Free and Almost Free in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA

Free and Almost Free in Pittsburgh

IF YOU WANT TO HOST AN EVENT: MESSAGE FRANK AT midnightmunchiespa@gmail.com and I will EMPOWER you to be an Event Organizer on 5 Meetup Groups with a reach in the Pgh Region (SW PA & a lil bit of WV and OH of over 38,000+ people).

FYI: Meetup is a WEB PAGE with a THEME that happens to be an EVENTS CALENDAR AND AN EMAIL LIST.  It mostly works because of the emails.

I also send out a MEETUP NEWSLETTER about the Hosted Events Happening on those meetups Once or Twice a Week. Basically anything can be posted but no "Network Marketing" Stuff like essential oils, Amway or anything scammy.  Try to make your event less like advertising and more like HEY LETS HANG OUT AND DO COOL STUFF TOGETHER.   This Free and Almost Free Meetup has one extra rule Events have to be $5 or Less (aka cheap) to FREE!

If an event says it's hosted by "Not Hosted by Group" then it is an INFORMATIVE EVENT telling you about FREE and Cheap cool things happening in the Burgh.  If you want to meetup with people, try to connect with others that are rsvp'd through the comments but don't always expect it to work.  HOSTED events have a PERSON hosting and will mention a place to MEET.

If you are a performer, it's okay to say on the meetup: Hey I am doing this comedy show/band/burlesque "come and see me and let me entertain you."

DONATE: It costs me Frank, as the main organizer of this Meetup group, $240 a year to host this group on Meetup.com! Please consider a small donation to help defray this cost.

Thank you.

DONATE HERE: https://secure.meetup.com/pittsburgh-free/contribute/

This Meetup is for EVENTS that have a ticket/cover of $5 or LESS or even FREE!

5-10% of the Events here on FREE & Almost FREE are SOCIAL (Hosted)

90-95% of the Events here are just informing you about cheap/cool/awesome stuff happening in the burgh region (not hosted just informational about FREE AND CHEAP EVENTS IN THE REGION).

So when there is a SOCIAL EVENT on this page with a HOST expect a couple extra emails to help make that meetup WORK and have a decent critical mass of people to make it decently fun!

There are a lot of activities in Pittsburgh that are free, or almost free - free days at museums, free concerts and films, free outdoors festivals, free cultural events ... . In addition to these (can't beat the price!), we'll post "almost free" ones where the cost is low (at most $5) compared to the fun that can be had.

This is an VERY ACTIVE MEETUP, you will get a ton of e-mail, my recommendation is if you have a secondary e-mail address use that for your user id. Or that you go up to "My Profile" on right hand side of page and select E-mail and Notifications. You still will get a bunch of e-mails but it will be more manageable. Meetups WORK because of E-mail, not because people come here to look for things to do. <br> FYI: Social events at places can be posted as long as it is FREE to go there or the cover is $5 or less. People can decide on their own if they are eating and drinking. Example: Lets go see this Band that has no cover charge at this Bar. If YOU want to eat or drink something while you're there that's on YOU.

It's still a FREE or ALMOST FREE event. If they charged more than $5 for cover or had a mandatory food n drink min above $5 then it won't get posted. Or a YOGA class that asks for a $5 donation is okay, $6 is not...  This was preventing some social events from happening on this page and we want to encourage social\fun events on the free and almost free group.

Francofous de Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, PA

Francofous de Pittsburgh

Welcome to the Francofous de Pittsburgh Meetup Group. Our group organizes or promotes activities that include weekly conversation meetups, French-language movie showings, French-language dinners, cooking lessons in French, outings to hear opera or symphonic music of France, trips to the theater for English-language plays written by French authors, museum visits, French Scrabble game nights, and talks by experts on subjects related to the French-speaking world.

The goal is to promote the french culture in the wide sense (language, culture etc.) so that everybody is welcome to join. If you attend an old French-class long time ago and want to try to speak French again or just listen the language, you're welcome. If you do not speak French but would like to learn about the French wines and its cultures, that is perfects and you are welcome to join our wine tasting events ! The more we are, the best !

To join our group, we do ask for a few basics:

1) Please upload a profile picture so that we can recognize you. Our organizers can sometimes find you quicker than you can find them at crowded events. Walking up to strangers and asking if they are there for a meetup can yield some funny looks.

2) Please answer the profile questions so everyone can learn about the other members of our wonderful group.

3) We do everything possible to foster an open, encouraging and inclusive French language environment. Ideally, participants will have at least a rudimentary ability and desire to learn to speak this beautiful language. It is expected that French is used exclusively at certain events: weekly French conversation meetups. Beginners are always welcome also ! Of course, this is not mandatory and English people can join. However, this is better to speak english in cultural event (wine tasting, movies, etc.)

4) Our group is as good as its members and the activities it sponsors. If you hear of a French-related event in Pittsburgh or have an idea for an activity, please let one of the organizers know. We welcome interest in helping to organize/host events.

7) Out of respect to our organizers as well as the members attending a meetup, we do ask that you change your RSVP if you have to back out of an event.  It is ideal if you can update 24 hours ahead, but if not, please contact the organizer (most will give their cell phone number to attendees, in case of changes).  IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO POST A "NO" FOR EVENT ATTENDANCE, unless it is to show a change of plans.

This list of possible risks is not comprehensive, because conditions on the street, including the weather, are constantly changing. TRIC cannot accept any liability for the existence of any such risks. Ultimately, each skater is responsible for staying alert to potential risks and obeying all traffic regulations. Finally, TRIC strongly recommends that all participants in TRIC sponsored events (including the city skates) possess and master a set of minimum skate skills before participating in its events: the ability to skate in control, especially on hills; to stop in traffic; to maneuver curbs; and to avoid obstacles.

Meet other parents who practice Attachment Parenting!

Attachment Parenting focuses on forming and nurturing strong bonds between parents and their children. Attachment Parenting challenges us as parents to treat our children with kindness, respect and dignity, and to model in our interactions with them the way we'd like them to interact with others.

And while this approach sounds simple, attachment parents often find themselves alone on this parenting journey. We saw the need for a community of like-minded parents in Pittsburgh and started this group. Since its inception, Pittsburgh Attachment Parenting Meetup Group has grown and evolved. We are all happy to be sharing this journey, supporting one another, and building a community based on respect for ourselves and our children.

To be or to be

Life is full of disappointment, betrayal and trauma that would blindside a person? Sadly it is a well known fact.
What we do with it is different from one to another.
You can dwell on the past with resentment eat your feelings to an emotional coma, in the form of a physical and mental obesity that keep you distracted yo-yo dieting and and even maybe yo yo dating. All So you don’t face life and deal With its pain,

...or take that power and fight for your health, self and healing. Easy said than done?

I agree, that’s why you are here. That’s why Iam here.We all struggle with motivation sometimes. And need like minded people to remind us of the goal.

I learned that changing a bad habit is hard, takes longer or as much time as the period spent engaging in the bad self defeating bad habit ( say emotional eating or hair plucking or inactive life style ? ... whatever it your “ torturous ongoing sin” you can insert it here...unless
You find something that makes you happy and no, not saying a new bakery or a Jew guy. A talent you want to sharpen, a language you want to learn, a place you want to explore, a passion!

whatever you are passionate about.
Take all your energy and frustration in life and put it into work, effort, make it art_ your humble powerful art born out pain.

Do what you are passionate about and do it like there is no tomorrow, because truth is as much as we forget, one day there could be no tomorrow.

For me that passion is writing and dancing; one I do alone in complete isolation, the other I want to share with you.

My name is Rubi, ( rabia )
I was born in Morocco and dancing run in my blood. Join me for an outdoor freeing experience, wear your sexiest ( sport wear ) and let the Arabian sounds of sharazade one thousand and one night vibes, takes you on a magic carpet ride or the soul, where for an hour you are no longer in frizburgh dealing with life disappointment.
You are connecting with your body through the music and reminding yourself you are f* sexy, smart, and spectacular no matter what life throws at you.
