Seattle Outdoor Adventurers (SOA)

Seattle, WA

Seattle Outdoor Adventurers (SOA)
SOA hikes everywhere from cities to mountains to deserts. We go backpacking, biking, and climbing; ski and snowshoe, kayak, sail and swim, and in many other ways celebrate nature and the great outdoors. While exploring the Pacific Northwest is thrilling and restorative, we care about our delicate environments and promote Leave-No-Trace principles and good trail etiquette. To better protect ourselves from injuries and other life-threatening conditions, all members should take safety and preparedness seriously, carry the Ten Essentials, and be self reliant. Check our calendar and join us on an upcoming adventure. We're eager to welcome new friends and hope to meet you in person soon.  Your Organizer, Michael Songbird DISCLAIMER: All activities hosted by Seattle Outdoor Adventurers (SOA) involve risk. Modern Moms Meetup

Everett, WA

Modern Moms Meetup

Are you a mom who is having trouble finding the right mom group near you?

Are you progressive, liberal, open-minded, sarcastic and/or hilarious? Have you found yourself with a tiny person (or persons), who you love more than anything, but your neighbor has a Donald Trump sign in their yard and it makes no sense?

Are you new to being a mom and/or new to staying at home after kicking ass at work? Do you want to make like-minded friends to talk to about being a mom but also to discuss politics, television, books, movies, US Weekly, and what cute things are at Target right now? Or are you just looking for a different group of people for interesting conversation/fun activities with the kids and without?

We get along with all sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds, but full disclosure: most of us practice the religion of "don't be a jerk", get our news from NPR vs. Fox News, and worship at the altar of Trevor Noah/John Oliver/John Stewart/Stephen Colbert. If any of this makes you gag, this is probably not your scene.

Modern Moms activities are mostly geared toward the infant/toddler/preschooler crew. We meet up at playgrounds, indoor play spaces, museums, libraries, and anywhere else that sounds fun and has the potential to wear out our kids/induce them to nap. We also do some mom-only activities including mom's night out.

Note:

An active group is a rad group, so we require that all new members attend at least 2-3 events per month. The vast majority of our meetups are on weekdays, often in the morning.  Although many of us are stay at home moms, we also have several members who work outside the home with flexible or part time schedules.

We want to be as straightforward as possible in letting you know what this group is about and not wasting anyone's time, so MMM might not be a good fit if:

-You don't want to hear people complain about 45
-You don't vaccinate your kids for any reason other than a legit medical issue.
-You would be horrified at the sight of a fellow mom enjoying an occasional mimosa at a play date.
-You would be outraged if you heard a mom refer to her kid as an asshole
-You are a judgy sanctimommy about any of the following issues: breastfeeding vs. formula, cloth diapers vs. disposable, feeding your kids fast food sometimes, screen time, or any of the other potentially hot-button parenting issues.

Please take some time to thoughtfully answer the profile questions so we can really get a sense of who you are.

Shamanism & Curanderismo with Paloma Cervantes DMV Area

Arlington, WA

Shamanism & Curanderismo with Paloma Cervantes DMV Area
Welcome to our Shamanism & Curanderismo DMV Area Group. You don't need to know anything; you just need to have an open heart to enjoy and learn from this group. We share our spiritual knowledge. What we find interesting, what works for us, what doesn't work for us, our mistakes and how can we apply all this spiritual knowledge to everyday life. In a few words, this group is about improving the quality of your life with ancient healing and spiritual techniques. \*Please take the time to read this page and learn what to expect from us. This group is about the “Spiritual Path”. Which spiritual path? “ANY”….. because SPIRITUALITY IS YOUR OWN PATH. Each person follows their own spiritual path. Spirituality is not a religion. IT IS WHAT YOU CARRY INSIDE YOUR SOUL. So, from the information and activities that we share in this group, please take what your heart feels is good for you. Follow your intuition and live life from a powerful, happy, loving, and peaceful position. We call ourselves “practitioners”. Why? Because we practice what we learn. Who is a practitioner? Anybody who does energy and spiritual work to help herself or himself, family, friends, our community, and Mother Earth. As practitioners, our goal is to find harmony and peace in our lives. We accomplish this by living a life that integrates everything that we know regarding body, mind, and spirit for achieving a "whole" life (complete). Besides our regular classes, workshops, and ceremonies we believe that one of the most important parts that helps bring harmony into ourselves and to create that "whole" or "complete" life is being in Nature or Mother Earth as we call her. You will find in our group many activities that introduce members to Mother Earth like hiking, camping, and kayaking. You can learn more about all this on our webpage Ixtoii Institute of Shamanism and Curanderismo: https://www.palomacervants.com/ We have different activities from different spiritual paths. Curanderismo or Mexican Shamanism is the spiritual path less known and also the most misunderstood. You will find in this group many different types of classes like herbology, meditation, Curanderismo, Shamanism, etc. THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CURANDERISMO • It is not a religion. It is a way of living life. It is compatible with any religion, as it helps to develop a higher spirituality and therefore a better experience with your own religious path. • Curanderismo is a general term to describe the ancient traditions of the Americas. Curanderismo has branched into different paths because of the size of our continent. The foundation is the same, but the way the ceremonies are performed may vary. There is no type of Curanderismo better than another. The best is the one that works for you. • It’s not black magic, nor the dark arts. The foundation of Curanderismo is love and respect for everything and everyone. • The Curanderismo that we practice is natural; it is not induced by any preparation. You will learn a series of exercises to reach other realities without the need for chemicals that may harm your body. • And of course, like anything else, it can be a double-edged sword. With these lessons, you can do good or harm. That’s on you, but as a recommendation think before doing anything. Think if it is for the benefit of the universe and never do anything if your mental state is not in peace. GROUP GUIDELINES: All these may sound harsh, and I think it is necessary: •This is not a dating group. If you harass or stalk somebody you will be banned from the group. Because our spiritual community is not so big, if you have in the past harassed somebody that we know you will be banned right away. •If you send inappropriate emails to people, you haven't met yet you will be banned from the group •If you don’t respect another member’s spiritual beliefs, you will be banned too. There is no better spirituality than others. It is what works for you. Please read lesson #1 below. •If you bring drama to the group, you will be banned too •If you demonstrate anti-social, inappropriate behavior guess what?...you will be banned from the group •This is not a spiritual counseling group either. If you want a private consultation or a healing ceremony, send me an email to hola@palomacervantes.com •If you are interested in an event, we suggest you read it on the computer because the phone app doesn't show everything. Also, read again the introduction or “about” page to know exactly what to expect. •If you reserve an event and you don’t show up and don’t let us know on time you will have 3 chances. After the 3rd time if you reserve you will be added to a waiting list. One day before the event after we close reservations we will let you know if there is a spot available for you. As a spiritual group, I think we need to show respect for the organizers who put their time and effort into organizing the events and to the members on the waiting list who wish to come to the events. Thank you for your understanding and Bienvenido (welcome) to our group! I created this group with love and I share my experience with love. Ixtoii Paloma Cervantes Mexican Shaman or Curandera Email: hola@palomacervantes.com \*Who is Ixtoii Paloma Cervantes?.......Here is a link to read about her, go to "Meet Paloma" or read this: "I am that kind of Curandera". Instructor and Practitioner: The Curanderismo Tradition of Mexico is the Ancient way of bringing the body, mind, emotions, and soul back into a state of balance. Customarily an elder Curandera(o) teaches the tradition in oral form. Ixtoii Paloma Cervantes is an elder, instructor, or “Maestra” of the Curanderismo Tradition and also a full-time Curandera. She was born and raised in Mexico into the tradition. She started working full-time as a Curandera in 1986. Then 12 years later, in 1998, she moved to California where she kept her practice and started to teach Mexican Shamanism or Curanderismo and other spiritual modalities. Now not only she teaches in California but also in other states and countries. \*IMPORTANT NOTE: Paloma is a Mexican Shaman who believes that "medicine plants" are helpful to some people only when used properly in ceremonies. The use of any conscious expanding plant or animal medicines should only be used with the strict and loving guidance of an experienced facilitator. She does not allow the use of any plants, brews, ceremonial tobacco, recreational drugs, alcohol, cannabis, etc. in her workshops or healing ceremonies. Please do not use these before or during her events and services. If you do so you will be asked to leave the event immediately and without a refund. For medicinal plant or animal medicine guidance, please arrange for a private consultation to discuss your particular needs and expectations. By joining this group, you have read and accepted this agreement \*LEGAL NOTICE: It is illegal and unlawful for anyone to post any libelous, untrue, or misleading statement either on a website, social media site, or anywhere on the web either about me, my workshops, my products, or my company. Under the Civil Code, anyone who writes or comments any derogatory, untrue, or false statement is guilty of libel and is liable for any and all damages as a result of those false/misleading statements.

The deadline to RSVP is usually at least 24 hours before the activity. You may update or change your RSVP up until that time. As a courtesy to the host, the sooner you respond the better. **Please do not RSVP YES unless you can commit to attending**. Everyone has emergencies, but canceling at the last minute because something better came up or not paying your share for a reservation creates an inconvenience to other members attending. Alternatively, you can find a replacement to pay your share, bring your food contribution, find another driver, etc. ***Email:*** Please respond promptly to e-mail messages relating to event planning details. If you have not responded by one week before the event your RSVP will be changed to NO, (sooner if the activity is one that requires an advance deposit.) **It is your responsibility to be sure your e-mail account is a functioning or to check the Meetup website for updates on the event.** ***Guests:*** Unless otherwise stated, Ladies Club activities are for members only. It will be stated in the event description when others are welcome (men, children, pets, etc.) ***Event Locations:*** **Locations are posted in the calendar event.** To protect member privacy, some events hosted in private homes will not list the address on the website. Instead, the address will be emailed to Club members that have RSVP’d YES to attend the event. ***Costs***\*:\* Most events are “No Host”, i.e., Members pay for their own expenses (food/drink, transportation, tickets, etc.) When applicable, estimated activity costs will be included in the event description. In other cases, the description will state if the event is a potluck or partly funded by the Club. ***Carpooling:*** For some events, the host may coordinate carpooling or other transportation for the attendees. When carpooling, be prepared with extra money for gas sharing and for any optional impromptu activities along the way. ***Membership Cancellation:*** Our group believes that all members should treat each other respectfully. These guidelines are based on that principle. Accordingly, the following are potential reasons for membership cancellation: · If you RSVP YES but don’t attend the actual event, the host may update your status for that event to No Show. If you are a frequent No Show or if you often drop out of events at the last minute, we reserve the right to cancel your membership. · Two or more incidents when a member fails to follow these guidelines also is a basis for membership cancellation. Club leadership will send a message with a reminder about the issue the first and second time. If the issue continues you will be removed from the group and may not be allowed to rejoin. · If you haven't visited the Meetup site for six months or more, we reserve the right to remove you from the Stanwood/Camano Ladies group. We can only assume it wasn't what you wanted.

Mill Creek On-Line Publishing Mastermind Lunch

Lynnwood, WA

A working meeting for those publishing on-line, whether engaged in some facet of on-line publishing or the 'whole of it'. This meetup comprises 2 hour lunch meetings (buying lunch not required) twice weekly 1 - 3 pm, as in the afternoon for those of us already on a 24/7 internet clock.

This internet marketing mastermind group is moderated by a past president of a local Toastmasters Club, which indicates some organized focus. These meeting times of course assume you have already somehow 'adjusted your professional life' to an 'on-line' existence where time is more relative. ...somehow...

No prior experience required, however everything you have done, bring it! Your first homework assignment will be to make up your own personal/professional 'skill-set list' that you think or know is required for the 'on-line' publisher/writer content maker/shaker.

Every Tuesday and Thursday, that is every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon 1-3. Please show up to participate as you can, a large group not required as it all boils down to one person at a time making their dream 'happen for them'.

Missing meetings will not degrade its value to you, only possibly dilute 'the pace' of ideas, concepts and unfolding skill-set that we see as needed or required for on-line success. However, meetup records will be made available. (Secretary desired here).

If you have been spending perhaps thousands of dollars and some years of effort already, come now to engage a fast track but thorough path of 'let's do it now already'. We will concentrate meeting unto meeting upon what need be done next. Covering both 'whole picture views' and where you actually are personally in this adventure.

DISCLOSURE: Though this meetup is not of itself 'content sensitive', that is, I do not care' what you are publishing as long as you are intent to be responsible for it'. There are various challenges more pronounced to say publishing 'adult material' or 'some kind of political activism' and we will be dealing with some of those challenges along the way as a matter of course and pragmatism. We will with this deal with protecting and policing ones material on-line. I believe in paranoia. I am for instance, publishing poignantly 'occult and magick studies' which encounters similar on-line stresses. So if this kind of 'content' offends, please do not join here.
