Cincinnati Vegan Meetup (Active 2024)
šŸŒ± **Join Our Vegan & Vegetarian Social Club!** šŸŒ± There used to be some vegan groups on here but they became inactive over time. Here's a new one that promises to be active in organizing events. I hope members are active in joining and following through. Anyways: Looking for a fun, inclusive community to connect with like-minded individuals? Our Vegan & Vegetarian Social Club is the perfect place! We focus on socializing, enjoying diverse activities, and discussing a variety of topics, all while sharing our passion for a plant-based lifestyle. Whether you're a vegan or vegetarian with some vegan preferences, come join us for: šŸ² Potluck dinners šŸ“š Book club meetings šŸŽ„ Movie nights šŸ³ Cooking classes šŸš“ Outdoor activities šŸŽ² Game nights šŸ“ Restaurant outings We welcome everyone who shares our love for delicious plant-based food and great company. Let's build friendships and have fun together! Disclaimer: While the events will be vegan/vegetarian, the group will not be an activism first type group. Feel free to discuss important issues but please no uncivil debates or gatekeeping or trying to outdo one another. Please do not actively debate politics. Please be people that are vegetarian/vegan with personalities and unique stories to share. Please do not "only be" vegetarians/vegans. Let's socialize and have some fun. Please also do not debate every event activity we choose. Every business does something wrong. Every product has ancillary impacts on something. Some are worse than others. Some ought to be better. We are imperfect people and we are looking to be vegetarian/vegan and have fun. Let's unite in that rather than looking for division. If something does not fit your moral compass, please abstain and I'm sure the next event will be right for you. You're always welcome to suggest activities as well.

Orienteering Cincinnati Meetup

Cincinnati, OH

Orienteering Cincinnati Meetup

Orienteering Cincinnati is a non-profit that puts on events in parks and on private property throughout the Greater Cincinnati Area. These events provide the opportunity to work on navigational skills while enjoying the great outdoors. Each has courses designed for beginners and experienced orienteers. Come alone, with a friend or a group of friends to family.

This activity is for the adventurous person. It's like geocaching or Pokemon Go without the GPS. Each course has various checkpoints that participants must visit, in order, and the event is timed.

Participants are very diverse. Men, women, children. You'll see husbands & wives, boyfriend & girlfriends, friends. Runners, walkers, and speed-walkers. Beginners, intermediates and experts (one young man is on the USA National Orienteering Team). What everyone one has in common is a desire for mental and physical stimulation in the great outdoors.

There is a small fee for participation and 100% of the funds we collect go toward putting on events. Instruction is also available at each event and we also supply all the needed equipment.

These events typically have a "start window" of 2-3 hours. During that time participants start courses. Each course typically takes an or so hour to complete. Multiple courses can be completed at each event. We use electronic timing equipment and maps are made by some of the world's best mappers.

As this is an all-volunteer organization we always welcome helpers. Feel free to help pick up the control markers at the end of the event if you have extra time.
