Slopes & Trails Social Activities Group--Rogue Valley

Medford, OR

Slopes & Trails Social Activities Group--Rogue Valley
Established in 1990, Slopes and Trails is a social activities group for mature, active adults. Most of our members are over 55 and come from all over the Rogue Valley. Outdoor activities include camping, kayaking and canoeing, bike riding, hiking, rafting, golf and picnics. In addition, we go bowling, to the movies, play cards and games, with an occasional Talent/No Talent Show thrown into the mix. Travel is also a love for many of our members, and group travel is encouraged. Trips to Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain & Portugal, as well as weekend trips to Bandon and Union Creek have been offered in the past. Our group is also famous for its potlucks, progressive dinners and holiday parties, including our festive and fun White Elephant Party in December. We are good cooks and love to throw parties. Members are encouraged to sponsor or co-sponsor their favorite activities, which is the life of the organization. Every Thursday or Friday ("Thirsty Thursday" or TGIF) our members and visitors gather at a winery, bistro or pub to greet old friends and meet new ones. NOTE: RSVP FROM MEMBERS IS INTERNAL. JOIN US--THERE WILL BE PLENTY THERE TO GREET YOU! Greeters welcome new people to our no-host social hour, introduce them to others and answer questions. Often, we gather for dinner following the social hour. These weekly social hours are open to the public. All other events require membership. Annual membership is inexpensive at $40 per year, ($52 to join, which includes a magnetic name badge). Newsletters & a detailed calendar is available ongoing on our new website, www.slopes.org. Slopes & Trails members are also dedicated to our community. Some of the service projects we have participated in include the Bear Creek Greenway Cleanup, Shoebox Program (small Christmas gifts for shut-ins), Meals on Wheels & Access Food Projects, holiday gift baskets for SPCA and CATS, and the annual Red Cross blood drive. Feel free to join us for a few social hours or public activities before registering to join the group (you will receive a code at our events to enable online registration). Our greeters and board members are also available at all our social hours to help you.

Think Walk Talk - Southern Oregon Chapter

Medford, OR

Think Walk Talk - Southern Oregon Chapter
Do you like walks in nature? Do you like deep conversations? If so, you are invited to join **Think Walk Talk**. Being outdoors, walking in nature offers a natural environment to think, take things slower and deeper with every step. Talking with others, understand and be understood creates a bond tying us all back to our community. We are aiming to engage in deep conversation about subjects of interest similar to the philosopher citizens in Greece with the Agora. The general direction of the group is to enable its members the pursuit of [Arete](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arete), excellence in body, mind and spirit to live to our fullest potential in our community. To join the group, please apply by answering some questions, which will appear when you click on the ‘join’ button. Some guidelines: * Walks will be around 1 hour and will change frequently based on the group interest. * No dogs (I love dog, but they disrupt the flow of think, walk, talk, listen) * Switch conversations partners frequently to engage with newcomers. * Your membership in this group is contingent on following the group guidelines. Thanks Ali Notes: * The act of putting one foot in front of another creates rhythm, movement, and can elevate the spirit, facilitate talking and thinking. * This group was inspired by a similar group [Thinkers' Walking club in Portland, OR](https://www.meetup.com/thinkers-walking-club/) started by Michael. Check it out if you are in that area. * I would love to see the Think, Walk, Talk model scale up in many cities. Please reach out if you want to replicate this in your area and we can collaborate together.

The Importance of Walking Properly and Naturally is so simple; we walk many times a day, yet few do it properly.  Over time it is easy to pick up bad habits that make the way we walk not only less efficient, but possibly detrimental to our physical health and emotional well-being. By learning the Secrets of Natural Walking, each step in our daily life becomes a beautiful opportunity to improve the condition of our whole being, including our body, mind, emotions, and spiritual heart. This interactive workshop teaches all the skills required to recruit all the correct muscles, walk straighter and taller, activate the body's natural healing abilities, and open the spiritual heart, so every step becomes a way to shape, tone, heal and calm the body. So, Learn to walk your way to complete health and happiness. Simple and easy. *With diligent daily practice* the self healing mechanisms of your body will revitalize you, and your mood and thoughts will become calmer and more peaceful. You'll become happier and feel more secure. ***The Workshop is 7 hours approximately. Medford Young Adult (18-28yrs) Community & Social Group

Medford, OR

Medford Young Adult (18-28yrs) Community & Social Group
**What's the purpose of this group?** The purpose of this group is to help re-build general community, and particular relationships after the disruption of the pandemic. Many of us have felt the pain of loneliness and feeling disconnected. It can be hard and nerve-wracking to try something new, or make new friends! That's the purpose of this group -- to be an intentional Young Adult (about 18-28 years old) community for people who want to connect again. The community guidelines are respecting eachother and keeping the group safe for honest connection and conversation. We build this community around joy in doing events, eating, and generally living life together. **Who should join?** Anyone who is roughly 18-28 years old (if you're 29, we won't kick you out) looking to both receive and invest in community and relationships. You don't have to be a social butterfly (I sure am not!), local, new in town, or be "all put together." We are naturally imperfect and quirky. We want to be a place where you can be your best self. The only requirement is that you be roughly in the age range, and respect the safety of the group. For example, alcohol can be present, and we also ask that people respect those who are in sobriety recovery, or below 21 years old. **What will we do at our events?** Right now, the events are a smaller group (5-12). We do various activities, depending on the season. For example: Axe Throwing, Bowling, Escape Room, Board Game Night, Ice Skating, Bonfires, Hikes, Backpacking, Murder Mystery Night, and the like. These events are once a month, often on a Saturday. But, feel free to take the initiative to swap numbers, ask people to grab coffee (or whichever) in between monthly events. Consider this larger group a springboard for developing closer relationships. Often at these events, tickets are at a discounted cost, funded by Westminster Church to help support re-building community, relationships, and healthy connections after the pandemic. While the events are subsidized by Westminster Church, this group is for people of all backgrounds. The heart behind this is seeing the need for community, and hoping to help serve the community by re-building human connectedness and belonging. Discounted payments are collected by Dereck, the group facilitator.

amBi - Southern Oregon's Bi Social Community

Ashland, OR

amBi - Southern Oregon's Bi Social Community

amBi is not just another Meetup group that offers fun events. Our mission is nothing less than to build a vibrant and visible bisexual community. amBi is a diverse social group that hosts public and private events and activities for bis, our partners, and allies.

The first amBi chapter was founded in 2006 in Los Angeles. Since then, the group has been spreading to other cities. The Southern Oregon chapter is new and growing fast. We host parties and intimate get-togethers, share fun activities and explore our community. You do not have to be bi to join amBi. Friends and allies are welcome.

JOINING amBi:
amBi is a private Meetup, and you will need to be approved by an Organizer in order to join. We do this to protect the privacy and integrity of the group. Some of our members are closeted outside of amBi, and we want to protect their anonymity. Inside amBi, however, we are open and out to each other.

Before Joining, please read
THE THREE BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP (all profiles must be for 1 person only):

1) A real or real-sounding name.
This is the name by which people in the group will refer to you. User names like "BiGurl23" or acronyms like "KFS" sound pretty silly when used in person. If you absolutely do not want people to know your real name, pick something. Just be prepared to answer to it.

2) A photo clearly showing your FACE.
This helps us find you when meeting at a busy venue and also helps people learn and remember who you are. Photos help prevent spam and make the group safer for everyone. As long as you have your meetup.com settings to "keep groups private," nobody outside of amBi can see your photo in association with the group.

3) Answers to some basic profile questions.
These questions aren't here to make you feel awkward. They enable us to make sure you are a real person who is here to meet and socialize with the bisexual community. Your answers also serve as your introduction to the group. Sorry, but incomplete profiles will not be approved for membership. We look forward to meeting you!

PLEASE NOTE: While many of our members are single, amBi is not a hookup group. amBi is not a swingers' group. We are here to help build a community in Southern Oregon that is welcoming, safe, diverse, vibrant, and visible. If you are here only looking to arrange dates and/or sexual encounters, we are definitely not the Meetup group for you. Please also note that posting any sexually explicit photos will result in immediate removal from the group. Thanks!

A WORD ON LABELS: amBi uses "bisexual" as an umbrella term for people who recognize and honor their potential for sexual and/or emotional attraction to more than one gender (heteroflexible, pansexual, fluid, omnisexual, queer, and all other free-identifiers). We celebrate and affirm the diversity of identity and expression regardless of labels.

Rogue Valley Men's Circle Ceremonies

Ashland, OR

Rogue Valley Men's Circle Ceremonies
This group begins as a weekly Men's Circle Ceremony around the fire on Monday nights at 6:30 pm at the Lithia Park Fire pit in Ashland, Oregon. In time there may be additional activities. What could be more natural than gathering around the fire and talking about the challenges of being a man and/or assuming masculine roles in our current culture? **Ceremony.** The Men's Circle is done as a shamanic ceremony to increase power and effectiveness. This form of ceremony is compatible with any religious and spiritual beliefs. We offer intentions, smudge with sage, and release things into the fire.  **Talking stick.** A weekly theme such as "confidence" or "purpose" is introduced. A talking stick is passed to speak your truth on this topic and things coming up in your life.  **Inclusive.** This ceremony is for anyone looking to awaken and integrate dynamic masculine energy and roles. This includes all gender identities and sexual orientations.  **Drug and alcohol-free.** This form of ceremony does not utilize plant medicine or psychedelics. Please do not be under the influence of any drugs or alcohol during this ceremony. **Facilitator.** This ceremony is conducted by Michael Hoffman, LCSW. He is a licensed psychotherapist and spiritual coach. He trained with a spiritual teacher/shaman for 22 years and offered psychotherapy and relationship counseling for the past 28 years. **Safe Space.** Michael's role and responsibility as the facilitator is to ensure that the ceremony is emotionally safe. Judgment and criticism will be stopped. His role also includes encouraging you to venture deeper into your dynamic masculine energy. **Age.** Michael hopes to expand Men's Circle Ceremonies to 18-40 and 40 and older age groups to address specific men's issues that present themselves with age and phases of life. Meanwhile, this all-ages ceremony provides empathy and support between various ages. **Directions.** The ceremony is at the Island Fire Pit in Ashland's scenic Lithia Park. It is just south (away from downtown) of the Parks Office between the Cotton Memorial and Hillside on a small island in Ashland Creek. There is a parking area off Granite St. **Just show up**. You can just show up or register below. **Cost.** The suggested donation is $15 per circle. You can pay at the ceremony with cash or Venmo. You can pay online with a credit card, debit card, or HSA credit card by registering below. **Info:** Feel free to message Michael Hoffman with questions or concerns. Hope to see you there!

Siskiyou Hiking Bares

Ashland, OR

Siskiyou Hiking Bares

Hiking as nature intended. Mother Nature doesn't wear clothes, and in the back country when the weather permits, neither do we. This is a Naturist, clothing optional hiking club for free-hiking in areas that permit nudity.  This meetup is family friendly and all activities are suitable for all ages.  That said, some of our hikes may be strenuous and smaller children may not be able to keep up.  Various levels of activities will be scheduled as the meet up grows to include different age groups.

Siskiyou Hiking Bares is being modeled after the traditional Naturist hiking groups of Germany, known as nacktwandern.  These groups started informally in the early 1900's in Germany as wandervogel groups, organizing coed hikes and rambles through the countryside, often nude, but always clothing optional as a way of getting closer to nature and rejecting what was seen as an increasingly unhealthy lifestyle in the crowded and polluted cities of the time.  This eventually led to regional and national organizations promoting healthy outdoor nude activity, such as the freikorperkultur (FKK) movement in Germany and the Naturist / Nudist movement elsewhere.

This meet up will be independent of other organizations, but will follow closely the standards and practices of both The Naturist Society and the American Association of Nude Recreation.  The meet up will be open to all that show a sincere interest in healthy outdoor nude recreation and will not discriminate in any way.
