Rockingham Outdoors and More...
Hi all! My intention is for this to be a very friendly group of people (at least nearing 40 if not over) who love to do local things outdoors and fun activities indoors. I've lived in this county for the better part of 20 years and am finding there's lots to EXPLORE right here! Hiking the White Mountains is great, but this group will provide many options closer to home for outdoor fun. We'll have occasional distant excursions as well though. During the colder months, we'll do lots of active indoor activities too! Bring your sense of adventure as this will be MY first time doing some of these walks/hikes!  And since I have a deep intellectual side, I'd also like to plan some discussions on topics of interest like or maybe even have guest speakers... A note on the current state of meetup affairs as it compares to R.O.A.M.:  Because I'm concerned about the impact on the environment of bringing a huge group of people on a nature trail and because I feel huge groups negatively impact the experience of others who are trying to enjoy the beauty and quiet of the outdoors, our groups are limited to 20-25 people.  While Mountain National Forest Rules recommend all groups be limited to 10 people and and require the limitation in designated "wilderness" areas. We also will never charge annual dues or membership fees, claiming that it helps with the cost of running a meetup group (seriously...collecting a $15 annual fee from thousands of members is a money making venture, not a group of friends getting together).  This groups operates in the original spirit of meetup. We do this because we love to and want to share it! Please join if Rockingham County destinations are convenient for you, you love friendly people and you love to have fun!

Dover Area and Beyond Adventures

Dover, NH

Dover Area and Beyond Adventures
Are you new in town? Not a native New Hampshire-ite? Are you lifelong local who likes meeting new people with different perspectives? Please join us! This Meetup was started for New Hampshire transplants. Now the group is a mix of those newly arrived, transplants who have been here for years, and lifelong locals who enjoy the mix. The goal of this group is to create an environment for making new friends and creating new experiences for those making their home in and around Seacoast New Hampshire. We enjoy trivia competitions, sunrises at the ocean, trips on walking trails, historical activities, karaoke, brunch featuring live music, movies, bingo, museum adventures, picnics and more! Never hesitate to offer up a suggestion for an activity to your organizers! One of the fun things we do is if the group wins a prize at a trivia event or similar event we collect the prize and add it to our annual picnic drawing event we do in the summer. For every time you attend one of our meetup activities as an active dues paying member you are entered into the drawing. **Please be considerate of other attendees and venues. First of all, only sign up if you've checked your calendar and are sure you can make it. Do not take a slot if you might join us. As always, if there is a wait list, your organizer team is quick to expand our numbers if the venue permits. If you cannot make an event you are signed up for, please remove yourself as soon as you can, so others can sign up to enjoy the event, and the rest of the group isn't waiting for someone who isn't coming.** No-Shows will be tracked, as well as drop outs within 3 hours of the event start time, and habitual offenders will unfortunately be removed from the group. Seacoast NH Permaculture

Dover, NH

Seacoast NH Permaculture
Permaculture aims to regenerate healthy, productive landscapes and communities by consciously applying ecological principles to the design of human habitats. It is a theory, a mindset, and a lens for looking at the world in order to create a sustainable and just planet for all.  Permaculture’s three ethics - Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share - and its twelve principles are used to design systems that create and foster healthy relationships.  Through this discipline, each of us can take greater responsibility for ourselves and our world by developing life skills for sustainable living to become active participants and producers. *“Permaculture gives us a toolkit for moving from a culture of fear and scarcity to one of love and abundance.” -Toby Hemenway (permaculturist & author)* What we do:  We build community, share ideas and learn how to move forward mindfully and in tune with the ethics of Earth Care, People Care and Fair Share.  Through the Seacoast NH Permaculture Meetup and other partner organizations we bring people together by offering workshops, speakers, movies, discussions, swaps, potluck meals and other events. *"We don't know what details of a truly sustainable future are going to be like, but we need options, we need people experimenting in all kinds of ways and permaculturists are one of the critical gangs that are doing that." -Dr. David Suzuki (geneticist, broadcaster, environmentalist)* Our mission:  Seacoast NH Permaculture Group empowers individuals and communities to work together to create resiliency through the use of Permaculture in the NH seacoast area and beyond.  We inspire and teach each other by sharing skills, knowledge, and regenerative practices, nurturing our connections and celebrating our work. *“You cannot save the land apart from the people or the people apart from the land.” -Wendell Berry (farmer, environmentalist, author)* Land Acknowledgment: Indigenous cultures, past and present, have been an inspiration to our learning and the development of permaculture. To honor them and to deepen our connection to and understanding of the land we are living on, we share that the Seacoast of NH is the traditional ancestral homeland of the Abenaki, Pennacook and Wabanaki Peoples. We are grateful to them for stewarding this area so beautifully for thousands of years and continuing that work now. They invite us to join their efforts – see indigenousnh.com to learn more.

Sacred Sound Circles

Eliot, ME

Sacred Sound Circles
Healing the nervous system through the power of sound, intention and compassionate group resonance. More than passive sound healing, Sacred Sound Circles are a blend of sound bath, devotional singing, and support circle ceremony - lead by experienced group facilitator and singer Jessica Gaines. For location and registration, visit www.sacredsoundcircles.com What to Expect: The Role of Music and Singing: Together we will engage with sacred songs from various traditions - each carrying a specific intention, aimed at facilitating release and healing. These songs are mantras that are easily learned by Circle participants who join in singing - if they feel called. These sacred songs are accompanied by various sound healing instruments that contribute to emotional and somatic release, leaving participants feeling, paradoxically, both deeply relaxed and invigorated. Inner and Outer Circles: If you resonate with the song's intention and want to receive the healing support of the group, you are invited to sit in the inner circle. Those in the outer circle then focus the light of their attention on those in the inner circle and, led by Jessica, sing together - offering their voices as a form of prayer and support. While in the inner circle, you are lovingly invited to simply receive the care of the group. Power of Focused Healing: Experience the profound impact of the group’s collective focus on your healing, as well as the deep connection and fulfillment that comes from focusing on another’s healing. This creates a powerful exchange of energy, where both giving and receiving are equally transformative. Participation Levels: You are welcome to engage at your own comfort level, whether that means actively singing or simply listening and resonating with the energy of the group. No singing experience is required, and you are invited to participate even if you prefer to remain silent. Join us in this nurturing space where music and sound become a medium for healing, connection, and transformation. Whether you choose to sing or listen, your presence contributes to the collective energy and healing power of the group. For location and registration, visit www.sacredsoundcircles.com

Raymond Hiking Meetup Group

Raymond, NH

Welcome to the Raymond Hiking Meetup Group! If you have an adventurous spirit & love being in the great outdoors, then this is the group for you. We are a community of hiking, camping, kayaking, orienteering and fitness enthusiasts who enjoy exploring the natural beauty that Raymond & its surrounding areas have to offer. Whether you're a novice or experienced, come join us as we embark on adventures, forge new friendships, & create memories. Let's embrace the wonders of nature together! I used to be a member of the Raymond Area Outdoors Group. Over time it lost its leaders so it was purged from Meetup. I hope to restart the group & make it a fun, functional group, focused mostly on hiking. Most hikes will be in the Raymond area. Hikes will happen year round. Contact me if you want to assist as organizer, have suggestions or requests for a specific hike. Most meetup groups charge a small fee for each event. I do not want that pain so I paid all meetup fees for a year. Please don't try to pay me for any events. Instead of paying me, consider paying 25$, however, (any amount makes you a member) for a Bear Paw Regional Greenways membership. I'll try to have membership application forms at all hikes. Bear-Paw Regional Greenways PO Box 19, Deerfield, NH 03037 I also want to plug a local outdoor equipment company in Dover, NH called NEMO. They support many outdoor organizations and their equipment is as good or better than anyone's.

NH Hike & Brews Club (20s, 30s, & 40s)

Exeter, NH

NH Hike & Brews Club (20s, 30s, & 40s)
This group is for anyone in their 20s, 30s, or 40s (must be 21+) who is interested in hiking, regardless of experience. The reason for the age restriction is to encourage younger adults to get out and enjoy the outdoors and make friends! For this reason, we mostly do easy to moderate difficulty hikes, but we occasionally do some more challenging hikes and camping trips for those interested and able. Typically (though not always), we will go out after each hike to a brewery or pub for food and beer. Often, members will bring beer up with them to enjoy and/or share at the top. All members are encouraged to post their own events here. Members who host events will have their dues waived. Events can be hikes, other outdoor excursions, visits to breweries, brewfests, parties, etc. If you are not sure if people would be interested in your idea, feel free to use the Discussion feature to ask! When you join, you will have a 6 month free trial before you are required to pay dues ($10 per year). I will send out an e-mail reminder before this happens. If you host at least one event for the group, you will never owe any dues. Our dues help pay for the annual Meetup organizer fees, and it is a way to encourage active memberships and event organizers (which means more fun events!). Any leftover money will be used for occasional meetup socials and/or parties. And beer! Rules for Membership: 1\. Treat everyone with respect\. 2\. Keep your RSVPs up\-to\-date if your plans change\, and please message your event host if you will be late\. We do not officially have a "no\-show" policy\, but we do keep track of no shows\, and if it becomes a problem\, you will be spoken to\. 3\. Be safe\! Make sure you are in good physical condition to handle the difficulty of the hike\, wear proper footwear\, bring water\, appropriate clothing for the weather\, and read event descriptions for other suggestions of equipment to bring\. You are responsible for your own safety\!
