**Don't believe in God?** **You are not alone!** **![](http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/7/3/d/e/event_73349662.jpeg)** It is an exciting time to be a nonbeliever in the U.S. There are more people shedding dogma and religion in this country than at any other time in the past. Membership in atheist organizations is growing steadily and more people are standing up for their rights to be free from religion. The formation of the LFS is in response to the desire of Lancaster area free thinkers to become a part of this growing movement. **What is a Freethinker?** A freethinker is one who forms opinions about religion, independently of tradition, dogma, authority or established belief, in favor of rational inquiry. **Our goals:** \- Provide a social and intellectual **community** for freethinkers and their families. \- Enrich and empower our membership through education and activism \- Educate the public about non\-theists and church\-state separation \- Teach critical thinking skills and promote reason \- Defend and promote the separation of church and state   **Community** **is the primary goal of the Lancaster Freethought Society.** We strive to provide a community in the Lancaster area for Atheists, Agnostics, Secular Humanists, Skeptics, and Freethinkers of every stripe. Without a strong community, none of our other goals are possible to achieve. Whether you are still in closet about your atheism or loud and proud, you are welcome to join our friendly community.   **Charity** is another of LFS’s goals. We will search for ways to help our local community and help put a positive face on atheism. Some of these activities will be “Adopt a Highway” clean-ups, food drives, an “Ask An Atheist” booth at Lancaster Central Market, and participation in local festivals. We want to dispel the public perception of atheists as immoral self-centered people and secure a positive place in the hearts and minds of the community. **Family** is important to LFS. One of the things that religion does so well is to create a social support system and a sense of community for its members. LFS wants to fill this role for nonbelievers in the Lancaster area. If you are sick in the hospital, a member might be able to visit or watch your kids while your significant other goes grocery shopping. If you lost your job, LFS might be able to assist you in locating new employment. You will have a network of friends to lean on. We want to grow as a community with you and your families. **Education** is an important part of being a prepared organization.  Each monthly meeting will include a discussion. This can be a talk on anything related to freethought, science, religion, counter-apologetics, philosophy, or activism. Members are encouraged to write and present a talk concerning any of these subjects. Let us know if you are interested in doing so. We also plan on bringing in guest speakers from time to time to share their knowledge with us. **Events** are a great way to get to know each other, learn as a group, or just have fun. Join us at our monthly meeting. Come hang out with us on LFS Pub Nights. Families are welcome at picnics, play dates, pizza parties, bowling nights, and more! We try to mix up the days of the week that events occur on in order to give everyone the best chance to attend at least some of our events. **Activism** is sometimes needed to defend the separation of church and state in our area and nationwide, but picket lines are not the only form of activism. Charity events to help our local community, litter pickups, and helping those in need are also a form of activism. We are not haters in LFS but we will defend our rights. I look forward to meeting you and your families and to welcome you as part of the LFS Family.   Scott Rhoades *President – Lancaster Freethought Society* Wilson Whiting Organizer*– Lancaster Freethought Society*

Meetup Guidlines

Hello Pug Lovers!!! We are so ecstatic to announce The Windsor, by Canine Country Club is excited to host our Pug Meetups!! The staff is absolutely amazing!! The facility is gorgeous! We will have use of indoor and outdoor space. You are welcome to bring a towel, small blanket , or yoga/exercise mat to sit on. If you bring a folding chair there is a chance the legs could be peed on.....bring one at your own risk..lol! I encourage everyone to visit The Windsor, By Canine Country Club website so you can get an idea of the facility we will be at. I promise you will not be disappointed. https://cccresorts.com/

Our meetups are for PUGS/PUG Mixes and their family. At this time we are not allowing any other breeds as this is a PUG focused Meetup. We have found that when you remove a pug from a dog park like environment and put them in a room with only other pugs their personalities SHINE!!!!! Even the shy ones come out of their shell after a couple meetups. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause (leaving one dog at home) but hope you can understand our reasoning.

Children: As much as we love children we do ask the following: -Any child under the age of 17 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian AT ALL TIMES. This includes inside our Meetup location and all areas dogs are. -No running, jumping, picking up a pug that is not theirs without permission, climbing or sitting on agility equipment. -All children over the age of 1 will be subject to the same $5 fee, no exception. Please keep in mind this is a PUG Meetup. A time for our furry babies to run, be social, and have a pug of a good time. It is our goal to create a stress free and safe environment for them. If the rules are not followed you will be asked to leave and no refund will be given.

Treats: We ask you please be mindful of giving your dog treats. We understand you may be in the process of training and we do not want to interrupt the process but please give them very discreetly. If giving to a dog that is not yours please ask the owners permission prior to feeding.

Aggressive Behaviors: We have a 3 strike policy and you are out. Sorry, no exceptions. We need to be mindful of all dogs attending the meetup and their safety is number one. If we have to separate your dog from attacking other dogs we ask that you kindly remove yourself from the meetup. I know this is typically not a common pug trait but it can happen and must be mentioned. No refund will be given.

Minimum Pug age: We love those cute little faces!! For their protection and safety we do require a minimum pugs age of 16 weeks to attend. By this time all puppy shots should be finished.

Susquehanna Ski & Snowboard Club

Harrisburg, PA

Susquehanna Ski & Snowboard Club
SSC promotes skiing, snowboarding and the general love of winter snow sports through a great variety of winter trips, lessons, group discounts and membership meetings (monthly from September to April).  Throughout the rest of the year, we also have lots of fun with social activities like bike riding, kayaking, picnics and parties, golfing and more!  We are partnered with Roundtop Mountain to offer a comprehensive ski and snowboard program to enhance our skills on the snow, and we also enjoy discount tickets to other mountains through our affiliation with the Eastern PA Ski Council.  We enjoy a great relationship with our local ski shops, as their representatives often provide programs at several meetings each year. We welcome members of all ages who get excited about winter and life in general.   Instead of complaining about the cold weather, SSC members are out skiing and boarding, some locally, some out west, some in Canada, and yes, some in Europe!  If you are looking for some new friends to ski or ride with, or looking for new destinations and throughout the United States and Canada, you have found the right club. Our club was incorporated 52 years ago and we have been cel, ebrating the past year in a big way!  We encourage anyone visiting this site to get to know us and other skiers/boarders in the area by attending our monthly membership meetings (free to guests) and get to know other outdoor friends.  As Meetup Members, please feel free to post your own winter get-togethers on this site as well. Our SSC 2017 winter ski trips went on sale in June:  Big Sky, Montanna; Jay Peak, Vermont; Lake Placid, New York; St. Anton, Austria; Vail, Colorado; and Whitefish, Montanna.   You must be a dues-paying member of SSC ($25 single or $35 family/household) to travel with us on trips.    Please go to our website for complete details on these trips:   [www.skissc.com](http://www.skissc.com)
