Poughkeepsie, NY
A Drinking Club with a Running Problem.
We are a group of social people interested in running, drinking, exploring, and raunchy humor. Come join us on our next hash!
What is Hashing?
You have just stumbled upon an international phenomenon, where a group of people, “Hashers”, follow a cryptic trail that has been marked by the “Hare”. This trail leads to beer, water, snacks and a lot of camaraderie. Some people run, some people walk, but they all follow these marks along streets, trails, and off the beaten path until they find a beer stop. Now, there is water there too and snacks, but we’re really known as a Drinking Club with a Running Problem.
Anyone with an open mind aged 21 to 99 is welcome! Participating costs $5, and we run year round, rain or shine.
• What are Hudson Valley Hash trails like? Typically around 3.5 miles, with more beer stops than miles. Our hashers cooperate to follow trail and find the beer. We stay and socialize at each beer stop for about 15 min after the last hasher arrives-nobody gets left out. Often, one hare runs with the head of the pack and another goes with the walkers, occasionally providing shortcuts. Hash trails might include a mix of urban and wooded terrain, bar stops, and outdoor beer stops.
• Who Can Come To Trail? Trail is open to anyone 21 and over.
• What Do I Need To Do In Order To Come Out? Nothing is needed beforehand, Just show up!
• What Do I Bring & Wear To My 1st Trail? Bring: The Hash Cash, a well prepared liver, and a sense of adventure! Wear: Clothes and sneakers you don’t mind getting dirty or torn!
• Can I Still Do Trail If I Don’t Run? Walker, jogger or runner... trail is great for all levels! So don’t be afraid to come out if you don’t run. We have a bunch of walkers and/or walk-joggers.
• I'm still not sure what the hell is Hashing in the first place! Check out this wiki page for more info:

Hudson Valley Forest Therapy / Forest Bathing / Hiking
Cold Spring, NY
This is a group for anyone who wants to spend some time away from the many distractions and stresses in life. It is a time to turn off the phones and enjoy the present moment in the woods with no objective other than to allow ourselves that moment of self-care. Hikes will vary from easy to intense to allow all levels of experience and health. Short wanderings, day hikes, or over-night/weekend retreats available and lead by a trained life coach. Inexperienced hikers most welcome!
Forest Bathing or Forest Therapy is not a traditional therapy session. The forest is the therapist and we are all present to allow ourselves a moment of self-care, free from the distractions and stress of our daily modern lives. I'll be sharing more on this soon!
This is intended to be a safe and judgement free zone. There is no specific "type" of person for this group other than someone who feels the need to get outdoors. Professionals, stay at home parents, New Age types, non New Age types.. pretty much anyone who is respectful is welcome!
Private sessions are available and I invite you to help build a supportive community of others seeking peace of mind.
