Lansing Social Meetup

Lansing, MI

Lansing Social Meetup
This group is for people in the Greater Lansing area to get together and have some fun. We will try out local restaurants, live music, outdoor activities, happy hour, festivals, socializing, and as we grow (and get more organizers) the list will keep growing. This group is for men and women, married or single, and was originally targeted for 30 or 40 something's, but all ages are welcome. There will be some family friendly events, and will be posted when appropriate to bring kids. Most importantly, this group is to make new friends. Please make sure to include a photo of yourself so we know who to look for when you show up. This group may have many singles, but it is not a singles group. Please be respectful and help make everyone feel comfortable. The idea is to meet people in real life. You can send messages to hosts or organizers about events. Direct messaging someone you have never met, or messaging someone about dating before you have met is not allowed. We want everyone to feel comfortable about joining without the pressure of dating. We don't need another dating app. Please show up to an event so you can meet everyone. Please don't pay membership dues if you've never joined. Dues are only to help pay for the site. Meetup charges a fee to have a group. We want you to show up, make new friends, and have some fun. No Show Policy: If you realize you cannot attend an event, please change your RSVP to "Not Going". We don’t need an explanation; we just need to know that we don’t need to save a spot or wait for you. People cancel all the time for work, family, not feeling well, double booked, social anxiety, or you simply just do not feel like it. These are all ok reasons to cancel, just change your RSVP so the event host knows not to look for you. If you are a complete no show, do not send a message to the event host, and we have no idea why you didn’t show up you will get a message from me. If you completely ghosted us, you will be removed from the group. If you have a reason for no-showing, you will get 1 mulligan. I hate to have to kick people out, so please just keep your RSVPs updated.

Capital Area Fun Peeps
Fun Peeps. The name says it all! Who we are: Single, divorced, married, kids or no kids - it doesn't matter. We're all about getting groups of people together who like to have a good time. Our group's main purpose is FUN. We are not selling a service, product or idea (nor do we want people promoting or soliciting for their MLM opportunities). We bring together other fun people and create good times in hopes of building lasting friendships. We will be hosting a huge range of activities such as dining out, live music, bowling, sand v-ball, beach outings/picnics, potlucks, movies, dinner parties, wine tastings, happy hours, comedy clubs, sporting events, volunteer activities, miniature golf, shooting pool, game nights, road trips, hiking, biking & almost anything active, social and fun! We want to provide a wide range of activities because we know that everyone’s schedule is different. We do not expect you to attend every event, but attend the ones that work for you. Fun and memorable times occur when sharing experiences with other people. Bring your positive attitude and you will have a great time, however, in order to do this you need to participate. An active group means success for all of us. If there is an activity that you think we should include, please submit it as an idea or email me. Would you like to host an event? That would be fantastic, just let me know. Now all you need to do is just start signing up and enjoying the activities! Look forward to seeing you at an event soon. ATTENDANCE POLICY - If you wish to attend an event you must RSVP.  If for some reason you are unable to RSVP, you must contact the Event Host or Organizer prior to going to the event to receive their approval to attend. Post Oak Academy outdoor Basketball Courts in Groesbeck Neighborhood 2320 Post Oak Ln, Lansing, MI 48912 The outdoor courts are behind the school on Darien Drive **Sycamore Creek Church - NEW Eastwood Campus** **We hit different\*** \***keep** the best of faith and **leave** the rest \*LGBTQIA-**affirming** \*Jesus **and** justice \*working for racial **equity** \*platforming **artists** and **entrepreneurs** \***multi-culturally** curious, creative, compassionate   A lot of people haven’t given up on God or Jesus, but are about to give up or already have given up on the church because of its silence about racism and its exclusion of LGBTQ people. Sycamore Creek is a church that has moved from the suburbs into the city to start a NEW campus that will be an asset to the community by platforming artists, entrepreneurs, and all people who are multi-culturally curious, creative and compassionate.  We keep the best of faith and leave the rest.  We love Jesus AND justice. So if you're looking for a NEW faith community that is CURIOUS, where you don't have to check your questions or your brain at the door; is CREATIVE, you can experiment and try new things "playing jazz" on traditions; and is COMPASSIONATE, including everyone (Black, brown, male, female, LGBTQIA, etc.); then Sycamore Creek’s NEW Eastwood Campus is the church for you to check out.   Sycamore Creek is remodeling and launching in the church building (with the red tin roof) across from Eastwood Towne Center in the fall of 2023. We currently have two campuses: S Lansing (1919 S Penn) and Potterville (105 N Church St.). The future Eastwood Campus building is closed for remodeling, but we begin meeting weekly in September with a Grand Opening the weekend of September 28th  to October 1st.  The remodel includes  a performing arts center that will host local community theater and artists of all kinds and an incubator kitchen for food startup businesses.   For more info contact: Pastor Tom Arthur tom@sycamorecreekchurch.org [www.sycamorecreekchurch.org](http://www.sycamorecreekchurch.org) #sccmi #scceastwood #wehitdifferent

Code of Conduct

1. No disrespectful behavior. This includes threats, harassment, stalking, abuse, slurs, profanity, personal attacks, sexual remarks or innuendos, physical violence, public speculation about others, and any other behavior that you would not tolerate others display towards you.

2. Respect the presenter and other attendees

• Refrain from carrying on conversations during the presentation. If conversation is necessary, please leave the presentation room

• Ask questions but respect the presenter’s wishes regarding when to ask questions (some like questions during the presentation, others have specific Q&A time slots). Also, give others a chance to ask questions. If you have more than one question, give others a chance to pose theirs before you ask your next question.

• Don’t challenge the presenter on a point during the presentation. If you feel that the presenter’s information is completely incorrect or off base, signal one of the user group leaders, leave the room to present your information, and allow the user group leader to deal with it. Asking a question that might lead to clarification is one thing, directly disagreeing with the presenter leads to embarrassment of the presenter and confusion for other attendees.

• Avoid asking questions or making statements that will side-track the presentation. However it’s intended, it may be seen as hijacking the presentation.

3. No impersonations of a Microsoft or user group employee, agent, manager, host, or another user.

4. No illegal or offensive activities. Members will not publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material or discussion in any group forum or post. This includes, but is not limited to, child pornography, bestiality, incest, illegal drugs, software piracy, discriminatory/racist statements or images and harassment.

5. Accountability. Members are fully responsible and liable for anything they say (whether orally or in writing) or do. This includes any actions taken based on advice or information received in presentations, online forums or elsewhere. Remember, always test what you plan to do, regardless of the source of the information.

6. No libel or slander against the user group, Microsoft or other persons or entities. Libel includes false statements made in written form, such as statements posted to forums or other publicly accessible websites, electronic mail, or any other printed form.

7. No confidentiality violations. Members may inadvertently gain access to certain non-public information during their participation in the group and are expected to honor the confidentiality of the information.

8. No plagiarism. Members may post their own original work or work that they have written permission to post. If a member cites another author’s work, please provide any necessary attribution according to the requirements associated with the original author’s work. Learn more about copyright at:

9. No discrimination or harassment. This user group is committed to providing a harassment-free experience to members regardless of age, ancestry, color, gender identity or expression, marital status, medical condition, national origin, physical size, physical or mental disability, political affiliation, veteran status, race, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, or technology choices. Harassment is unwelcome verbal, physical or virtual behavior based on the characteristics identified above.

10. No sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is unwelcome verbal, physical or virtual behavior based on sex and includes gender-based harassment of a person of the same or different gender. Examples of sexual harassment include, but are not limited to:

Unwelcome sexual advances · Sexual comments or inappropriate gender-based jokes · Excessive, unwelcome romantic attention · Offering or conditioning an employment benefit or preferential treatment, like a promotion or job assignment, in exchange for sexual favors · Unwelcome physical contact

Sharing or displaying sexually explicit content · Using sexually degrading words Reporting Conduct Violations
