Solo Parents of Greater Rochester

Fairport, NY

Solo Parents of Greater Rochester

This group is dedicated to helping solo parents (Divorced, Widowed or Unmarried) get together for support and provide a social outlet for our kids. We provide fun activities for the kids, such as camping, Halloween and Christmas parties, trips to amusement parks, movie nights, game nights and potlucks. We don't subsidize events because we don't have a treasury or treasurer, but we don't charge any money to become a member of our group.

To join, please join the sister group to this meetup, Friends and Solo Parents of Greater Rochester, attend one of those events and you will be welcome to join this group. http://www.meetup.com/Friends-and-Solo-Pare...

We are not a singles or dating group. We are parents and dating may occur, but members who become a problem to other members will be removed from the group. If members get married, our membership will remain open to them.

At this time, we are working to keep our membership small and well vetted. There are children in this organization, and we want to make sure we know everyone in the group. We are looking to create a "safe place" for parents and kids, so our membership and events are hidden unless you are a member.

If you know someone in the group who will sponsor you, you will be admitted. New members can meet us at one of our Parent only events these events are visible on the Friends and Solo Parents Group site. If you ask to join we'll invite you to a couple of those events. We encourage people to be active members of our group by attending events and organizing activities that suit their schedules. If you are a member and haven't been to an event in six months (unless you have a good reason) you will be removed from our membership roster.
