50+ Keeping Active Fitness Group
Burlington, VT
Hello and thank you for visiting our 50+ Keeping Active Fitness Group "About Us" page! This group is made up of men and women over 50 years old that get together for fun, friendship and a variety of indoor and outdoor activities in order to stay fit. We are made up of married, committed and single adults. We are NOT an online dating site. Everyone has found that doing fitness endeavors together is far easier and more fun than doing them alone or not at all so we invite you to come join us.
We do seasonal events such as quick paced fitness walks (not strolls), easier hikes, beginning biking, longer distance road biking, and flat water kayaking during the summer months. In the winter we go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, skating, hiking, and take part in various types of dance functions. Depending on the time of year there are usually 3-4 events events scheduled each week appealing to different fitness levels.
To join our group, first please familiarize yourself with our Code of Conduct. We also have a few requirements: a current facial photo of yourself as well as your name must be used on your profile. Membership dues are $10 per year, per person. Couples will need to get two memberships. The Meet-Up site will accept debit or credit cards or you can pay me in cash at an event within the trial period. Dues are required in order to join the group. If you prefer to mail a check for your dues please contact the organizer for an address.
We look forward to having you join us!
Overland Office
Burlington, VT
If you're a freelance or remote worker and have tired of working from an office or home, need an occasional change in environment, or need to give your wallet a break from paying to work in cafés or coworking spaces, this is the coworking solution for you! We work outdoors in beautiful public spaces in the greater-Burlington, VT, area.
We usually gravitate to parks with a view, shade, free parking, and good cellular service. You are encouraged to bring everything you need (your work supplies, food, drink, appropriate clothing for the weather, etc.) and stay as long as you like. The organizer will usually arrive in a vehicle which operates as base-camp, incl. power (phones & tablets, possibly with the occasional notebook top-off), cell phone & WiFi for emergencies, a mobile printer & scanner, and other amenities such as the ability to boil water for coffee & tea, garbage & recycling, etc.
Please RSVP to meetups in advance if you know you will attend, or even while they're underway if that's when you decide to join, to help ensure that we don't reschedule or cancel.
Important: Please don't bring products to sell unless you have the appropriate vending permits. Speaking of permits, meetups are limited to 16 attendees to ensure we stay under the 20 person limit, even if a few friends tag along, before we need to get event permits ourselves.
