This group is to celebrate and to embrace the present moment with connection, mindfulness, and gratitude. We will likely meet outdoors at local parks as long as weather permits. Each meeting will have a unique activities and direction. These are examples of the activities. -Group guided meditations -Art Experiences (painting, doodling, crafts) -Walking meditations -Practicing mindfulness (perhaps sharing a meal) -Breath work practice -Gratitude Journaling -Guest Speakers -Book sharing Possible field trips - Jemez Hot Springs, Santuario De Chimayo, a silent retreat, yoga practices, volunteering. This is a beginner to medium level co-ed activities group that is fun for everyone.We have done things that include running, jogging, hiking, biking, backpacking, camping, local festivities, trips, and much more!! We participate in fundraising runs and have even had a geologist take us to a site to hunt fossils! We are looking for individuals that are interested in getting out of the house and meeting new people but are not extremists. Our purpose is to build a strong group of people who enjoy being socially active on a regular basis as well as create strong and lasting bonds.

We strongly encourage participation! If you sign up for an activity and don't show you will get one warning. On the second no show, you will be notified that you are being removed from the group. During meetups, we plan for everyone that has provided an RSVP. If we are expecting you and you do not show, it wastes the time of the group as well as lowers morale. Please be courteous and drop yourself from an activity one day prior to the event if possible. We understand that emergencies happen and real life can sometimes jump in the way without notice. Keep in touch if things happen however, if cancellations the day of or just before any planed event become a common occurrence you will be warned then removed from the group if it continues. No shows will be continually tracked.

We love to have fun and want to do plenty of interesting activities but in order to make this group a success we must maintain the following policy.

To encourage participation, we require members to participate in a minimum of one meetup a year. This lets us know that you are still interested in what we do. Extenuating circumstances can be considered as long as you maintain contact but if there is no participation in over a year, members may be removed.

Albuquerque and the surrounding areas have so much to offer. It just takes us getting out and finding them! Together we will explore and be active. We will learn many things about the area. Our Purpose
To provide a means and a social group for single people to come together with others that are in similar situations. We can all learn from each other and great friendships come out of getting to know each other.

Our Group
The group is composed of all ages and all different types of people with varied interests. This keeps the activities different as well, based on who is hosting the different events.
This group belongs to us all and my hope is to keep everyone actively involved through hosting activities to planning the events and generally just keeping current on our events and activities.

Keeping things Current
While membership is free, an effort is made to keep the membership population current and active. Meetup notifies the moderator when members are inactive for 3 months or more. If this happens, your membership may be removed. If you later decide that you'd like to participate, please just rejoin the group. We would love to have you join in!

Mountain Cathedrals is a group for people who would like to encounter God and build community in our sacred outdoor wilderness spaces. As we join together for monthly day hikes on the third Saturday of each month, we will build elements of worship (scripture, prayer, and Holy Communion) into the hiking experience, allowing our ancient Christian traditions and our current hiking and outdoor spaces to work together to point to the presence of God among us.

Mountain Cathedrals is a ministry of St. John's United Methodist Church, and hikes will be led by a United Methodist clergyperson. We are, however, committed to building community and connections across denominational lines, and as such, we are open and sensitive to the faith traditions and backgrounds of all participants.

Welcome to Albuquerque Shakespeare Lovers! Due to Covid, all of our meetings are currently online through Zoom. But this has allowed us to meet Shakespeare Lovers from all over the world! Our NEW Cymbeline Close Reading Group will be starting January 8th, 2023 at 1PM MT. If you are interested in participating on a weekly basis, please RSVP to the next event. Our Monthly Movie Matinees will be once a month on a Saturday at 4PM MT (online).
