**New Members: please read the following rules and guidelines before joining the group.** We look forward to including you at our events! **Note to members:** **Outdoor Adventures has a rule in place regarding a recognizable single person face photo prior to joining group (See detail at bottom of the page).** \*\*\*\*\*\* The base tenet of this group is **respect** for cultural differences and **courtesy** to other members and event organizers. The goal is to have fun and meet new people at events. * Members are encouraged to talk to other participants and to welcome new members. * Please avoid political, religious and other hot topics in a larger group. * Polite behavior. Please keep it light at first as you get to know folks. * We try to stay upbeat during large gatherings. We discourage folks regaling us with all their drama (ever) (Example: My Ex (wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend) divorced me and she/he did all these things ...) Those conversations are maybe for later when you know folks and are away from the large crowds. * Do not ask embarrassing or deeply personal questions to folks you do not yet know. (Example: Why are you a divorced person..) * We are not a singles group, but finding other people is natural. It is OK to ask if someone is available, but don't let that be the first thing out of your mouth. Show some subtlety. * Your profile name must contain your first or last name, not your profession or the name of an object. (Banker, Mortgage, plastic are examples of non conforming names) * Have a current ***single person, recognizable*** profile picture showing your face clearly ***before you join***. (There is a meetup issue that does not allow picture updates one you add yourself to a group, so folks will be temporarily removed so they can correct their profile and rejoin) * **Keep your RSVP updated**. In the case of no shows or late cancellation, there may be people on the wait list or waiting to see if slots open up that don't get to go because of late cancellations or no-shows. Frequent ***late cancellations and/or no-shows*** may cause member being **de-prioritized on the wait list** or removal from this group. *A final note: Large events often **overwhelm** our venues ability to provide speedy service. Our events are more about social contact and conversation. Relax and enjoy the conversations and expect some delays. Please be courteous to our servers and our venues.* Folks are welcome to propose events and even lead their own events. Events are not limited to these following categories, so don't feel constrained: * Hike and Walks * Lunch outings * Dinner outings * Brunch * Campouts * Festivals * Cultural outings * Purely social events * Trail & Town Biking We are hoping to get volunteers for both hosting and becoming Event Organizers. Feel free to reach out. **Photo Rule additional detail:** This serves multiple purposes.  ·        Security -   We need to be able to tie back folks to their membership.  ·        Organizer recognition – The organizers need to be able to identify folks at events (And yes, we have had crashers) ·        Member recognition – Members need to be able to identify the folks they have talked with. A real life example:  In another group, a participant was inappropriate with ladies.  That group did not originally have any rule about pictures and the misbehaving party was never identified.  There are other examples of behaviors that in Outdoor Adventures would have caused an expulsion.   We take members **safety as well as courtesy towards others seriously.**

This is not your typical dinner and board game couples group. Don't get me wrong.. We love to eat and we will be doing lots of it... but for sanity reasons we would like to think Dallas has more to offer. My husband and I love the outdoors so when weather permits, we are going outside! Preference will always go to outdoor activities like camping, biking, kayaking, water sports, boating, SUP, etc., but because  we are limited on those things in Dallas I will be mixing in other unique and fun activities like karaoke, competitive things, eating,drinking, festivals, sporting events, concerts, disc golf, go kart racing, poker nights, BBQs, house parties, 5k's, scavenger hunts,  pub crawls, comedy shows, and whatever else sound interesting. Ideally this will be a great group of outdoorsy people that are fun and down for adventure, and not a bunch of indoorsy people that only really want to go to dinner. Every once in awhile we will spice it up with weekend trips. Activities and events will be geared towards late 30's to early 40's.

Housekeeping: 


1) ATTENDANCE POLICY: I have one hard rule. I have NO interest in people who are inconsiderate or flakes. I pay for this meetup monthly out of my own pocket and I spend countless of my free hours researching awesome gatherings and experiences for the group. If you no show to even ONE event you will be removed immediately. If you RSVP regularly but " something always comes up" c'mon.. It is obvious what is happening. You will also be removed after we get done laughing at your " last minute emergencies.. You know.... cat stuck on a roof, or boss called me in last minute, or I forgot about a family reunion, etc... Or whatever else you make up because you just don't feel like it or found something better to do.. 


2) PARTICIPATION: I want this to be a very active group. Request to be a member because you want to start making new friends and participating right away. If you have been an inactive member in 3 months you are subject to be removed. If you got pregnant, mother in law moved in for 6 months.. Whatever.. Cool. I get it. We all have "real" lives... If you can't participate for a while just say so in comments or email and it won't seem like you are not interested and all is good... . 


3) PROFILE PICTURE: It is awesome that you have 15 animals and super cute kids but.... This is a couples group so you must have a couples picture to be accepted. 


4) COMPATABILITY: If you are too conservative, judgmental of people who don't share your beliefs, uptight, offended by drinking or bad words, afraid to break your nails, flaky, too religious, dramatic, two faced, afraid to get dirty, racist, don't consider yourself fun..... this is not the group for you!

**The Unbiological Sisterhood** is a women’s social group committed to sisterhood, friendship, and fun. We are mostly 50+ and most of our activities take place during the week, mornings and afternoons, in **McKinney, Allen,** **Frisco and Plano.** **Our members organize all of our events. We depend on members to actively organize and suggest activities that lead to bonding and friendships.** We do lunches, happy hours, movies, walks, line dancing, canasta, mah-jongg, game days, field trips, arts and leisure, documentary discussions and book discussions. Don't see an event you like? Create it! We love finding new activities, trying new foods and exploring our fabulous Metroplex with our SISTERS. **MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS** \*\* #1 You MUST upload and maintain a current profile photo of yourself. We will not accept you without a photo. We need to be able to find and recognize each other at events, and stay safe. \*\*#2 Participate!!! Members whose dues are more than 2 months overdue or have been inactive for more than 3 months are removed. You can always rejoin when your schedule permits you to attend activities again. \*\*#3 This is a drama-free, clique-free zone!! It should not need to be said, but we will say it anyway ... this group is for women who want to make real, true, lasting friendships. Be polite, be considerate and be friendly to every other member. \*\*#4 Be respectful - keep your RSVPs up-to-date. Understandably things may happen to prevent you from attending an event, but *constant no-shows are not acceptable.* If you "no-show" to events or activities more than 3 times a year, OR habitually cancel, we will have no choice but to reconsider your membership with the group. \*\*#5 Plan activities! Everyone needs to host at least one meetup at least once a year. This does not have to be at your home - pick a restaurant, plan an activity, get a group together for a walk, everyone needs to contribute to making the group fun! \*\*#6 Events are for paid members only. Always check with the organizers before inviting a guest who is not a paid member of the Sisterhood. You may bring any guest one time (with a necessary approval). After that, they need to join. They have a 30 day free trial period and are then able to RSVP for themselves. \*\*#7 The Unbiological Sisterhood charges an Annual Membership Fee of $10.00. The fee goes towards covering the cost of running the group on meetup.com and other expenses. As a new member the $10 fee is due within 30 days of joining the group. ***\*\*#8 NO SOLICITING !!!*** Your only motive for joining this group should be to have fun and to meet new friends. Members are not allowed to solicit for products or services; nor do we allow self promotion, fund-raising or schemes, for any purpose whatsoever. Do you like to go out for wine, dinner or brunch with like minded ladies? Are you looking for interesting authors to read? Then this is the group for you! We’ll read all sorts of interesting materials, both fiction and nonfiction (we’ll vote on selections of course). Come meet new friends and find interesting reads. Please note that **a picture of your face is required for membership (no avatars, no photos of you facing backwards)**. This will help us to identify you during events. Always be sure to check ALL comments on activities BEFORE you go. Sometimes an event is cancelled by the venue, or due to bad weather, or for low attendance (not for low attendance when tickets have to be pre-purchased). We always communicate in the comments in the days before an activity. A word about no-shows....If you are unable to attend an activity, please be sure to update your RSVP to NO so that the host isn't looking for you, especially if you have never met the host. This can be particularly stressful when several people no-show to the same activity. We'll send reminders in the days before the activity, but please update as soon as you know if you aren't able to attend. To turn on notifications, go to your profile picture, settings, email updates, and then scroll down to updates about your groups.
