We are a group that enjoys and embraces the outdoors, comradery and activities that will get your heart pumping! We walk or hike at a leisurely to moderate pace, in nice weather in and around the northern Nassau and Suffolk County, Long Island area and occasionally Upstate New York, while meeting and socializing with friendly co-walkers / hikers. People of all ages, sizes, shapes and colors are welcome to join if they are friendly, sociable, interested in meeting new people, and like to walk at an “athletic light” sort of pace -- that is, not terribly fast, but at a fair and consistent pace for average adults. Just be mindful that we might not always be walking on well paved (or at all paved) paths, some trails might have overgrowth, roots, stones, and obstructions to get over or around, and/or hills. At our events, we will meet up somewhere and then walk for an hour or two together. If folks want to go out afterward together to eat or drink somewhere, they are encouraged to do so.

"Play to win and have fun but we all make it to work tomorrow!" Any dangerous play or fighting will not be tolerated. We're mostly intermediate players. Pay before you play, $15 cash per person. 3 rotating teams / 10 minute games / 5v5 or 6v6. Bring a white shirt & a black shirt teams made on spot. You will want the dry one for the ride home anyway, you're welcome. NO OUTDOOR CLEATS! NO SLIDE TACKLES! NO A\*\*HOLES! We are a group of south shore residents who are focused on caring for our environment. We work to clean and improve local green spaces and lobby our local government for better maintenance of our outdoor community space. We are looking for members who are passionate about caring for the environment and meeting likeminded people. Our meetings are every Tuesday. We alternate in-person and virtual meetings to make attendance convenient for all. Some meetings have speakers on environmental issues. Others are goal-oriented or purely social.

New to climbing? Join us and get started with a free belay lesson and a supportive group of climbers of all abilities! Experienced climber? Come climb with some great new people. We meet at Island Rock in Plainview Weds. nights from 7PM until close (11PM). Tell the front desk you are with the Meetup to get a discounted day pass ($4 off). If you've never belayed (safe rope handling) before you'll need a FREE lesson (normally $32). Free lessons are at 7 pm and you must RSVP so we know how many are coming.
