Dayton-North Cincy Social Connection

Meet friends, have fun, and participate in diverse activities! If you are new in town, new to the country, a native to the area, single, married, divorced, or something else that hasn’t been categorized, and you want to make friends, this group may be for you.

Note:

  • We are not a singles group (no meat-market atmosphere)
  • We are not a business networking site. Promotion of your business is not permitted (except through sponsorship).

We are looking for sponsors. If you are interested in promoting your business with the group, contact Rick

What are the requirements for membership? Come to events, have fun, and treat others with respect.

What types of activities we will be doing?

  • Dining out
  • Art and cultural events
  • Wine tasting
  • Dancing
  • Checking out interesting pubs
  • Parties
  • Picnics
  • Concerts
  • Festivals
  • Day trips
  • Educational events
  • Outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, ice skating, snow sports, and more

What makes us different? The area between Cincinnati and Dayton is fast growing and under-represented in the Meetup arena. We are trying to bridge that gap with social activities that take place all over this region.

What else? If you’re shy, come early and meet with the organizers first. We will do our best to make you feel at ease and introduce you to others as they arrive for an event.

Is that all? Remember, we can organize events, but without you, there is no group. So sign up and get active!

Camping is at our core, but we also enjoy hiking, biking, swimming, kayaking, boating, and local entertainment. We also have joint events with other like-minded groups so you may see our events posted elsewhere. We organize campouts in the SW Ohio region primarily but as adventurers, we also explore Ohio and our neighboring states! Have an idea for a campout? Let us know! Come as you are, everyone is welcome to bring their hammock, tent, sleeping bag, camper, RV, or whatever it is they wish to camp in. Event details will indicate if the campout is at a group camp or if you should make your reservation. We prefer to stay at county, state, and national parks if possible! My role as the organizer is to facilitate the creation of a community of campers who enjoy being around each other and the outdoors. If you’d like to join our group your profile must have a photo of your face with no sunglasses. The exception is if a person on the leadership team has met or knows you. Don’t know anyone? DM the organizer to see if you can come as their guest. Stayed tuned to this space, we're going camping!

Girls Night Out - Eastside

Milford, OH

Girls Night Out - Eastside
Interested in having a fun Girls' Night Out, or forming new friendships, single or married, twenty something or in your 80's? Tons of kids, or have none at all? Then this is the group for you! Our group is for ladies in any phase of life who want to make new friends, support other women, and get out of the house for some fun. We meet at various locations, usually on the Eastside of Cincinnati - Anderson, Eastgate, Milford, etc. (we do occasionally expand outside those areas). We try to mix up our events - dining out with brunch, wine tastings, movies, dinner, cookouts, singo, trivia, and other local fun adventures and social events. And, we may throw in the occassional overnight or weekend adventure. Many of us work during the day so most of our meetups will be evenings or weekends. If you have littles, please leave them with a responsible adult and come join us! Those who join should be committed to open-minded and positive communication within a diverse and inclusive group of females! NO hate, NO-isms, NO Debbie Downers, and NO 'phobias please. We are excited to have as many ladies as possible attend each event! Please understand that v*enues are often reserved for our group and their staffing can be determined based upon our expected attendance. Reduced numbers are a direct reflection on our group, and the organizers, and may cause venues to not accept future reservations.* Therefore, we do have some guidelines on attendance to ensure the integrity of our events. We ask that you: * Only RSVP to events that you know you definitely will attend. Please do **NOT** use your RSVP as a placeholder. * If you RSVP to an event and are unable to attend (because hey, life happens), please extend the courtesy of letting the organizer know, or change your RSVP to "No" as soon as you know you cannot attend. Two or more last minute cancellations (less than 24 hours prior to an event) *may* result in removal from the group. * **PLEASE DO NOT "NO SHOW."**  Attendance for each event is tracked and, unfortunately, if you "No Show" two times you will be removed from the group (and we really don't want to do that!). * Additionally, we want members who are engaged in our group - so be sure to visit often, and attend events! We delete anyone has not visited our group for more than a year. We often communicate through the MeetUp email system with additional details about our group or an event you're scheduled to attend, so please ensure your MeetUp profile/account is set up to receive emails. Do you have something fun you'd like to do but need a friend (or ten) to do it with? We are happy to chat with those interested in being a co-organizer/event host for our group. Having a team of people coordinating and hosting events will expand our activities and grow our group (more new friends!)! Message our organizer, Donna, if you're interested in becoming a GNO co-organizer/event host, even if it's just one event. Also reach out if you have a suggestion for something fun you'd like to see the group do! We also want to hear from you - please complete the survey using the link below to help us learn more about you and what you're interested in getting from this group! https://forms.gle/thtnTNYfYhyXhCZz8 Thanks again for joining us! We can't wait to see you at a future GNO event!

Helpful Friends of SW Ohio: Herpes Social and Support Group

West Chester, OH

Helpful Friends of SW Ohio: Herpes Social and Support Group
Helpful Friends Network of SW Ohio – Support and Social Events for the Herpes HSV-1 and -2 Community What we're about: Helpful Friends Network is a PRIVATE member-run social group for adults in Southwest Ohio (the Cincinnati and Dayton areas) and northern Kentucky. Our organization is for adults 30 and over who have been diagnosed with Herpes Simplex Virus Types 1 and/or 2 (HSV-1, HSV-2). We are also open to their partners. We serve those who may be interested in meeting, sharing their experiences and socializing with others without fear or stigma. It's good to share social encounters with those who face the same uncertainties and challenges of living and/or dating that you do. Our community strives to not only be a social network for our members but also a group that promotes support and education rather than ignorance and shame. Helpful Friends Network is a Members-Only community. Therefore, information posted on our site will only be accessible to other members of this Meetup group. We welcome everyone 30 and above who is interested in making new friends, sharing fun monthly activities together, and meeting and interacting with others who share our surprisingly common situation. While our group description is viewable to non-members, only people who carry genital herpes (HSV-1, HSV-2) viruses or their partners may join. Since this population of those with the virus includes 1 in 6 adult Americans, you know that you are not alone. Isn't it better to know that, even if you are non-symptomatic now, you are among people who share your concerns? Only approved members can view info about our monthly group “Talk-It-Over” discussions and fun social events and other content. As you are well aware, herpes does not discriminate and neither do we. We welcome people from 30 to 100, all ethnicities, all professions, religions, political affiliations and outside interests. Whether you come as a single or a couple, are introverted or outgoing, we are here for you. We're a diverse and wonderful mix of people and we strive to make the most of it! Those who are new to this situation are especially welcome to the group. We make special efforts to introduce you to other friendly members so that you’ll feel right at home. We are also a very discreet group. If you would not like for others to see this or other groups you are part of, you can hide your groups in your Meetup settings. This can be done by clicking on "My Groups" in the middle of your Meetup profile and choosing to hide your groups, making them private. If you share our condition and situation, we urge you to join us! You are not alone!
