It's better Outdoors

Philadelphia, PA

It's better Outdoors
Here is the 2024 annual email for those that may not have received it or are new to the group and didn't get the email blast: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MN1Vs4gPeUfZ9wMXpXAOmj_84s9gIeBK9XaH_doCUYY/edit?usp=sharing This is a group for anyone that loves to adventure outdoors and wants to do it with other people, even if they are complete strangers. If you like to hike, camp, raft, ski, board, travel and other activities this is THE group for you. If you're only looking for happy hours, this isn't the group for you, this is NOT a singles group. We plan happy hours now and then to get the members of the group together in social settings to discuss future adventures - some good plans can be made over a beer or two. And all good adventures end with a drink! It's better with someone else... It's better with beer/drinks... It's Better Outdoors... Come join us! Our motto is : "We don't talk quietly, hike slowly, go to bed early or only have just one drink" Please make sure to read the Waiver (General Release of Liability). By joining the group you accept the policy decribed here:  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1x-HMpzi-4XKZPa-7XTk-nQIa-v0CwZj5kgehs7mSnGw/edit?usp=sharing Note: this is NOT a beginners group and events are typically geared towards those with some experience usually at an intermediate or advanced level depending on the event - ie: we don't hike slow and don't do short hikes Please make sure you also read the 'What is expected of you' as described here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1C3oqyau0EjNVnHyKoc1DH0fi5PmLlB7wVH4-eSykZUg/edit?usp=sharing Joining the group also means you're ok with being photographed during adventures - we always take pics: for the memories and for promotion of future events (we can't always accommodate a 'no photo' request) This is a real meetup group, this is NOT a business nor am I promoting a business and I do not promote businesses. If you see an event posted that means that I will be there to meet you, greet you, do the activity with you and have a drink with you during or afterwards. We are also not a networking group and do not tolerate solicitation of members. We welcome anyone in their 20s - 50s of any gender, race or nationality. But please email the event organizer first if you want to bring a dog...sometimes they are ok and sometimes not. H3 OUTDOORS (H3O)

Valley Forge, PA

H3 OUTDOORS (H3O)
**Welcome Adventurers To H3 Outdoors or H3O!!!** \ You might be asking... what does H3 stand for? *Harmony... Happy... Healthy... Outdoors!* **"We're Not Just Hiking... We're H3O!"** We are a diverse group of hikers, walkers, backpackers, campers, runners, bicyclists, paddlers, rock climbers who simply enjoy being outside, with other people and getting some exercise at the same time. **Ten Years... over 6,000 members... and 4000 events!** We started out as a hiking group in 2013 and that is still our core activity, but H3O is evolving everyday in every way to expand our horizons to offer just about any fun, healthy outdoor activity possible. [H3O Member Code of Conduct (Click To View)](https://docs.google.com/document/d/17ZYMIr-fiMDEFPPO9D1WRVEfxVK6ELcy/edit?usp=drivesdk&ouid=112345812258770866986&rtpof=true&sd=true) **Where Do We Go? "Outdoors" Is A Pretty Big Place!** Many of our hikes and events are in Valley Forge National Park, Ridley Creek State Park and most other parks and hiking trail destinations located throughout Chester, Montgomery, Berks and Delaware counties. But we are always venturing out to other areas and neighboring states and now across the country. And in 2015 we hosted our first international hiking trip to England. **Are H3O Hikes and Activities For You?** \ Our members have a variety of physical skill levels from beginner to intermediate to advanced hardcore. We always plan our hikes and activities with this in mind and will let you know the minimum skill level required so you can decide if an activity is appropriate for you to attend. Hiking and activities should always be well within your own comfort and skill level. Our organizers are not professionals and all hiking and activities are always at your own risk and responsibility. Dogs on a leash are permitted at your own risk on Meetups where the venue allows dogs. Our number one goal is to have fun and enjoy the great outdoors while observing safety at all times. **Do We Charge Anything?** Meet Up charges a fee to maintain the website and all groups need to pay this to continue to post activities for their group. We don't charge our members but anyone can feel free to "Chip In" voluntary contributions. This is NOT a membership fee but a voluntary donation to keep the group going. If you are unable to make a donation, no worries; you are still welcome to join our group. Other than that, if a planned event requires a cost to conduct it (i.e., lodging, travel, permits, equipment, supplies, etc.) then we do charge the appropriate funds to cover those costs. We don't mark up any costs and we don't make a profit off any events. \ **So, What Do You Want To Do? Where Do You Want To Go?** We are open to the suggestions of our members. Let us know! Our activities are only limited by imagination! But let's keep it safe. Maybe no jumping out of helicopters. But that does sound fun! ***Come On Out and Join Us! We Hope To See You Out There! Whaaahoooo! ;)*** **Want To See For Yourself? Pickleball in Upper Dublin, Lower Moreland and More!

Ambler, PA

Pickleball in Upper Dublin, Lower Moreland and More!
Looking for a fun, relaxed Pickleball group. Join us in the Upper Dublin and Upper/Lower Moreland areas of North Wales, Ambler, Maple Glen, Horsham and more! Free to play. No host. Join an already posted time or post a time and see if others can join. See you soon my fellow pickleball friends. You are encouraged to bring water, a paddle, and a chair. All levels are welcome. See event details for more level of play details specific to that event. Those attending are very welcoming, friendly, and encouraging. Please keep in mind that the courts used for this MeetUp group are public and not reserved. Others from the public may attend. Signing up via this Meetup is not required nor a guarantee of court space. General suggested guidelines are to let those who are waiting play next. Prioritize those who have just shown up and haven't played yet. If you have played two, be extra willing to let others play next, even if you have won both. Some courts have a winners stay on for two games policy. Some have paddle up systems where you can put your paddle in line so those waiting the longest play next. There may be no official host at these sessions. In the event of no host, some in attendance may step up to help guide who plays next and organize. Those who are reported as not being encouraging and cooperative may be removed from this Meetup group. These events are free, but donations to cover the Meetup fees and additional pickleball equipement are appreciated. Suggested donation is $20/year. Donations are accepted by the group host Sarah Harkleroad in cash at an event. Venmo, paypal, etc. are available. Ask Sarah for details in person. Looking for other Pickleball options in the area? Try these out: 1. **Horsham Township** has a Meetup group. See the Township or Meetup details on how to join the group. All events are at courts behind the Horsham Police Station. Eight courts are available; some are brand new. Great parking, wind breaks, picnic benches for breaks, etc. There are some times that are open to the public, where membership is not required. See the Township/Meetup for these days and times. 2. **Upper Dublin Sports Center**: Fee required. They post events on Meetup but require that you download and use their own app: Upper Dublin Sports Center. They have indoor and outdoor courts. Events are moderated by a Pro. The Pro helps group similar-level players together. 3\. Some pickleball courts in the area: **Mason Mills** at 3500 Masons Mill Rd, Willow Grove, PA 19090 (almost always busy with players of all levels), **Three Tuns Park** at 1548 Cooper Dr. in Ambler, Henry Lee Willet Park at 1791 **Twining Road** in Willow Grove, **Aidenn Lair Park** in Dresher/Maple Glen, and **Riccardi Park** at [232 Hendricks St, Ambler, PA](https://www.mapquest.com/us/pennsylvania/riccardi-park-434681167) (4 courts but no play before 8am per township rules). **Water Tower Recreation Center (Chestnut Hill)** at 209 E Hartwell Ln, Philadelphia, PA 19118 has 8 free outdoor courts. Competition is intermediate to advanced. The courts have summer hours which are Monday - Friday 4pm - 8pm and Saturday 9am - 5pm. 5\. Explore the website https://**playtimescheduler**.com/ especially the Hatfield-Lansdale area (use the Globe icon to see the list of areas). Direct message the organizer Sarah if you'd like to be able to post additional pickleball events on this group.

Ballooning Adventures

Collegeville, PA

Ballooning Adventures

This is a group for anyone interested in Hot Air Balloons. However, PLEASE READ THE IMPORTANT DESCRIPTION OF THIS GROUP BEFORE YOU APPLY.

THIS MEETUP IS ABOUT A RECURRING ACTIVITY: it is about building a balloon team, NOT taking a balloon flight once and done. We are not demanding on how often you come, but want people who are truly interested, and we expect some participation. Please don't join the group "just in case" it could be something to do one day.

Ballooning is a fantastic activity and the Pennsylvania countryside both beautiful and very suitable for ballooning. Hot Air Balloons require a team to assemble, chase and eventually pack the balloon. The idea is to get together on weekends and also at the end of week days in the summer, and go fly a balloon when the weather permits.

Members will learn how to crew for a balloon, occasionally fly in the balloon. Those interested in photography will also have great photo ops.

No experience necessary to get started, but

1. Balloons can only fly at sunrise or 2h before sunset, so we meet early (5AM in summer) and members need to have a drivers license and transportation to the meeting point.

2. Since we meet quite early and sometimes we have to cancel at the last minute due to weather, it is strongly suggested for members to be located within 10 miles of Collegeville, PA - please do not apply if you live 30 miles away.

3. Members will need to run, lift and this is a moderately physical activity

Also to be very clear and set expectations:

YOU WILL NOT FLY THE FIRST TIME YOU COME to one of our flights. You will learn how to handle a balloon and follow-it (chase) during the flight. Later on, you will have opportunities to fly.
