Welcome to the Canandaigua & Finger Lakes Events & Entertainment Meetup! This group is for individuals who enjoy exploring events and entertainment in the Finger Lakes region. From movies and live theater performances to food and wine festivals, we are here to connect and discover the best events happening in our area. Join us to socialize, have fun, and experience all that the Finger Lakes has to offer!

This group is for Finger Lakes residents who want to work on maintaining or improving their general health through active events. Please include a picture of your face as your profile picture, so other group members can recognize you at events. While this group is based out of Canandaigua, NY, we have the opportunity to participate in outdoor, and even some indoor activities all around the Finger Lakes region. **What we’re about** This group is operated by Adirondack Mountain Club, Inc. (5/5/2024). ADK - Genessee Valley (ADK-GVC) is a chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club and welcomes members from all areas of Central and Western New York. All across New York State, members of the Adirondack Mountain Club work together to conserve natural places, help others discover nature, and get outdoors to play. The Genesee Valley Chapter welcomes members throughout the Rochester metropolitan area and the surrounding five-county area of upstate New York. Our club has over 1,500 members and is active in local conservation efforts, trail maintenance, and hosts many outings including hiking, bicycling, paddling and our Annual Outdoor Expo. We meet monthly on the second Wednesday from September through May. Our meetings include an educational session and main program featuring local conservationists, naturalists, adventurers, and leaders. For our hikes, all registrants will be placed on the waitlist and screened for recent experience. Boomers of the Finger Lakes is a group for singles ages 50+ that want to get out and have fun. Boomers' goal is to bring other single Seniors together in friendship. Most members are retired; some still work FT or PT. We live mainly in Ontario, Wayne, Yates and Seneca counties. The average age is currently 65+. We have planned activities every week. We have an atmosphere of fun and laughs, with an attitude of "it’s my turn now."

The group was established several years ago. We decided to join meetup in Nov 2012 to reach more potential members in the area.We are based in Canandaigua, NY. Most of our activities take place East/South of Rochester NY.

Potential members are invited to attend up to two events as our guest. After that, we require dues of just $10 per year to cover operating costs. You will receive a membership card that entitles you to group discounts at some events. We have a host at most events, so you’ll always have someone to meet up with. Come join us!

Back in 1997 and 1998 I went to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA baseball camp. There we learned the fundamentals of professional baseball. Dead smack in the middle of summer, it felt more like a bootcamp. However, I LOVED it! I received the Cal Ripken Jr. award for my performance as a short-stop in the All-Star game. At night we got canteen in a field of fireflies and played Wiffle Ball homerun derbies. Looking for those who are trying to become more active as the nice weather arrives. We intend to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space for vegans and veg-curious folks of all skill levels and backgrounds - no shame wherever you are on your journey. Please note: we ask that you prepare and consume only vegan food for all events. **Group focus:** We are so lucky that Rochester has many amazing groups and opportunities centered around vegan activism and vegan health/wellness, which we support **wholeheartedly**. Everyone is welcome. **We have a monthly meeting every third Thursday at the Old Toad, 277 Alexander St., between 6 and 9 PM.** We have a book club and we have educational meetups.
