It's better Outdoors
Here is the 2024 annual email for those that may not have received it or are new to the group and didn't get the email blast: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MN1Vs4gPeUfZ9wMXpXAOmj_84s9gIeBK9XaH_doCUYY/edit?usp=sharing This is a group for anyone that loves to adventure outdoors and wants to do it with other people, even if they are complete strangers. If you like to hike, camp, raft, ski, board, travel and other activities this is THE group for you. If you're only looking for happy hours, this isn't the group for you, this is NOT a singles group. We plan happy hours now and then to get the members of the group together in social settings to discuss future adventures - some good plans can be made over a beer or two. And all good adventures end with a drink! It's better with someone else... It's better with beer/drinks... It's Better Outdoors... Come join us! Our motto is : "We don't talk quietly, hike slowly, go to bed early or only have just one drink" Please make sure to read the Waiver (General Release of Liability). By joining the group you accept the policy decribed here:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x-HMpzi-4XKZPa-7XTk-nQIa-v0CwZj5kgehs7mSnGw/edit?usp=sharing Note: this is NOT a beginners group and events are typically geared towards those with some experience usually at an intermediate or advanced level depending on the event - ie: we don't hike slow and don't do short hikes Please make sure you also read the 'What is expected of you' as described here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C3oqyau0EjNVnHyKoc1DH0fi5PmLlB7wVH4-eSykZUg/edit?usp=sharing Joining the group also means you're ok with being photographed during adventures - we always take pics: for the memories and for promotion of future events (we can't always accommodate a 'no photo' request) This is a real meetup group, this is NOT a business nor am I promoting a business and I do not promote businesses. If you see an event posted that means that I will be there to meet you, greet you, do the activity with you and have a drink with you during or afterwards. We are also not a networking group and do not tolerate solicitation of members. We welcome anyone in their 20s - 50s of any gender, race or nationality. But please email the event organizer first if you want to bring a dog...sometimes they are ok and sometimes not. Liberal Leaning Ladies

Mullica Hill, NJ

Liberal Leaning Ladies

If you are interested in becoming a part of a social group of mostly retired ladies over 55, who are liberal minded and with positive attitudes, this may be the group for you. It is not a political group, per se. However, given the current state of things in our country, we would like to gather together a social group of like-minded women who are not avid Trump supporters. If you support him, you may not feel comfortable in this group. You do not have to be a liberal to join us, but you need to be comfortable with ladies who lean that way politically.

The founders of this group are retired, but we have no real age requirements. Most of the activities we plan to do will be scheduled during weekdays, during daytime hours. We all happen to live in south Jersey in a variety of locations, and most, but not all, of our activities will be scheduled in south Jersey. If you don’t mind coming to this side of the river, we absolutely welcome ladies from Delaware or Pennsylvania as well.

One of the goals of this group is to encourage a diverse group of women to join us: all ethnicities, nationalities, religions, sexual orientations etc. are welcome! Recent BLM events and circumstances have made us keenly aware of how important it is to strike up friendships with a diverse group of ladies so all of us can come to understand each other better.

At this writing, we are just coming out of Covid lockdown, so some of the activities we used to do may not be possible for a while. Here are some things we like to do:

- Go out for breakfast or lunch, including international cuisines
- Have potlucks and international potlucks
- Have picnics
- Play cards or other games
- Attend crafting classes or events
- Go for walks
- Go to festivals
- Play mini-golf or driving range
- Watch movies
- Go to museums
- Take a cooking class
- Do charity work
- Help get out the vote
Occasionally, we might even do day trips. We are definitely open to other ideas you may have. We look forward to meeting you!

Delaware Valley Screenwriters & Filmmakers

Glassboro, NJ

Are you an aspiring screenwriter or filmmaker in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area? Or perhaps you have had some success already, but have not reached your true potential? Are you interested in networking with other like-minded local writers and filmmakers? Would you like to learn about all the resources you should be taking advantage of to truly perfect your craft? Would you benefit by workshopping concepts and pages with other serious writers? Perhaps screenwriting isn't yet your day job, and you are struggling to make your writing a regular priority in your busy life? Or maybe you are interested in traveling to New York, LA, or elsewhere with others to attend an industry related event? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then we have the group you have been waiting for. Committed writers, at any experience level, interested in writing for film, television, or the Internet are welcome to join. Non fiction and fiction writers interested in adapting a work, or trying their hand at screenwriting are also welcome, as are producers and directors who are looking to collaborate. You must be 18 years or older to become a member and need to have a sincere and passionate interest in the screenwriting and/or filmmaking process. Dues are not required for membership and the general meetings are free, but certain events may require a nominal fee. Donations are always greatly appreciated to help offset our operating costs. We are an active screenwriting community in the Southern NJ/Philadelphia area. We hold monthly meetings at various locations to discuss and study our craft, including inviting guest speakers to share their expertise and successes. We also meet regularly at the movies and then go out for food and drinks afterwards to discuss and share opinions as to what worked and didn't work in the film. In addition, members can submit pages for feedback in our workshopping sessions. Our website will have access to links for a variety of resources for writers and filmmakers. You can also discuss the latest industry news on our meetup or Facebook pages. And from time to time, we will join forces with other area filmmaking groups and host our own larger events and seminars. While we may all have different strengths, talents, and even weaknesses, we are all united by the love and passion we share for a great story and the adventurous path in creating it. Film is the ultimate collaborative medium, and together we are stronger then we are alone. So make the commitment that your dream deserves, and join today!

Self Reliance Skills & Preparedness in the Real World

Bellmawr, NJ

Self Reliance Skills & Preparedness in the Real World

"Self Reliance Skills, Preparedness in the Real World" is mainly the remote learning and bushcraft portion of PracticeSurvival.com & PracticePreparedness.com's objectives.

Remote attendance via Zoom. While we strive to provide a hands-on learning experience, we are interested in extending our reach. This group has been created to offer the opportunity for people from all over the world to be able to participate remotely via zoom. We still want you to attend in person, and wherever possible we encourage that.

The host is a stickler for privacy and the safety/security of its members. In order to be approved as a member, you must provide your real photo and name via text to Will's cellphone at 856-816-1764 or via private email to will@practicesurvival.com Will prefers that you create a pseudonym as your user id (preferably one that others will recognize you by). That way having verified you, Will will admit you.

All are welcome to join us. We are a friendly, family, team-oriented, and broad-minded group. Our main group is https://www.meetup.com/PreparednessSurvival101/ . We are looking to help people stabilize and protect themselves their families and inner circle in the event of daily disasters, incidents or on rare occasion a natural or man-made disaster. All three groups provide classroom-style theory, fact-filled presentations. They also incorporate hands-on practice, hikes, camping trips, outdoor exercises, and much more. If you are here to a real-world survival and preparedness mentoring website phish or steal info without giving back you will be removed and banned. We are not looking for numbers we are looking for actively engaged members. Please read the intro to get the full overview.

We are apolitical, yes we have beliefs and opinions but park them at the door. We welcome all as long as you approach us and the topics with thoughtful, courteous, and respectful adult behavior. We are a group comprised of people with many diverse perceptions and beliefs, all joined together as a network of friends working individually and as a team to assure our joint survival in a crisis. All levels of skill and experience are welcome, you do not have to have a skill or knowledge to join, just be willing to learn and be interested in the topic. We only ask that you please park any political, religious, or other divisive rhetoric at the door. (We appreciate and respect, even promote the idea that everyone has strong beliefs and is true to them.) If you do have skills and knowledge to share there is generally ample opportunity at every meeting to do so.

Our approach is Survival through Self Reliance, Self Sufficiency, and Preparedness. If you have skills and a mindset that nurture a strong sense of Self Sufficiency or wish to build them we are looking for you. We are focused on what the real, everyday person, who has a job and a full, active life (civilian) will actually be able to do in order to overcome their daily survival challenges. We believe that if you are ready to handle those challenges you are more likely to survive a more significant crisis on the rare occasion of such. Massive events are few and far between. We are more concerned about things that happen every day; like a breakdown on a back road, a power outage due to an accident in your area, or an unexpected problem while hiking in the wilderness, than troubling over the possibility of some "doomsday" scenario. Common challenges drive you to learn and practice new skills and refresh old ones, building confidence and reliable skills for that unusual natural and man-made disasters.

Our presentations in this group are meant to be primers to excite people's interests into further exploring topics, skills, and experiences in various related subjects. They are not "expert classes" (as no one is ever an expert). The aim is to create a forum for conversation; a starting point for beginners and to offer an opportunity for more experienced people to share their input so that all can benefit from their knowledge and experience in a civil, orderly, and digestible format.

Once we get to know you, you may apply to join our advanced group; Practice Self Reliance, Preparedness, and Survival. We are not focused on hiking, bushcraft, primitive skills, or weapons. They are all great skills and activities, we do touch on them occasionally. There are many other groups out there who do a great job focusing individually on those specific skills. We encourage people to experience them too. The organizers of this group believe that it is important to hear many voices to find balance in life. We hope to be a positive part of the conversation. No tinfoil hats here, we are not "Doomsday Preppers" and there are no bunkers here. Simply solid, fact-filled presentations and rounded discussions regarding all facets of self-reliance and self-sufficiency in the urban, suburban, and wilderness survival environments. Businesses who would like to sponsor the group or demonstrate their wares are asked to contact Will to discuss particulars. Any members who have any specialized skills pertaining to survival please contact Will regarding the opportunity to present. If you host or organize a Meetup Group or other group and wish to announce an upcoming event of interest or meeting, contact the organizers prior to mentioning it on the site. Please see the discussion board posting titled: Meetup Group Phishing and Sniping. Violations of that rule will result in immediate deletion.

These are not public organizations, we are building a private group of productive and active members to increase preparedness and strengthen the communities in which the members reside. We are very serious about privacy and protecting our members from unwanted solicitations and worse. Our Meetup.com groups are therefore locked as private and require that you are verified and approved as a member.

Please provide honest information and thoroughly answer the questions in the member profile. You must verify your identity (privately via email and text) with the Organizer prior to acceptance. This process is solely for the protection of the privacy and safety of our members and attendees.

We reserve the right to refuse admittance to those who are disruptive, disrespectful or attempt to phish the group for commercial or organizational gains without the approval of the Organizer.

We also work to maintain only members who are actively involved and participate. In the event that you are unable to attend regularly, you will be removed in order to maintain that goal.

Delco Ladies Social Group - 30s and 40s

Ridley Park, PA

Delco Ladies Social Group - 30s and 40s
This group is designed to help bring women together - to build new friendships, network, and go on social outings. Let’s share hobbies and create new ones! If you’re a woman around 30/40 years of age, looking for new friends, and want to find some events to get involved in, this is the group for you! Events will be primarily in the Delaware County area, but may occasionally be in surrounding areas as well. Activities will include happy hours, eating out, fitness, book clubs, game nights... anything is fair game - so feel free to suggest activities that you'd like to see! Looking forward to meeting you! ATTENDANCE POLICY - 48 HR RSVP One of the biggest stresses of any group is having an accurate RSVP count. In order to help mitigate this, I will be enacting a 48-hr mandatory response on events. Remember: we can’t make friends & have fun if we don’t show up! 1. If you can no longer make an event you RSVPed for, please update your RSVP no later than **48 hours prior to the event**. 2. Last minute cancellation: if something comes up less than 48 hours, please contact your host or post on the event message board that you can no longer attend. 3. If you have late cancellations to 2 events in a year, you will be removed from the group. 4. No contact/ no show: If you no-show to an event and do not contact the host or post a message, you will be removed from the group. I hope everyone understands the need for this, and ultimately that it gives people on the waitlist an opportunity to grab an open spot.
