Outdoor activities groups near Abington, MA

This is a group for anyone interested in hiking and other outdoor activities in all four seasons. The focus is on day hikes within an hours drive of Boston that offer fun outdoor experiences; some in places you may never have known to exist. Our focus is hiking, but we offer other trekking opportunities like kayaking and biking. While all skills levels are welcome, most of the hikes will be at an intermediate level providing an atmosphere conducive to socializing and getting to know your fellow travelers.

With Fall in the air, kids back to school & sports, schedules do change drastically, making you feel tired, distracted, and stressed. <br>Join us for this unique workshop designed to help you cope with the stress from parenting, relationships & the little challenges of daily living. <br>Together, we will learn to over come life's little disruptions, through Breath Work Techniques, Guided Meditation, Art work, Creative Writing & Journaling & although, these modalities are not new... WE will be practicing them while in the presents of HORSES?

Partnering with horses in this "hands on" experiential workshop, you will gain knowledge in Basic Horsemanship & Equine Behaviors. Learn how horses are the masters of non-verbal communication & body language. Experience how fabulous horses are at teaching how to set boundaries, make healthy choices, recognize self-worth, build self-esteem & cope with change. We will practice being mindful & how to live in the moment, the way horses do. <br>This safe, nonjudgmental workshop will be held at The Bridge Center, a PATH certified facility with an indoor riding arena. The workshop will be facilitated by Claire Rose, a PATH certified Equine Specialist & Holistic Coach Professional.

The purpose of this group is to provide opportunities to hike with other like minded outdoor enthusiasts. We are lucky to have the Blue Hills Reservation as part of the Metropolitan Boston area. There are many hiking trails for hikers of all levels of experience to explore. Most of our hikes will be in the Blue Hills. Occasionally we will schedule hikes in other venues in the Greater Boston area as well as New Hampshire.

This group is suitable for moderate hikers and advanced beginning hikers who are in moderately strong aerobic condition doing some other fitness activity.

The pace will be slightly slower than moderate averaging 2.0 to 2.5 MPH for most hikes. The will vary depending on the steepness and rockiness of the terrain. A fit healthy person who walks regularly and exercises can reasonably expect to do our hikes. If you are looking for an advanced fast paced workout, this is not the group for you. Advanced hikers who don’t mind going at a more moderate pace are always welcome.

To become a member you must have a recognizable facial photo of yourself that we use to identify you at our events.

This group is for Anyone interested in holistic healing, Spirituality, Shamanism, outdoor fun,horses, Equine Therapy, optimum health and wellness, enjoys art, excercise, mediation , yoga, cooking, being creative. Likes to teach classes, dance, and laugh. For anyone that enjoys things that bring about joy, healing and a zest for life.

Well, this is a group for anyone interested in enjoying various games (indoor and outdoor). And if you've missed social interaction or games during the pandemic, this is a great way to meet some good people while having a good time.

South Shore Fitness is a group interested in gathering for physical fitness activities such as walking, running, golfing, or kayaking and the list goes on.  Our organizing team searches and tries for group rates for events and lessons so that you as a member potentially have the benefit of a discounted activity.   With  members stepping up to join the organizing team, we are able to offer a variety of events of all interests and levels.  We, however, are always looking to add to our team.  Please email me with your interest.
