Great Lakes Hiking, Biking, & Kayaking Group

The Great Lakes Hiking, Biking, & Kayaking Group was established to provide a single place for outdoor enthusiasts to find a variety of fun, outdoor adventures while meeting new people who love the same activities.

Our focus is on hiking, cycling, and paddling, but we enjoy any outdoor activity that brings people together and keeps us active. We will also combine other interests with our main activities to create an all new level of fun. Some examples include spending the day on the beach after a hike along the shore, camping during a kayaking weekend, riding bikes to a Whitecaps game, and taking photos of Michigan’s beautiful landscapes on nature walks.

Our goal is to provide fun and exciting experiences by exploring new rivers to paddle, trails to hike/ride, beaches to enjoy, and people to meet. We’ll also visit our favorite, tried and true destinations as well. We hope that you will try new adventures, advance your skills, and meet some awesome people who like to have fun.

We welcome people of all age groups and skill levels who love outdoor adventures, love staying active, and are looking for others to enjoy these activities with. Both Introverts and Extroverts are welcome!

SouthWest Michigan Campers

Grand Rapids, MI

SouthWest Michigan Campers
Hello and welcome to my group. My name is Jim and I have been camping for many years both in a tent as well a pop up and now currently a A-frame camper. I am starting this new Meetup group in hopes of bringing people whom love to camp together to be able to see events that they may be interested in joining or listing events themself that they would like to invite others to sign up for. (Contact me if you would like to list an event for others to join) While this groups name describes the location of the area I am guessing most people will be in that find this group and camp in, it in now way limits the group to listing events only in the SW Michigan area as we may list events within the whole state, maybe even in other states. This group will be open to any one of legal age to sign up for a camping site at the designated campground the group may be attending. Adults are welcome to bring children to any event unless noted as an "Adults Only" event not appropriate for children. This group is open to all whom have a - hammock, car, tent, pop up, trailer, camper van, motorhome or semi-trailer combo or whatever else you camp in. All interested parties joining this group will be asked to follow all local, state and federal rules and regulations / laws as well as any posted by the campgrounds we may be staying in. The organizer(s) is/are only organizing the event to gather others and anything extra they wish to note for activities posted to the event or in updates. You are generally free to do what you wish ( within the rules / laws that apply per above ) and are not required to do anything that you do not wish to partake in if events are planned. You are responsible for your own actions and safety at each event. Members and guests not able to follow the meetup rules or local-state or federal laws will be banned from the group and no refunds / concessions will be given.

Designing Abundance

Grand Rapids, MI

Designing Abundance

When you wake up and open your eyes in the morning, what are your first thoughts? Are they empowering? Are they disempowering? Are they low energy or high energy? Would you like to increase the energy level of your early-morning, and all-day-long, thoughts?

What is the basis of being happy? The creation of four little chemicals in the brain. If we can trigger the manufacture of those chemicals through enjoyable thoughts and activities, then we will consistently send out more of those positive chemicals, beginning early in the day! And If you win the first hour of the day, you win the day!

We all have come across dozens of enjoyable activities in our lifetimes that can help bring about more of those neurotransmitters and raise our energy. But how many of those activities do we actually partake in on a consistent basis to fully activate the happiness and joy we could experience? Would it improve your life if you could do those activities more consistently?

I’ve been fortunate to catalogue hundreds of those types of enjoyable activities, organize them, and turn them into a system that helps us to take control of those four chemicals – and thus our happiness and vibration – beginning the moment we open our eyes in the morning.

Come for this event and you’ll be able to figure out which activities work best for your own needs from a menu of activities, along with your own menu, and build them into a daily routine that can be used both immediately and for the rest of your life.

Stop by Schuler's Books on 28th Street from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on December 3rd and discover how simple adjustments to your thoughts and activities, both early in the day and all day long, will energize and dramatically improve your entire day, and your life!

Greater Social Life Union of Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids, MI

Greater Social Life Union of Grand Rapids

The Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

There are many steps on your journey to greater social life. Here are the first steps for members of GSLU. After reading the rest of this introduction, you should read the 2021 book The Guide to Thumoslang. Many of our members put this new knowledge into practice as suggested by The GSLU Handbook.

When you spend more time in damage control mode and less time benefiting from your various relations, you waste a great deal of effort in your social life. Such a cost of opportunity keeps you from going at high speed towards your ideals, in creating your ideal self, and in actualizing what you truly want to become. This is likely due to a lack of social clarity, which is essential for internal conversations and vital for meaningful relationships.

Unintentionally created in 2017, accidentally discovered in 2018, and first taught in 2019, Thumoslang is the nomenclature for social clarity. It is used as a language for faster communication, be it in complex collaboration or difficult conversation. The first widespread use of social clarity has been predicted by Thumoslang pioneers to be just as important as the first widespread control of fire. All is explained by The Guide to Thumoslang, which is backed by The Dictionary of Thumoslang.

Again, the Thumoslang Network is an association of groups whose members use Thumoslang, the nomenclature for social clarity, as their basic strategy for greater social life. Part of the network is the Greater Social Life Union (GSLU). Its mission is long-lasting joy for its members through faster actualization of their personal ideals.

Your ideals are the same as your ideal self, which means what you truly want to become. "Everything else is secondary," said Steve Jobs. Our group activities involve you with the first practical steps in the further development of your ideals, in keeping others from interfering with your life, and in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals. To be sure, if you lack social clarity in your internal conversations, face unwanted drama too often, are not sure of your social life or your path into the future, or have no friends and no groups available on a regular basis to help create your ideal self, this group is for you.

*** MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ***

Our group activities bring you the following benefits:

Benefit 1 - Mastery of Relationships

As new GSLU members participate in the union's activities, they will quickly find themselves having noticeable enhancements in their social lives. The further they participate in GSLU activities, the faster they naturally acquire the mastery of relationships.

Benefit 2 - Best Friends for Your Ideals

Our group activities include practical steps in building a group of in-person friends who keep on encouraging you and nurturing your ideals.

Benefit 3 - Internal Dialogues More Effective

Thumoslang is a set of terminology whose use is intended to benefit one's clarity in social situations. Consequently, Thumoslang allows you to have clearer communication with yourself in your mind.

Benefit 4 - Meaningful Relationships Much Stronger

Our members use Thumoslang to mend or strengthen their existing relationships, build new relations, and achieve greater social life.

Benefit 5 - Faster Actualization of Your Ideals

The actualization of your ideals goes faster when it regularly involves your best group, which is the small group of in-person, second-mind friends who are the best for the nurturing of your ideals. Our activities help you speed up the actualization of your ideals by reducing social roadblocks and increasing social shortcuts in your life.
