Outdoor activities groups near Monkton, MD

Active Excursions promotes active and engaged outdoor lifestyles. We want to help people connect with nature, see places they have always wanted to see, socialize with like-minded enthusiasts, learn how to protect the environment, and make a difference in their communities. 

We are a fun loving group in our 30’s & 40’s , that enjoy socializing and attending a wide variety of activities.

• We do require your Minimum FIRST NAME and First Initial of Last Name a recognizable PHOTO of your face to join the group.

• We accept 30s to 50.

• We are a social group of friends, NOT A DATING SITE.

• Our Activities include happy hours, festivals, outdoor activities, dance parties, charity events.

• TO JOIN OUR GROUP, in addition to telling us a little about yourself, please let us know if you have attended any of our events or already know anyone in our group.

• All Meetup members of the Bel Air/White Marsh within all three groups will pay a one time fee of $10 upfront. Please forward your dues using PayPal via pieceacake2@gmail.com

We are a diverse group of people from all walks of life who share a common love of being outdoors and exercising. The idea is to get together to enjoy hikes, dog walks, bike rides, trail runs, nature walks, and the occasional road trip for kayaking, camping and the like. Some of our activities may be on the MA & PA Trail, but many will take place at other great places to enjoy the outdoors. Members are encouraged to propose activities, events and trips--from a regular walking or running group on the MA & PA, or more adventurous sorties in the Great Outdoors!

This is a group formed from the lessons I learned organizing for other groups for years. Time to do my own thing that combines fun outside activities with a strong base of respect toward all your fellow members and organizers.
Anyone who loves to be outside with cool people should join. Come out and meet some great people, enjoy some hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, geocaching, insights about the history of our natural areas.

Our rules are simple.

1) Be respectful of fellow GOP-MD members

2) Participate - Attend events, propose your own events, become an organizer

3) As an outdoors group there are inherent risks to attending our activities.  Our organizers do their best to keep everyone safe but we are a volunteer organization with no resources to anticipate and mitigate every possible risk.  Members must understand there are risks, accept those risks and be responsible for their own safety.  

4) Enjoy yourself - life's too short to be miserable while outside enjoying nature!

The BBC's Mission -- The Baltimore Bicycling Club (BBC) was established in 1967 and has a membership of over 1000 riders. The mission of our not-for-profit recreational organization is to promote and sponsor bicycling activities in Baltimore City and neighboring Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard counties. The BBC also promotes, defends, and protects the rights of bicyclists for a safe road riding environment in our communities through advocacy and education. This site is dedicated to those individuals living in Maryland who are interested in exploring the great outdoors !!! 

Hiking with Hiking Maryland is a great way to explore the beauty of Maryland, as well as providing an opportunity for fellowship with friends and members.  It is important, however, to remember that all hikers are responsible for participating in hikes that match their abilities, and are prepared with the appropriate clothing and gear for each hike and/or event.

Hiking Maryland is run by 100% volunteers and will absorb the $ 15.00 monthly meet-up cost for the site, so our hiking events a free for everyone to come out to fellowship with friends and members.  Please note that some parks do require fees to enter and some require payment for parking, this will be the responsibility of the hiker(s) and will be listed on the hike if required.  Any other payments for trips are the hiker(s) responsibility and Hiking Maryland is only covering the cost of the meet-up site and not asking for money like other hiking meet-ups groups.

Organized by Dr. Mort Orman, M.D., a local physician, author and stress elimination expert, this group will explore mastering your emotions, succeeding in your interpersonal relationships, raising healthy kids, and having a career that nurtures you instead of stressing you out. Regular meetings will be held once or twice a month, on weekday evenings, from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at various locations in the Towson, Lutherville and Hunt Valley areas. As the group grows and expands, other special events, activities and learning or networking opportunities will be scheduled.

WHY THIS GROUP WAS FORMED
This group was formed for people who are interested in sharing ideas and strategies for eliminating stress, not just managing it forever. This group is NOT about meditation, yoga, relaxation procedures, deep breathing exercises, or other stress management techniques, all of which are valuable—they’re just not what we will be talking about or exploring in our meetings. 

WHO IS THIS GROUP FOR?
This group is for anyone interested in having a better life, reducing stress, discovering how to be happier, discovering how to avoid relationship failures, how to have more fun at work, and how to become a calmer, more focused and more decisive human being.
