Women Outdoors — Eastern Massachusetts Meetup

Women Outdoors is a national, nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide a supportive environment where all women can have fun and challenge themselves in a community of women who love the outdoors while respecting the earth. Women Outdoors promotes leadership, friendship, adventure and enjoyment in the great outdoors.

An all-volunteer organization, Women Outdoors has regional chapters in regions throughout the US (mostly East Coast at present), all of which organize activities for members such as hiking, biking, kayaking and cross-country skiing.

To become a member of this Meetup group, you must use a recognizable facial photo of yourself, not including others, in your profile that we can use to identify you at our events.

You can learn more at www.womenoutdoors.org.

Membership Dues - There are NO membership dues to join this Meetup, though donations of any size are gratefully accepted and will go toward an annual outing and party. Although it does cost to maintain a Meetup group, the national Women Outdoors organization generously subsidizes our cost and hopes you'll consider joining the national organization. There are many benefits to joining Women Outdoors, including being eligible to register for The Gathering: our yearly weekend at a wonderful camp that features kayaking and canoeing on a beautiful pond, hiking, bicycling, skills workshops, a rock climbing wall, and much more. Women Outdoors also offers subsidized or full tuition reimbursement for leadership and outdoor skills training, including first aid and kayak trip leading, for example.

Boston Outdoor Adventures

Boston, MA

Boston Outdoor Adventures
We are Boston's number one group for hiking, skiing, biking, snowboarding, and more. We have no cliquey events where only the regulars always get chosen, and every event starts with carpool so nobody is left behind. We are the most inclusive group in Boston for hiking, skiing, biking, snowboarding, and other outdoor adventures.  Our group is about the democratization of the outdoors, [so you can be the adventure spark ](https://www.ridj-it.com/adventurespark)without having to go through layers of the usual Meetup hierarchy.  Do you want to get out and go skiing but don’t have a ride? We’ve got your back. Have you been dreaming about surfing but can’t make it out to California? We know a secret spot to paddle out, and its way closer than you think. Ridj-it has helped bring thousands of people from the creature comforts of Boston out to adventures of a lifetime all around New England.  Ridj-it has taken thousands of cars off the road, and through connecting those without cars with those who have one, we've helped adventurers host over 1000+ events in just a year. Is there a mountain you've always wanted to hike?  Drivers and riders can post adventures on Ridj-it at www.ridj-it.com, and then that trip is posted to our Meetup group. Our events include people from Meetup, Facebook, and others, so we're more than your typical Boston Meetup group.  [Why do we carpool? ](https://www.ridj-it.com/single-post/2018/02/18/Why-Carpool)We found most other outdoor Meetups were leaving younger residents, people of color, and immigrants behind. By linking our trips to carpool, we make sure everyone has to work together as a team in order to go on events. Many of our hosts don't have cars, and we're proud to have a space where outdoor enthusiasts can slowly democratize access to New England's beautiful mountains, rivers, and beaches.  Check us out on[ Facebook](http://facebook.com/ridjit) and [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/ridj_it/), and if you want to know more about Ridj-it, click [here](https://www.ridj-it.com/howItWorks.html).
