Outdoor Connection: Women's Hiking & Outdoors

Dallas, TX

Outdoor Connection: Women's Hiking & Outdoors
**PLEASE READ OUR FULL DESCRIPTION BELOW BEFORE REQUESTING TO JOIN THIS GROUP (CLICK READ MORE). THANK YOU!** Welcome! If you enjoy spending time outside, getting in a good workout, and connecting with others, Outdoor Connection is the group for you.  Whether you're new to the outdoors, or more experienced but can't find anyone to join you on adventures, our group is a great place to build your new outdoor family of friends. We're primarily a hiking group, but we also occasionally post walking, kayaking, biking, camping, backpacking, and informational 101 events. **\~\~ Take the time out of your busy life and make a connection - a connection to nature, to new friends, and most of all to yourself. \~\~** **MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS** * **All members must be female and over the age of 21.**  Our events are for members only - no children, pets, or guests. * Your Meetup name must be your real name (first name only is fine). * **You must have a Meetup profile photo that clearly shows your face**; this should be fairly close (headshot distance i.e shoulders up), forward-facing, non-blurry, with no other people (this is to allow us to accurately identify members at events and is an ongoing requirement to maintain membership). * You must reside in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. **ABOUT OUR EVENTS** * Most of our events are fitness focused and part of our regular members' fitness routines; this means that we're generally moving at a consistent pace and not taking breaks for pictures, snacks, rest, etc. This is a different style of hiking than a lot of people are used to, but it's an awesome opportunity to challenge yourself and grow your abilities! We offer a variety of pace options. * **Our events are members only.** We do not allow guests (if you want to bring a friend, please have them join the group and sign up for the event themselves). * **We do not allow pets or children.** * Some events require members to pay park entry fees, parking fees, campsite fees, rental costs, etc. Members are responsible for paying their own fees for all events. * Our events are generally very early in the mornings to avoid heat and crowds, and we do start hiking right at the posted start time (if you're late, you'll miss us). * We host events throughout the entire Dallas / Fort Worth metro area, and occasionally explore the rest of TX and surrounding states on camping trips. Most of our events are 5-10 mile day hikes. * **We're good stewards of the parks we visit.  We follow Leave No Trace principles, respect trail closures, and are considerate of other park users.** **IMPORTANT!** * Outdoor activities can be dangerous and may result in injury or worse. * Our event organizers/hosts/leaders are *not* guides. They are simply hikers like you who are willing to help gather people together. * You agree by joining our group to hold harmless all members of Outdoor Connection to include our members, group organizers, and event leaders. By joining our events you assume all risks and are responsible for your own physical safety and your property. **DISCLAIMER AND LIABILITY WAIVER** * Outdoor activities (including hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking, swimming, biking, and others) are understood to involve inherent risks. It is your responsibility as a group member to observe all appropriate safety measures during any and all activities concerning this meetup group. By participating in this voluntary group, you expressly waive any and all claims that may arise from any of the activities planned, including travel to and from and during the activity, and to understand the organizer, assistants, and the group do not assume liability for personal injuries, death, or destruction or loss of personal property. By participating in the group, you expressly waive any and all such claims against each and every other group member, including without limitation any and all claims against the group organizer or assistant organizers.

Dallas Travel & Activities Group

Dallas Travel & Activities Group
This group is for travelers who don’t want to wait on their friends to finally say “yes” to travel. Life is too short and the world is too big! The trips in this group are usually 90% solo travelers but everyone is welcome, female/male, solo/couple/friends, straight/LGBTQIA+! So let’s travel together with fun, like-minded travelers! If you have an open mind and are kind to fellow travelers, you will fit in perfectly on these trips! **The local events in the group are member-driven** so if you’d like to host a Meetup in your area (i.e. a brunch, happy hour, concert, go for a walk, coffee, etc), feel free to let me know and I'll help you get it set up in the group! **NOTE:** The people on these trips are from all over the States but you’ll always be connected with people from the same city on a trip so you can meet up face to face and get to know your future travel buddies prior to the trip. You’ll also be connected to the whole group via email prior to the trip so you can virtually get to know those that are from different areas. On average, the people on each trip are 90% solo travelers but it’s hard to predict the exact demographic for each trip so please keep this in mind. Feel free to join the Facebook group to connect with past travelers on these trips, see pictures, ask questions, funny travel memes, travel-related articles, etc: [https://www.facebook.com/groups/613025845523107](https://www.facebook.com/groups/613025845523107) The trips in this group are put on by a tour company called Globe Drifters and they focus on small group trips geared towards solo travelers with the mission of giving new meaning to travel by putting the human experience at the heart of their trips. The groups are small, usually with 12 people maximum per trip and about 90% of everyone on each trip are solo travelers so you’re not stuck being the odd man out on trips with mostly couples. You’ll have the best of both worlds, solo travel with the security of a small group of other solo travelers for some company on your adventure! To contact Globe Drifters directly, you can email [info@globe-drifters.com](mailto:info@globe-drifters.com).

Network Outdoors Dallas Chapter Monthly Meetup Group

Dallas, TX

We have found great success building strong bonds and trust with others who also enjoy living life close to the land or waterways. Business relationships take time, but it’s amazing what happens just by spending a few days, or even a few hours, together on a fishing trip, sharing stories around a campfire, a good long hike, or crossing a field looking for fowl. Network Outdoors is more than just a group of business professionals or business owners from different industries looking to pass cards and swap 30-second commercials. Our members share experiences, grow businesses, promote outdoor activities, and give back to those organizations who work tirelessly serving our land, water, and habitats. Join us as a guest to meet other outdoors men & women the 3rd Thursday each month from 4:00-6:00pm at Frisco Gun Club, Frisco, TX. All food, beverages and everything you need to participate on the ranges is provided if you don't have your own gear. You DO NOT need to be a member of Network Outdoors to attend our monthly meetups. We welcome new guests! Monthly Meetup Agenda 4:00 - 4:30 Networking & Food 4:30 - 5:00pm Introductions & Event Updates 5:00 - 6:00pm Safety Talk Then Private VIP Range* 6:00pm Happy Hour It’s magical what the outdoors does for us as individuals. Imagine what it could do for your business and the community! *you do not have to shoot if you don't want to, but would still like to visit and meet people. We also have a trained/certified Range Safety Officer with us at all times while on the range and plenty of people to help with anyone newer to shooting sports there for their first time.

Outdoor Adventures, Social and Dining

Dallas, TX

Outdoor Adventures, Social and Dining
**New Members: please read the following rules and guidelines before joining the group.** We look forward to including you at our events! **Note to members:** **Outdoor Adventures has a rule in place regarding a recognizable single person face photo prior to joining group (See detail at bottom of the page).** \*\*\*\*\*\* The base tenet of this group is **respect** for cultural differences and **courtesy** to other members and event organizers. The goal is to have fun and meet new people at events. * Members are encouraged to talk to other participants and to welcome new members. * Please avoid political, religious and other hot topics in a larger group. * Polite behavior. Please keep it light at first as you get to know folks. * We try to stay upbeat during large gatherings. We discourage folks regaling us with all their drama (ever) (Example: My Ex (wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend) divorced me and she/he did all these things ...) Those conversations are maybe for later when you know folks and are away from the large crowds. * Do not ask embarrassing or deeply personal questions to folks you do not yet know. (Example: Why are you a divorced person..) * We are not a singles group, but finding other people is natural. It is OK to ask if someone is available, but don't let that be the first thing out of your mouth. Show some subtlety. * Your profile name must contain your first or last name, not your profession or the name of an object. (Banker, Mortgage, plastic are examples of non conforming names) * Have a current ***single person, recognizable*** profile picture showing your face clearly ***before you join***. (There is a meetup issue that does not allow picture updates one you add yourself to a group, so folks will be temporarily removed so they can correct their profile and rejoin) * **Keep your RSVP updated**. In the case of no shows or late cancellation, there may be people on the wait list or waiting to see if slots open up that don't get to go because of late cancellations or no-shows. Frequent ***late cancellations and/or no-shows*** may cause member being **de-prioritized on the wait list** or removal from this group. *A final note: Large events often **overwhelm** our venues ability to provide speedy service. Our events are more about social contact and conversation. Relax and enjoy the conversations and expect some delays. Please be courteous to our servers and our venues.* Folks are welcome to propose events and even lead their own events. Events are not limited to these following categories, so don't feel constrained: * Hike and Walks * Lunch outings * Dinner outings * Brunch * Campouts * Festivals * Cultural outings * Purely social events * Trail & Town Biking We are hoping to get volunteers for both hosting and becoming Event Organizers. Feel free to reach out. **Photo Rule additional detail:** This serves multiple purposes.  ·        Security -   We need to be able to tie back folks to their membership.  ·        Organizer recognition – The organizers need to be able to identify folks at events (And yes, we have had crashers) ·        Member recognition – Members need to be able to identify the folks they have talked with. A real life example:  In another group, a participant was inappropriate with ladies.  That group did not originally have any rule about pictures and the misbehaving party was never identified.  There are other examples of behaviors that in Outdoor Adventures would have caused an expulsion.   We take members **safety as well as courtesy towards others seriously.**
