The Jane Austen Bookclub

Whether you have read any Jane Austen novels before, or are new and want to dive in, this book club will be a fun space to share ideas, social commentary and laughs about her six 6 major novels and all their inspiring, puzzling and hilarious characters. We have already gone through each of the six main novels, but plan on revisiting some of them in the future, as well as reading and discussing other Austen-related works (suggestions welcome!!). Each meeting will focus on a single novel (or perhaps two meetings per novel if there is a lot to talk about). We will be venturing into additional activities as well, such as live watch groups for the many Jane Austen film adaptations. There will be a blend of both in-person and virtual events.

Welcome! Our group will be meeting to walk around the many parks and trails in the Harford/Cecil/Baltimore County area. (With the option to travel farther if time and interest allow). We will mostly follow Easy and Medium trails, at a reasonable pace in order to be able to enjoy and appreciate our surroundings. The plan will be to keep the group together as much as possible, or split into a few smaller groups if attendance is high. Social events can be just about anything!
