The goal is to be active, explore the outdoors, and maintain a healthy lifestyle. The type of activities organized includes hiking, trekking, mountaineering, biking, camping, kayaking, travel/tours, and other activities. The events range from easy for beginners, and moderate, to strenuous levels. Guidance can be provided to develop hiking-outdoor skills, purchasing or using outdoor gear, practicing for treks, etc. Additionally, network with like-minded people, be inspired and have fun!! An elite platform with hundred's of events organized and executed proficiently throughout the year including winter which is a wonderful time to be outdoors. Additionally, there are events organized to explore national parks, and international trekking trips [e.g. Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa), Patagonia (Chile), Tour Du Mont Blanc (Alps), The Dolomites (Italy), Everest Base Camp EBC/ABC (Nepal), Mt. Events organized by the Friends of the Wicoff House in conjunction with the Plainsboro Recreation Department and hosted at the Wicoff House Museum. The Wicoff House was built circa 1878 by John and Catherine Wicoff. The Wicoff House Museum does have an accessible ramp.

Welcome to Exploring the Sourlands Group! This group is perfect for outdoor lovers looking to connect with like-minded individuals who enjoy hiking, exploring nature, and socializing. The Sourlands contain 25,000 acres of contiguous forest, 7,500 acres of wetlands and some 18,000 acres of agricultural lands in active production (https://www.njconservation.org/project/sourlands-hopewell-valley/).

You work hard all week; you deserve a Big Weekend Adventure! We're a community of active weekend outdoors adventurers mostly from New Jersey. We organize various bike rides, kayak tours, hikes, and post-activity meet-ups. Have an event you would love to see? Why not host it? The best things about being an event host are that you get to choose what, when, where, how far, etc! You will also get to meet new people! We are a fun and friendly group of outdoor enthusiasts (hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, kayaking) who also love board games, live music, volunteering and other social events. Many of our events also have a Christian fellowship component, but all are welcomed. You do not need to be a Christian to join. Some, but not all, of our events will target different age groups. Explore and enjoy the outdoors, and make new, local friends, human and canine! Our main activity will be walking/hiking throughout central and northern New Jersey and Rockland and Orange County in New York. This is a laid back group with easy going outings. All walks are free. All breeds of dogs are welcome. Leashes required. Social dogs only. (No aggressive dogs.) Dogs must have up to date rabies and distemper vaccinations. The safety and care of the animals and their owners cannot be guaranteed but a spay/neuter requirement will reduce the likelihood of any unwanted issues. All dogs must be spayed/neutered. Dogs must be under the owner's control at all times and be handled in compliance with all park, state, and local laws & regulations. Owners are 100% responsible for their dog's care and behavior and for complying with all regulations governing all meet-up venues. Attending is always at your own risk. You are responsible for understanding and following all laws within the park including leash laws. You accept responsibility for the safety of yourself, your pets and any guests and their pets you invite from outside the group. Attending our hikes signifies you understand the physical challenges and agree that you, your pet and any guests and their pets are physically capable and that you will be responsible for your own and their safety. Our pace is generally about 2 miles per hour. Some trails are hilly, some have steep slopes, some have very rocky terrain and some have difficult stream crossings. And some have various combinations of these conditions. Do not attend, if you are not physically ready for these conditions. Children under 12 years of age are not allowed.

Making friends as an adult is HARD. This is a group for women in their 20s and 30s looking to meet some new people, socialize and het some exercise while exploring New Jersey. Looking forward to exploring the outdoors and meeting you all!

We created this group for singles and couples 40s+ in the Bernardsville area. We do fun adult activities like happy hour, dining out, cooking and dancing classes, live music, walking, hiking and exploring the area together. Open to ideas from members of the group!
