ADK - Genesee Valley Chapter
**What we’re about** This group is operated by Adirondack Mountain Club, Inc. (5/5/2024). ADK - Genessee Valley (ADK-GVC) is a chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club and welcomes members from all areas of Central and Western New York. All across New York State, members of the Adirondack Mountain Club work together to conserve natural places, help others discover nature, and get outdoors to play. The Genesee Valley Chapter welcomes members throughout the Rochester metropolitan area and the surrounding five-county area of upstate New York. Our club has over 1,500 members and is active in local conservation efforts, trail maintenance, and hosts many outings including hiking, bicycling, paddling and our Annual Outdoor Expo. We meet monthly on the second Wednesday from September through May. Our meetings include an educational session and main program featuring local conservationists, naturalists, adventurers, and leaders. Membership in the Adirondack Mountain Club is not required but encouraged. To join, visit https://adk.org/product/membership/. Be sure to select "Genesee Valley" as your Chapter. For our hikes, all registrants will be placed on the waitlist and screened for recent experience. All participants will be required to sign a standard liability waiver at the trailhead or meeting place. Preference is given to ADK members. ADK-GV is regulated by and subject to the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws of the Adirondack Mountain Club, Inc., and organized under Section (501) c (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Solo Parents of Greater Rochester

Fairport, NY

Solo Parents of Greater Rochester

This group is dedicated to helping solo parents (Divorced, Widowed or Unmarried) get together for support and provide a social outlet for our kids. We provide fun activities for the kids, such as camping, Halloween and Christmas parties, trips to amusement parks, movie nights, game nights and potlucks. We don't subsidize events because we don't have a treasury or treasurer, but we don't charge any money to become a member of our group.

To join, please join the sister group to this meetup, Friends and Solo Parents of Greater Rochester, attend one of those events and you will be welcome to join this group. http://www.meetup.com/Friends-and-Solo-Pare...

We are not a singles or dating group. We are parents and dating may occur, but members who become a problem to other members will be removed from the group. If members get married, our membership will remain open to them.

At this time, we are working to keep our membership small and well vetted. There are children in this organization, and we want to make sure we know everyone in the group. We are looking to create a "safe place" for parents and kids, so our membership and events are hidden unless you are a member.

If you know someone in the group who will sponsor you, you will be admitted. New members can meet us at one of our Parent only events these events are visible on the Friends and Solo Parents Group site. If you ask to join we'll invite you to a couple of those events. We encourage people to be active members of our group by attending events and organizing activities that suit their schedules. If you are a member and haven't been to an event in six months (unless you have a good reason) you will be removed from our membership roster.

Vegan Foodies of Rochester

Rochester, NY

Vegan Foodies of Rochester
**Intro:** A warm welcome to Vegan Foodies of Rochester! We are a group of positive, life-loving folks in Rochester and the surrounding areas that are all about good vibes and delicious vegan food! We intend to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space for vegans and veg-curious folks of all skill levels and backgrounds - no shame wherever you are on your journey. Please note: we ask that you prepare and consume only vegan food for all events. **Group focus:** We are so lucky that Rochester has many amazing groups and opportunities centered around vegan activism and vegan health/wellness, which we support **wholeheartedly**. With that said, the focus of this group is all things vegan food, which we believe can also be a form of activism, as the way to the heart is through the stomach, in so many cases :) **What we'll do:** We invite our members to host a wide range of events, including potlucks/dinner parties, foodie day trips, Rochester vegan events, restaurant outings, holiday celebrations, and any other amazing vegan-foodie-inspired event ideas you have! **Community requests/FYIs:** To create a sense of intimacy and meaningful connection between members, we ask that you try to attend at least one event every three months; this will help ensure an engaged and connected community. We also ask that you inform event hosts within 48 hours whenever possible if you won't be able to attend an event you RSVP'd for. Of course, we understand that things come up last minute, but this helps us respect the time/energy that goes into hosting. We seek to center this group around the values of compassion, open communication, and having FUN! This group is LGBTQ-friendly. We are also generally an adults-only group, but hope to find some opportunities to host kid-friendly events to include our budding Rochester vegan foodies :) When you bring a dish to share, please make an effort to provide ingredients to be sensitive to folks with allergies. **Group dues:** Finally, Meetup.com charges an annual fee to host a group, so our group has a $10 annual membership fee, payable directly to Meetup.com. As a new member, you will receive a free 30-day trial before the fee is due. All remaining funds after the Meetup.com dues are paid will be used to offset expenses at a yearly event that will be open to the entire group. \*\*Please note that if you have extenuating circumstances that make paying this fee a challenge, PLEASE reach out to us and we will work something out! **Please join us :)** ALL are welcome who meet the above criteria! We so look forward to laughing, talking, and eating with you. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out... This group is joyfully organized by the AAA family (Alyssa, Alex & Ahmad), but created together by all of us!
