Instead of the usual happy hour or office setting, we focus on getting away from the screen and enjoying activities like hiking, jogging, kayaking, skiing, or even catching a Timbers game or volunteering. Welcome to Sober Outdoors! This group is for outdoor lovers who want to connect with like-minded individuals in a sober environment. We meet to explore the community, visit dog parks, engage in trail jogging, hiking, backpacking, camping, paddleboarding, and other various outdoor hobbies. Our activities focus on staying sober with or without the 12-step program. This is not an AA affiliate so do not feel like you need to be in recovery to join. The only requirement is a desire to live a sober life outside. Join us for some fun and adventurous outings as we enjoy the beauty of nature together!

We’re two Portland families with four teens and tweens organizing in-person events. Come join us to hike, swim, bowl, camp, play board games, go to Escape Rooms and attend theater events—and other activities the teens want to do in person.

This group is for meeting outdoors for meditation practice. Self explanatory! Meditating outdoors offers many benefits, including the sights, sounds and smells of nature. We will join for discussion, sharing of techniques and experience, and practice of moving, walking meditation, and seated meditation. People of all experience levels, ages, genders, ethnicities, body and personality types, and walks of life are welcome, as long as you are kind and respectful to others. Donations are optional. This group is for travelers who don’t want to wait on their friends to finally say “yes” to travel. Life is too short and the world is too big! The trips in this group are usually 90% solo travelers but everyone is welcome, female/male, solo/couple/friends, straight/LGBTQIA+! So let’s travel together with fun, like-minded travelers! This adult group is for 20-somethings and 30-somethings who love the outdoors and want to experience it with other like-minded people. All skill levels are welcome. Hikes will mostly be around Portland and the surrounding area and will vary in difficulty and length. Looking to meet people? The goal of this group is to create an atmosphere where you'll be sure to have fun and make friends, all while staying in shape or getting in better shape and clearing your mind in the great outdoors. Dogs are welcome on hikes, but note that a small number of trails will not allow them, and these will be clearly noted beforehand. For out-of-town hikes with limited availability, please only sign up if you are sure you will attend. For a little clarity on the group demographics, it caters to the 20-39 year crowd. We are unable to accommodate children under 18.

We are a group of happy, warm, fun, and friendly couples (40's to early 60's) who are looking to make lasting friendships with other couples. We are a very active people and would like to meet new friends who share similar interests in an happy environment. PNW Women's Outdoor Group's motto is: Empowering women one step at a time. Our purpose is to bring women of the Pacific Northwest together who are 18 years or older and of all levels of fitness, for new adventures & experiences; to learn new skills; to discover new favorite adventures and to share camaraderie with other like-minded PNW women. PNW women’s outdoor group is all about creating new friendships and encouraging each other to reach personal fitness goals, all while enjoying outdoor activities. These are some types of hikes &/or activities we have hosted since the formation of our group in 2013: Local area hikes through Forest Park, the "4T", around the waterfront & in your neighborhood. We've led hikes and backpack trips throughout the Gorge, Coastal Range, Mt Hood, Mt St Helen's, Mt Rainer, Mt Adams, to name a few. Our volunteer event organizers have also hosted many road trips which included camping/backpacking/hiking, to Canada, Yellowstone, Sawtooths, Steen's, Grand Canyon, Utah's big 5 National Parks, Redwoods, etc. If we're not hiking/backpacking, we're Car Camping, Mushroom Hunting, Wildflower Identifying, Snowshoeing, Cross Country Skiing, Downhill Skiing, Snowboarding, Climbing, Kayaking, Sailing, rafting…. Social activities have included group gatherings, pot lucks, book discussions, park concerts, etc. We have also offered Outdoor Education Workshops, as well as opportunities to serve our community with volunteer events, both indoors and out.
