Monadnock Region Outdoor Adventures

Jaffrey, NH

Monadnock Region Outdoor Adventures
This is a group for those who live in the Monadnock region and would like to enjoy outdoor adventures in the company of good people. Moderate hikes on the lower peaks in the region and beyond that are 2500 feet or lower, easy or moderate hikes/walks in the region such as Gap Mountain, Wapack, Little Monadnock, Bald Mountain, Harris Center Conservation, Madame Sherri Forest and easy grade nature trails; kayaking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, and winter snowshoeing are just a few of the things you may find here. Winter hiking is also offered. Novice level and above are welcome. For novice but experienced hikers interested in exploring the summits of the 4000 footers, the Monadnock Region can be a great introduction to the outdoors. With moderate hiking challenges (600-1000 foot elevation gains) the regions well maintained trails are the perfect training grounds for people looking to get into shape to tackle the tall peaks. Looking for some R & R? The region offers amble-uninterrupted sounds of nature that will melt your daily stresses away. **Our pace:** Summit/elevation hikes are typically 1 to 1.8 mph. Easy conservation area hikes are 2 to 2.5 mph. We hike at a casual pace with multiple breaks for rest or photos. If this is not your pace or hiking style we may not be the group for you. **Hike length:** Typically hikes are 3 to 6 miles but more on average of 3 to 4 miles. **Donations welcome to offset cost of the organizer dues. Current dues for the organizer is $210 year. No obligation but if you feel obliged you can give a donation to the organizer of this meetup group. At the current time we do not plan to charge dues for membership.** **RSVP etiquette -** * *When RSVP to events we ask that you RSVP yes if you feel certain you can attend/participate. We ask that if you change your RSVP please make the change as soon as you know so others can go in your place.* * *Frequent RSVP changes from yes to no may result in a member being staying on the waitlist for future events.* * *If anyone cancels the day of the event more than 4 times they will be removed from our roster.* * *Any member who signs up for their first event and then **NO SHOWS** without communication to event host will receive a courtesy message asking for reason. First **NO SHOW** will be forgiven but **2nd NO SHOW** a member will be released from our roster.* **Events Host/Event Organizers wanted!**  I encourage the members of this group to consider becoming an event host or event organizers. We need event organizers who are experienced for hiking, kayaking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing and cycling. Please private message organizer if interested. Criteria to be an event organizer is a minimum of attending one hike with this group. I will make an exception if you are an event organizer in another meetup group or similar such as AMC. ***Photo Policy*** \- Safety of all members is our priority\. For this reason\, we require all members to have a profile photo of themselves that is forward facing where your face is able to be seen clearly\. Our organizers need to recognize members at events\. Members who do not have a recognizable and fairly current photo are not allowed on events\. If a potential member does not have an approved photo for this meetup group you will not be allowed to join but can reapply with an appropriate photo of yourself\. **Happy Trails.... Rail Trail Cycling Adventures

Jaffrey, NH

Rail Trail Cycling Adventures
This group is for like-minded people who are active and are 40-50 years old or older. We are enjoying the journey of our adventures and taking our time. We are a group who wants to meet new friends and participate in groups activities. We keep our event attendance at no more than 8-12 cyclists allowing all attendees to have interaction with each other. You will not find a large cycling event in this group.  We also ride at a slower pace of 6-10 mph and take multiple breaks to rest or for scenic vistas. We primarily have events on the the weekends or Thursdays (spring and fall). Let's explore the wonderful rail trails of New England by bicycle (primarily Southern NH, and rail trails 90 minutes from Jaffrey, NH that will include trails in Massachusetts). Learning the history of the rail trails along the way. Explore nature walks, beautiful gardens and scenic areas of New England. Perhaps some easy hikes or yoga. The focal events will primarily be biking on rail trails. The secondary events will be nature walks. Winter activities will be offered - snowshoeing, skiing or snowboarding, and easy winter hikes. **Donations welcome to offset cost of the organizer dues. Current dues for the organizer is $199 year. No obligation but if you feel obliged you can give a donation to the organizer of this meetup group. At the current time we do not plan to charge dues for membership.** **GUESTS:** Please contact the event organizer if you would like to bring a guest. All guests must abide by this meetup groups policies. However, our preference is your guest joins our group. **Event hosts/Event organizers needed** \- Because our group spans from New Hampshire\, Massachusetts\, Vermont\, and potentially beyond\, we need regional hosts to maintain an active group\. If interested send me a message\. **PHOTO POLICY** \- Please maintain a forward facing profile photo of yourself where your entire face is able to be seen clearly\. For safety reasons our members and organizers need to recognize you at events\. Members without this photo are **not allowed** to join our group nor participate in our group events.    **RSVP ETIQUETTE**: We hope when you RSVP to an event, you are committing to the event or you feel certain you will be able to attend. We understand sometimes the unexpected occurs and you need to cancel. If you cannot make it to an event, we ask that you please edit your RSVP at least two days prior to the event date or as soon as you know **and** leave a comment that you will be unable to attend as courtesy to other attendees and the event organizer. Changing your RSVP the night before the event or less than 24 hours before the event gives the organizer very short notice and is disappointing to others who are expecting you to attend.  Any member who cancels their RSVP the day of the event without a valid reason three or more times, may be removed from the group at the discretion of the organizer. ***Cancelling your RSVP with our group due to moving off a waitlist (and moved to a going list) with another meetup groups event that is the same day as ours is not respectful to our group. Frequent changes to RSVP's may result in your removal from our group.*** **If you are WAITLISTED on another groups event, please do not sign up for an event with our group until either you take yourself of the other meetup group event or it looks like you will not get onto the other groups going list. Please delay signing up for our event until you know with high probability that you can attend.** ***Please be respectful to our attendees and organizers who are looking forward to seeing you.***   **DOGS:** We will allow dogs on nature walks or hikes. Dogs are not allowed on cycling events. Dogs must be well-behaved and on a traditional leash. We ask that you do not have your dog on a retractable leash. If the event venue does not allow dogs, it will be posted in the event description. **LIABILITY STATEMENT:**   The organizers of this meetup are volunteers; you release and hold harmless the leader(s) and all members of this group from any and all claims for property damage, injury, illness, disability, and/or death - including those caused by negligence and/or other reasons. Nashua, NH

Do you set high goals for yourself? Have you ever thought of, or have you already created your own business? Are you striving to achieve your life’s purpose and create a legacy? If you answered yes to any of these then this meetup group is for you .

Being successful or becoming successful is challenging but it should not be a chore, so let’s add a bit of fun along with an additional support team to our adventure. My vision is for us to progress through serious and fun activities which would consist of (a) formal meetings over dinner or via a house party’s (virtual/non-virtual) with guest speakers, providing each of us the opportunity to address and learn from the guest and group; and (b) informal meetings consisting of outdoor activities – hiking/biking, visiting museums or historical locations (to see what drove others to pursue their life’s passion ultimately improving our lives). It is my hope that through these activities we will have the opportunity to talk to each other on a one on one basis subsequently speeding up our respective successes.

My ultimate goal is to develop a Southern New Hampshire Peer Group of passion driven people who encourage and challenge each to go outside their comfort zone to become their best selves.

But Most of All Let’s Meet Up to Celebrate Ourselves

And as always, the necessary details:
