Looking to find people who like to get out and do activities during weekdays when everyone else is at work? Most meetup groups cater to the 9-5 crowd, this one doesn't. We may have activities on the weekends and evenings as well, but we're going to focus on the weekday mornings and afternoons. Including, but not limited to hiking, biking, kayaking, walking, lunch, brunch, movies, museums, fairs, festivals, live music, art, crafts, and much more.

This is a hiking group for people who, like me, take life at a slow and steady pace. I love the outdoors, travel and hiking. Like the tortoise, I keep a steady pace and always get there in the end. Hikes will be mostly medium-length ( 2 - 6 miles) with elevation gains of under 1500 feet and a pace of book time +50%.  Older people who have slowed down, younger folks who are just starting out, people who are overweight and want to get moving, people who are recovering from an injury, people who occasionally like to stop and take pictures or smell the roses...anyone who wants to take things at a slower pace. Hikes and other events take place all year round and in various locations!

We are a group of Worcester and Central MA nature nerds, and we meet in local parks and natural areas to study and share our love and knowledge of the natural world: birds, plants, insects, ecology, and more! The group is open to any ages, including children, but the meetups are not specifically for kids. No dogs allowed. The focus of the group is not hiking or excercise - we might spend an hour checking out trees or birds in a patch of forest or lakeside. Open to suggestions for new places to visit or natural history topics. We usually meet on weekends. Attendees under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Wear weather-appropriate outdoor clothes and bring your curiousity!

We are a fun group. You can find us dancing away after a meal of Chinese at Chopsticks. We do some hiking, karaoke, live music, local community gatherings, line dancing lessons and more. We are open to trying new things. We have a book club, a trivia night, and various other events to keep up young! This goal of this group is to meet new friends and have fun. The difficulty of this group's hikes is normally set by the event host(s) to allow the maximum amount of participation for the maximum amount of members. Generally, a moderate pace of approximately 2 mph should be expected on most hikes. When hikes are planned that are more difficult, such as Mount Monadnock, the description of the meet-up will include this fact. Our goal is to enjoy the outdoors while meeting people interested in the same - not to conquer the mountains. Our hikes are also paced to keep everyone in the group more or less together throughout the entire hike. Weather is obviously a major factor in any of our hikes. We try not to cancel meet-ups for light rain - we are outdoors after all. However, in the case of heavy rain and/or lightning, we'll try to cancel at least 24 hours ahead of time. Gobinday Yogic Health is a community of stakeholders who believe that yoga, meditation, wellness, mind-body interventions of all kinds belong to everyone. Our teachers/yoga therapist offer techniques that help people feel better: no physical or financial barrier to this access. Participants practice active kindness and inclusion.
