Omaha Women Connecting Women
Welcome to Omaha Women Connecting Women (OWCW) in Omaha and neighboring communities. Our group consists of women from all walks of life; 18 - 85 (so far) who are single, married, divorced, widowed, etc. We love to get together to meet new women to form new friendships. We accept women wherever they may be in life. We have so much fun playing games, dancing, hiking/walking, going to restaurants or going to someone's home for a shared meal. We have plans to expand our events to plays, theater, movies, crafting, concerts, shopping and in the warmer weather more outdoor activities as well. We are always eager to hear your suggestions and will post your event upon your request and approval of the co-hosts. OWCW is an upbeat group intended to be inclusive and non-judgmental. In order to accomplish this, we kindly ask you to keep within the following guidelines: \- This is a "women's only" group\. As such\, **no men are allowed to join us** **or be invited** **to join us a**t **any of our events at anytime!** \- As this is intended to be a safe zone for us women\, we ask that during group events\, no controversial topics be discussed including politics\, pandemics\, vaccination status\, religion\, etc\. \- When we have events at public locations that serve food and beverages\, it is best practice to purchase from there to help support local venues\. An option is to eat before you come\. Please do not bring outside food or beverages into the establishment\. We will ensure water is always available\. \- Respect and privacy are important aspects of this group\. At events\, we may ask for contact information\, but you are **never required** to provide it. Your information will not be shared with anyone outside the group, and within the group only on an "as needed basis" for carpooling, private event locations, etc. Our group has blossomed since its inception in May 2022. We currently have over 500 members. Some members meet frequently, others have only been one or two times, and others we have yet to meet. This is the beauty of this group. You can come as often or infrequently as your life allows, just know, you will always be welcome.    We look forward to seeing you again, or for the first time! OWCW Hosts

Omaha Paddlers

Welcome to the Omaha Paddlers Meetup Group!

<br>

We are a loosely organized bunch of folks interested in paddling on waters in and around the Omaha, Nebraska area. If you like to paddle your kayak, standup paddleboard, canoe, or just about anything that is human powered and floats, then you are welcome to join.

<br>

The event organizers are just ordinary folks like you who want to help folks like you get together for fun on the water. If you'd like to host an event, please send a message to the administrator and we'll get you started.

<br>

We do have a few basic rules:

<br>

Real Paddle People Only - No bots. No scammers. No spammers. No stalkers. We may undertake some form or forms of verification during or after the signup process to ensure that you're an real person. You will be asked to send $1 via Venmo or PayPal. We’ll refund it right away. Or you can email or message an edited copy of your ID that shows your name and photo. We don’t care about any other personally identifiable information. Just crop, edit, or mask out everything but your name and photo. This is for the safety of our members and to ensure the overall quality of the content you receive via our Meetup group. We may review the membership roll from time to time and remove inactive or inappropriate accounts. The best way to stay a member is to participate in Omaha Paddler Meetup events. If you feel your request to join or your membership has been inappropriately denied or revoked, please reach out to an administrator.

<br>

Adults Only - Dogs are welcome but kids are NOT. We are here to make friends and have fun. We are adults only but we're not a singles group; everyone is welcome regardless of relationship status.

<br>

Events are BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat). Equipment and transportation is not provided by the group but can be coordinated between members.

<br>

All water related and outdoor activities have some risk. Always use your best judgement - never go along with the group if you think it's unsafe or beyond your abilities. Be sure to follow best safety practices and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations for the area you are paddling. This includes having the appropriate safety gear, such as an approved PFD, whistle, and safety lights (when applicable).

Nebraska Adventure Group

Elkhorn, NE

Nebraska Adventure Group
Based in the Omaha Metro tri-city area, Nebraska Adventure Group (NAG) is a social group of outdoor enthusiasts who live and breathe outdoor adventure! With the right knowledge and resources, there are plenty of fun and exciting escapes to be found right here in the Midwest. Our goal is to provide fun and safe opportunities for friends of all abilities, experience, and fitness levels to engage with nature and explore the outdoors. **ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS** Adventure day hiking, camping, multi-day backpacking, cycling and mountain biking, canoeing and kayaking, rock climbing, snow sports, water sports, guest speakers and educational workshops ... our group members are interested in every activity imaginable related to fitness, nature, and outdoor adventure! Not only do we organize our own outings, but we also partner with other Meetup groups and participate in public events hosted by community organizations and outside sponsors. **EXPENSES AND FEES** Event Hosts are volunteer group members and do not charge income-generating fees as reimbursement for their time. Most of our outings are held at local parks, trails, or other public venues. While most venues are free to the public, NAG members are responsible for purchasing their own facility passes and park permits as needed. As a group activity, NAG members may attend public events organized by outside third-parties. On occasion, the third-party host may charge an activity fee. In addition, members who choose to participate in big-ticket outings such as long-distance backpacking trips and rock climbing may incur significant personal expenses for equipment, travel, and the hiring of a professional guide or outfitter. If an expense or fee is required to participate in an outing, it will be clearly itemized in the meetup description. Expenses are to be paid upfront when a member RSVPs to attend the outing. **LEAVE NO TRACE PRINCIPLES** All outings will be organized in accordance with the seven [Leave No Trace Principles](https://lnt.org/learn/seven-principles-overview). It is ***our*** responsibility to leave an area in better shape than when we arrived to present those who follow the opportunity to experience nature at its most pristine. Event Hosts and participants are expected to familiarize themselves with and adhere to the Leave No Trace Principles. **PLAN AHEAD AND PREPARE** We encourage members of all fitness and skill levels to join our group. We all appreciate the core motivation to challenge ourselves, learn new skills, and expand our horizons. However, when RSVPing to an outing, please make a reasonable assessment of your abilities and equipment to ensure you can safely participate in the activity. Allow plenty of time before the outing to double-check your equipment and ensure it is in safe working order. Feel free to post in the comments section on the Meetup page if you have any questions or concerns about the outing. There are plenty of gear checklists and resources available online. Ideally, each participant will be appropriately equipped and self-sufficient; however, if you're just getting started, equipment may be rented from the [UNO Outdoor Venture Center](https://www.unomaha.edu/student-life/wellness/campus-recreation/ovc/rentals.php) or another group member may have some extra gear to loan out. **MINOR CHILDREN** NAG is an adult-oriented group. While most of our outings are targeted toward adults, we also organize special outings, picnics, and social gatherings which friends and family members of all ages may attend. Prior to bringing minor children, please be considerate of your fellow adventurers and contact the Event Host for participation guidelines which may be imposed by the NAG group, guide, outfitter, or venue. **PETS** Please ensure due diligence if bringing pets. Some locations require pets to be on a leash; some require pets to be within voice control; others do not allow pets at all. Regardless of any specific allowances or restrictions, please be considerate of your fellow adventurers and contact the Event Host for permission prior to bringing your pet. Event Hosts should be aware of possible health and safety issues which may be aggravated by the presence of pets. Service animals are always welcome. **HOW TO JOIN NEBRASKA ADVENTURE GROUP!** Joining our group is very simple! Previous outdoor experience is not required. Anyone with an adventurous spirit, a desire to meet new people, and a willingness to explore new challenges are invited to become a member. You will be presented with a few questions when joining the group. These questions provide an opportunity for new friends to learn more about you and help Event Hosts to organize fun outings which match your personal goals, interests, and skill level. We do require members of our group to use their true identity and display a clear, close-up headshot as the primary photo on the Nebraska Adventure Group website. The intent behind this requirement is for convenience and safety to allow members and Event Hosts to know who they will be meeting and to easily recognize each other at outings; some of which may be held in crowded venues. Please read the help page for more information about [How to Change and Display Your Profile Photo](https://www.meetup.com/NE-Adventurers/pages/23951824/How_to_Change_and_Display_Your_Profile_Photo/). **ABOUT THE LEADERSHIP TEAM** Nebraska Adventure Group may occasionally contract with outside instructors, guides, or outfitters; however, NAG Organizers and Event Hosts are not industry professionals. We are simply volunteer members with varying degrees of experience who enjoy investing our time helping others to appreciate and experience the outdoors. **DISCLAIMER** *By choosing to join Nebraska Adventure Group (NAG), I understand and agree to abide by the Membership Guidelines and to display a clear, close-up headshot as the primary profile photo on Nebraska Adventure Group pages.* *I understand and agree that Nebraska Adventure Group Organizers and Event Hosts are not industry professionals, that participation in NAG activities and events is at my own risk, and that NAG is not liable for property damage, injury, or loss.* *I understand and agree that Nebraska Adventure Group members may attend public events organized by outside third-parties and that NAG is not liable for my safety while attending those events.*

Women bonded together by challenging themselves in the outdoors. Women who naturally encouraged one another and connected right away. Women who live to LIVE.     🦸‍♀️ The friendships are REAL.   🦸‍♀️ The vulnerability on the trails is REAL.   🦸‍♀️ The empowerment is REAL.   🦸‍♀️ The personal growth is REAL.   🦸‍♀️ The cuss words, inside jokes, and SHE-naningans are REAL.     And we’ve been doing it since 2014! That year, Explorer Chick founder, Nicki Bruckmann was a wife, cat mom and home owner who worked full-time in corporate finance. Instead of feeling fulfilled by ticking all the boxes, she found herself feeling stifled. She made the choice to break away from it all and step out of that life. To figure things out, she needed a vacation reset. But not just any vacation. She wanted something that would feed her adventurous soul and push boundaries. But the thing about divorce? You lose that built-in travel buddy. Believing that other women must also be in the same situation; craving adventure and travel and not wanting to do it all alone, she launched Explorer Chick! [Check out the whole story here](https://explorerchick.com/about/the-explorer-chick-story/#:~:text=The%20Explorer%20Chick%20Story%20In%20a%20former%20life%2C,buy%20homes%20from%20the%20Sears%20catalog%21%29%20in%20Cincinnati.). Launching in 2015, Explorer Chick ran one trip with three bold ladies looking for adventure. From there, this amazing community of women continues to grow, and in 2022 more than 1100 women traveled with us on 133 trips over 5 continents!    Whether you arrive as a solo traveler or with several of your closest gal pals, you’ll be greeted by a group of like-minded women travelers of all ages who love to go hiking, camping, rafting, backpacking, canyoning, surfing, kayaking, climbing and more. Basically, we’re all in on anything that gets us outdoors and active!   We travel the US National Parks and bucket list destinations like Iceland, Jordan, Galapagos, Croatia, Uganda and so many more.   The best part? You are taken care of by Explorer Chick’s professional, certified guides. They handle all the details: from food to accommodations to gear and extra words of encouragement when you need them the most. Leaving you to simply “mindlessly wander”.    “Okay, so how do I join Explorer Chick?”     It’s easy!   We’re not a club. There are no dues. Smart Success Business Network of Omaha

Smart Success Business Network of Omaha

"FRIENDS HELPING FRIENDS MAKE BUSINESS CONNECTIONS" - J.Z.

Calling all Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and those who dream of running their own venture!

If you desire to expand your business network, make more friends, find new customers and become a leader in your community, we have a fun and informal social networking group that is just right for you.

We have met weekly at different places in and around town to connect with others & learn "best practice" sales, marketing, finance and time management tactics and strategies from your city’s top entrepreneurs. Our most consistent venue is the big conference room in the La Vista Library (9110 Giles Rd).  At our last meetings, we have discussed moving to every other week (especially going into Spring and Summer with all of the activities that our members are involved in.  So, we are giving that a try to see how that works.

We have a topic each week (usually requested by our members) in a short presentation that is geared to help our members find Smart Success in their businesses.  Around those presentations and in response to them, we do REAL networking - helping each other find success.  We have a group goal of helping each of our members find five customers that they can directly attribute to being in Smart Success Business Network.

The Smart Success Business Network is a community run by volunteers with 101 Meetup groups in 101 cities across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and United States.

OUR EVENTS ARE FREE AND ALL BUSINESS OWNERS & MANAGERS ARE WELCOME.
• No attendance commitment required.
• You can arrive and leave on your schedule.
• No elevator pitches in front of the group required.
• Informal bar/restaurant meetings in the evenings.
• Most meetups are between Tuesdays & Thursdays - our typical is Tuesday from 5:30 - 7:00.
• No long sit down meals next to strangers.

Our mission is to encourage business success by recruiting small business owners to give group talks to their peers, potential customers and suppliers and new entrepreneurs to share their expertise and offer words of support and encouragement to their community.

 We are also known as a "Pay it Forward" group. You might find your ideal client/customer here in your first meetup but it's more likely you will meet someone who can benefit from goods & services offered by your friends.

By networking to help other business owners and recommending products or services by other members, the benefits of increased sales accumulate to everyone in the group.

Benefits of networking with us:

You will learn how to avoid unprofitable markets, attract the right customers, block negative critical thinking, be both effective and efficient, understand cash flow and much more.

Though powerful stories and proven strategies, you will learn how to boldly harness your creative force, break free of fear and get your life and business aligned with your values and the market's needs.

With the right knowledge and support, you can design a life and business that embodies strength and boldness that you know you are capable of. See you at one of our meetings soon.
