Hi friends! My name is Rachel and I'm obsessed with finding life balance while getting outside and being active! For those of you who know Amanda, the previous organizer, she has passed the hiking baton to me as she's moved to the East Coast for a while and I plan to keep some of the original format of hike time and some real-talk. Our hikes are a fun way to get outside, create community, network, and most of all to have fun and build new friendships. The hikes will include some mindful talk time and we're open to all levels. We'll mix it up so some hikes will be easier than others. In the winter months, we will plan to get out at least once per month depending on the demand. In off season and summer, we'll increase the hiking time. Come join the fun and let's enjoy life together!

Reno Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO) promotes individual growth through group activities, environmental and outdoor skills education, and leadership development for youth and young adults. We partner with schools, community groups and mission-driven organizations to provide safe and enjoyable outdoor adventures and experiences and to create a local youth-centered outdoor and environmental community. Our clothing and equipment inventory allows us to break down the barriers to bring up to 35 participants backpacking, hiking, snowshoeing, whitewater rafting, and other activities. We provide training and support so that anyone can volunteer in these adventure trips, all at no cost. Reno ICO is a program of the Sierra Club.

This group is for those who like to get and stay fit by road biking, mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, trail running, snorkeling/scuba, playing other sports together, or whatever ideas people have. This group is geared toward adults who would like to meet others in Reno-Tahoe region and as far as the Eastern Sierra & Yosemite to build new friendships and enjoy various outdoor activities. Welcome to Easy, Fun (and sometimes more challenging) Hiking & More in Reno for those over 40! Our mission is to get outside, breathe fresh air, grab some exercise and get to know new people. We have members at all hiking/walking levels and try to fit in a variety of events. Some will be more challenging than others and that will be listed in the title. Some of these hike are not suited for everyone so always be aware of distance and elevation gain. I'm looking forward to enjoying what our area has to offer. HikerTrashTrails was created on January 13, 2024, when my son, Steven Burns, succumbed to his opioid addiction. He loved the outdoors, and his dream was to create a company to show others the great wilderness- hiking, rockhound, backpacking, and all of it. Our mission is to pray for sobriety and salvation for the addicts and their families; one breath, one prayer, one hike at a time. We hope to provide and fulfill the needs of families and addicts, even if it begins with a safe space for conversation. To connect them with what they need, whatever that may be. We pray to involve families in this fight against addiction and save others.

This group offers walks and trails that don't need hiking poles. We'll also have some social fun for camaraderie.

The Reno Astrology Meetup is a local astrological organization that meets on the second Sunday of each month in Reno, Nevada. Our meetings are currently held at Bibo Coffee Company. The purpose of the Reno Astrology Meetup is to create a robust and active community in Nevada for astrologers to meet, network and share knowledge with one another. This group is for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels to meet others who love to ski or ride. Our common interest is a passion for sking or boarding and our goal is simple… to get out on the snow and have FUN!

During the season we'll hold monthly meetings (mixers/happy hours), organize day & weekend trips, car-pool, etc. (and occasionally, a few trips out of the area; like Colorado, Whistler, etc). We'llalso partner with other ski clubs or Meetup groups for combined activities. Anyone who wants to assist with organizing an event or get-togethers at a particular area or resort is welcome to become an Assistant Organizer; just ping Clint. Ideally, we'll have Organizers for each Reno, North Shore, South Shore, West Shore & possibly Carson/Minden/Gardnerville.

We are a group of active seniors (over 60), who love to get together to do things like socialize, bowl, walk or dine. We are singles, although we allow couples who are not married. Both must be members as we normally do not allow plus ones, and do not allow the same plus one multiple times. You must live in the Reno/Sparks area to join. Please living outside of that area find it too hard to participate actively. If you are looking for a dating club, please look elsewhere. While there are no restrictions if you happen to meet someone in the group and want to date, if that is the only reason you are joining, this club is not for you. Home events will require that you are vaccinated to enter a member's home. We prefer all members be vaccinated. Restaurants and bars might have stricter requirements, and we must follow their rules. This is a group for women interested in camping in Northern Nevada and Northern California. All camping experience levels welcome. Women of all ages are welcome. Transwomen are welcome (transgender individuals that are process of transiting to a woman). Please note, that I may reference 'women' or 'female', in other locations on this Meetup, but by default Transwomen are always included and welcome. I started this group so women can enjoy a quick outdoor camping trip together. Most camping trips I plan will be short weekend getaways (leave Friday and get back on Sunday). Longer camping trips are definitely possible - if someone wants to coordinate them. DOGS Considering the many complaints that I had received about specific dog's aggressive or disruptive behavior, in the future if I have not met a dog, I will need to meet them prior to them attending a trip. If meeting prior to the trip is not possible, you can come with your dog, but please note that if your dog barks non-stop, bites, or shows other problematic behavior you will be asked to leave the camping trip immediately and the dog will not be permitted on future trips. Please note, that most campgrounds, trails, etc., require that dogs be on a leash at all times. You will be responsible for cleaning up after your dog. CAMPING FEES I will divide the camping site fee evenly among the number of women that can attend, a camper will be charged this fee. Camping fees are non-refundable after registration closes for a camping trip or for no-shows. Camping Fees can be paid via Venmo, Square, or Zelle and are due by the payment due date listed on the event. You can also pay in cash prior to the RSVP date at another event. If payment is not made by this date, your RSVP will be canceled. PLUS ONES This group is for women (or trans women) campers. All guests need to be women (or trans women) over the age of 18. We will occasionally have events that will be open to significant others or family members that will allow men and/or children, but these events will be more sparse and the event details will clearly indicate that men and/or children will be allowed. For our normal camping trips please only invite adult women. CAMPING TRIP SUGGESTIONS OR PLANNING A TRIP As mentioned above, I will book the camping sites months in advance. If you have a campground you would like to camp at or any camping ideas, please email me them a few weeks prior. If you want to plan a camping trip and have it posted on this site, please feel free to book and message me the details. I will create the event and add you as the event leader. NO SHOWS AND RESERVING Please only RSVP to a camping event if you are staying at the Meetup’s Campsite. Space is very limited, so please be respectful and only RSVP if you are certain you are coming and you are staying with our campsite. If you RSVP to an event, just to cancel after the event RSVP closing date, and/or do not show up to an event more than 2x you will be removed from the group. Please note, that I will make exceptions for critical emergencies e.g. sick family member, funeral, etc… If you are removed from the group, your annual fee or camping fees will not be returned to you. **MUSIC** – please bring headsets for music. Not everyone wants to listen to your music over a Bluetooth Speaker. However, if you are on a camping trip and no one has an objection to the music playing over a speaker you are free to play it. However, please ask first. OTHER DETAILS If you choose to attend one of the groups camping events, please note that the daily schedule is up to you. Once we arrive at the campsite, we can spend the day together, divide up in groups based on activity preferences, or go off and do our own thing and meetup for sitting around the campfire before retiring. How we choose to spend the camping trips should be enjoyable! Lastly, you are responsible for bringing your supplies, food, etc. Bringing firewood would be appreciated. I truly believe that more people inputting their experiences / plans creates a better overall experience.
