Welcome to the Hamtramck Hostel Meetup Group! Our group offers a variety of activities including movie nights, arts and entertainment events, and writing session. We believe in fostering a supportive community where all can have fun, explore their interests in movies, sci-fi series, good books, and arts. Join us for weekend fun, international friendships, mindfulness practice, games nights, ESL communication immersion, and support for international students. Meet other local members to ride, paddle, explore trails, talk gear and trade tips. We are here for anything fun outdoors and indoors. Some of our popular events include cycling, kayaking and skating but we are not limited to those. For example, hiking if there are leaders and enough interested members. Also, our events aren't limited to the city of Detroit, most of our events are in Southeast Michigan and there may be a few farther away. All levels of cyclists are welcome. We primarily do recreational rides on paved roads or trails. There will be group rides on streets with traffic. There will be group rides on the rails to trails that anyone can ride. Many are geared to a relaxed pace of 10-15 mph, distance varies. We may also plan some other rides such as mountain, fitness, and road biking, etc. if there is interest. All levels of paddlers are welcome. Many of us have kayaks but SUPs and canoes are also welcome and you can rent many places if you don't own. We primarily will be doing recreational paddling on local rivers with not much current, suitable for beginners or intermediate level. Some locations may be more advanced. There will also be other activities posted from time to time such as skating, social events or other activities that fit within the group's topics. The goal is to gather, make new friends and share activities that get you outdoors and/or keep you active. Your main profile picture should be a clear shot of your face so we can recognize you at events. Outdoor Afro is a community that reconnects and centers the Black experience with natural spaces and one another through recreational activities such as camping, hiking, biking, birding, fishing, gardening, skiing — and more! We use social media to create interest communities, events, and to help shift the visual representation of who gets outdoors. Here is where you can start (or expand) connecting with local Black people who share your outdoor interests and aspirations! This space centers Black people and Black joy in the outdoors. Black outdoor experiences, voices, history and context are centered and we say "**Black**" a lot. Non-Black people may attend if space is available, but if the amplification of Black joy and community makes you uncomfortable - this group will be a restless experience for you. This is a group for people are not currently active, but want to start getting active. We can set up meetups for walking, hiking, sports, etc. to get active and exercise. Let’s go from couch potato to active movers together! The location is southeast Michigan.

This group is for active (not a couch potato) single adults over 40. The intent of this group is to bring single like minded, cultured people together who love their culture and/or others but take a less serious approach to their religion. During any given event we will be running, biking, swimming, hiking, canoeing, skiing, snowshoe running/walking, picnics, amusement parks, movies, concerts, enjoying nights out on the town and even pot luck togethers over a bonfire while engaging in some friendly competition playing badminton and volleyball. This group is run by volunteers of Creative Society - Coordinationation Center of Michigan. Socially active members that are ready to connect with others, share ideas and build local communities. Our objective is to share your business, any good and uplifting news, foster strong relationships, strengthen local businesses, and spotlight small local nonprofits that are making a significant impact. We are a smaller group wanting to bring single people together, ages 50 and up, to create new friendships. \*This is not a dating group but a group of like-minded people enjoying each other's company.\* Most activities will occur in northern Macomb County (18 Mile Road and north). We'll get together in smaller groups (10 people or less) so we can really get to know each other. Getting out for walks in area parks will occur at least once or twice a week (depending on group interest, weather and my availability). (If you have facebook, join us @ Midwest Metro Tennis League Facebook Group) This meetup has been organized to provide all levels of tennis players an opportunity to drop-in and play doubles or singles once a week. We typically have a court or two for beginners (or rusty racquets who haven't  played in a while), a couple of courts for intermediate and a couple of courts for advanced players. The approach is fairly relaxed. You can choose to rally/practice the entire time or actually games and sets. It's entirely up to you and the people on your court. You also have the option of switching courts so that you can play with different people and/or different levels. You don't have to commit to playing weekly. For those who are unfamiliar with us we are more than just a ski club and we are not affiliated with General Motors (long story). We are simply a dynamic social club. This is a group intended for couples in  the Macomb area that are in their mid 35's and up.

This group is about about socializing and making new friends in the area.

Events will include dinners, cooking classes, concerts, wine tastings, happy hours, local events, etc.

There will be 2-3 outings every month and most events will be during the weekends.

Its a great way to meet new people and try new places. So bring your better half and get out of the house for some fun.

Want to reconnect with Earth, eat healthy, get exercise, learn new skills, and meet great people? This is a group for folks interested in sharing knowledge on foraging and living from the land. All skill levels and ages are welcome. We hold a variety of classes for our members. The topics of these classes are chosen based on member interest and range from edible and medicinal plant walks to mushroom growing to cooking classes to tanning and primitive tool making. Fees for these classes will vary. Due to the nature of our activities, some of our events are held in areas that are not accessible to those with limited mobility. This will be noted in the event description. We never want to exclude anyone from classes due to cost, so if you cannot afford the fee please contact the instructor to discuss barter or work study.

As an organizer, I pay $30 / month. You can help me out by paying annual dues of $12 on the anniversary of your membership to this group. If our group grows large enough our dues can be reduced. So, to make it easy on yourself, invite other people to join as well. I am not here to make money off of other people. This is a group for anyone in the (western) Macomb/(eastern) Oakland area of METRO DETROIT  who still enjoys going out to the theater to see movies. All are welcome. I have also been asked to try to keep costs down and continue to post free/low cost events that may be held at libraries, churches, cultural centers, parks etc. Participate in what you like/bypass what you don't. The group was started to meet other movie enthusiasts. I first helped with posting and hosting events then took over as organizer of the group on August 3, 2016. I enjoy going to the movies and want to continue sharing the movie experience with others. We also attend other local events, such as, concerts in the park. Of course, we can always add on grabbing a bite to eat before or after a movie.

Why the name change? We will mainly gather at AMC Forum 30 (Sterling Heights), MJR Marketplace 20 (Sterling Heights), MJR Partridge Creek 14 (Clinton Twp.), MJR Troy Grand 16 (Troy) and Emagine Theater (Macomb or Rochester Hills). So, now there are many surrounding communities, not just Rochester.

PLEASE CHANGE YOUR RSVP if your plans change and you can no longer attend an event. It is very rude to leave your fellow members hanging, not knowing if you will show or not! If this becomes a habit (updated - 2 no shows), you will be dropped. Also, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP FOR MULTIPLE EVENTS ON THE SAME DAY/TIME. Again, if this becomes a habit, you will be dropped.
