! What were your takeaways? How has the book helped you improve your time management, organization, or stress management skills? 3. Social events to provide members an opportunity to connect with one another in a more casual setting.
