Outdoor activities groups near Mount Vernon, WA

Skagit Adventure Group

Mount Vernon, WA

Skagit Adventure Group
Skagit Adventure Group is mostly outdoor activity oriented, but we also have Meetups that feature social events, educational seminars, live music, and more. On most of our activities, we tend to travel as a group at a moderate pace. Join us for hiking and backpacking, bicycling, kayaking, live music shows, snowshoeing, skiing/snowboarding, and more. Don't see activities you like? If event organizers and others share that interest, odds are a suggestion can be scheduled for an outing. Bring a great attitude and a desire to have fun! EXPECTATIONS OF MEMBERS-IMPORTANT: First, I'd like to welcome all of the new members and thank all of the long-term, active members!  This is a bit long, but all of it is important.  Please read! Inherent risks come with any activity, especially outdoor and backcountry ones. Organizers in this group are not guides, instructors, or medical professionals. You are responsible for your safety and the safety of those you bring as guests. We may give you our opinions on whether or not an activity is suitable for you, but the ultimate responsibility lies with you, as we are not experts. For outdoor activities, you should carry the ten essentials: http://en.wikipedia.o.... . Certain activities may require other gear. If you don't know, ask!  Someone can likely share advice or ideas. Signing up for events: Please have a strong expectation that you will actually attend the event...when signing up. If you are signed up as attending, do not bring another person unless you have a confirmed RSVP +1. If an event fills up, but there is a wait list option, I encourage RSVP'ing on the wait list. Cancellations happen frequently, and people are then moved from the wait list to the attending group. Also, event organizers occasionally increase the slots for events. Please contact the event organizer if you are trying to waitlist with a +1, as there are some challenges to that. Part of signing up for events is accepting the timeframe for the event.  Leaving the group early on outdoor activity events is not ok, other than a few extenuating circumstances.  If there is any question about this, contact the organizer in advance to discuss.  Generally, leaving social activities early is ok for things like concerts, pub nights, author events, etc. No-shows and late cancellations: It's disrespectful, causes others inconvenience, and we keep track of these. If you have any no-shows or last minute cancels, it is up to event organizers whether or not you are welcome at their future events. They also have the discretion to move you to the wait list or cancel your RSVP, especially if it will allow someone dependable to get a spot. A short-notice cancellation doesn't allow enough time for people on the wait list to plan ahead to attend and makes for a smaller group. Did I mention how disrespectful this is? I do understand that sometimes circumstances dictate that people can't attend an event. Unless it's an emergency, please cancel your RSVP with as much advance notice as possible. Otherwise, the group can end up waiting for someone at a carpool location or a trail-head (where there's often no cell reception) for people running late. Excessive no-shows and/or late cancels are cause for removal from the group. Carpooling and gas money: Please contribute money to the drivers that are kind enough to transport you. Drivers incur expenses for fuel as well as vehicle maintenance, insurance, etc. They're doing you a favor by driving. This also applies to things like ferry fees, parking passes/charges, campground fees, etc. Membership dues: It costs about $200/year to have a Meetup group. So far, I'm resisting having mandatory member dues. Some people have generously contributed towards the fee, but I don't receive enough to cover the annual fee for the group. It's not mandatory, but pitching in a couple/few bucks per person, per year would be much appreciated. Membership in the group: Occasionally, we delete people due to inactivity. If anyone is deleted for this reason and wants to rejoin, you're welcome to do that. Note that dropping membership in an attempt to erase records of no shows, then rejoining will result in an outright ban from the group.  Also, having more than one profile per person is not allowed. Skagit Adventure Group is a social group offering opportunities to go out and do fun things with other people. What this group is not, is the Meetup version of Match.com, or any other dating website. Member profiles are not there to browse through and send prospective dating partners messages. I know this group has single members, and some of them are open to meeting people to date. That said, some people are not here for that, and it may make them uncomfortable to feel like they're on a dating website. The last thing I want is people to avoid participating because someone is making them uncomfortable, either in person or on the website. If friendships or relationships develop through spending time together in group activities, great! I don't want to discourage that. Sending unsolicited e-mails to people you haven't met is inappropriate, as is being pushy/creepy in person. If someone is making you uncomfortable, please let me know.  Harassment and stalking will not be tolerated. Dogs are welcome (if well-behaved) on most of our hikes and will often be off-leash. If you've made it this far, I'd really appreciate your editing your profile for this group by answering, "I understand and agree." to the last question in your group profile (which refers to this message.) Last but not least, please show up with a positive attitude and a desire to share fun activities with interesting people!

It will be stated in the event description when others are welcome (men, children, pets, etc.) ***Event Locations:*** **Locations are posted in the calendar event.** To protect member privacy, some events hosted in private homes will not list the address on the website. Instead, the address will be emailed to Club members that have RSVP’d YES to attend the event. ***Costs***\*:\* Most events are “No Host”, i.e., Members pay for their own expenses (food/drink, transportation, tickets, etc.) When applicable, estimated activity costs will be included in the event description. In other cases, the description will state if the event is a potluck or partly funded by the Club. ***Carpooling:*** For some events, the host may coordinate carpooling or other transportation for the attendees. When carpooling, be prepared with extra money for gas sharing and for any optional impromptu activities along the way. ***Membership Cancellation:*** Our group believes that all members should treat each other respectfully. These guidelines are based on that principle. Accordingly, the following are potential reasons for membership cancellation: · If you RSVP YES but don’t attend the actual event, the host may update your status for that event to No Show. If you are a frequent No Show or if you often drop out of events at the last minute, we reserve the right to cancel your membership. · Two or more incidents when a member fails to follow these guidelines also is a basis for membership cancellation. Club leadership will send a message with a reminder about the issue the first and second time. If the issue continues you will be removed from the group and may not be allowed to rejoin. · If you haven't visited the Meetup site for six months or more, we reserve the right to remove you from the Stanwood/Camano Ladies group. We can only assume it wasn't what you wanted.

Shamanism & Curanderismo with Paloma Cervantes DMV Area

Arlington, WA

Shamanism & Curanderismo with Paloma Cervantes DMV Area
Welcome to our Shamanism & Curanderismo DMV Area Group. You don't need to know anything; you just need to have an open heart to enjoy and learn from this group. We share our spiritual knowledge. What we find interesting, what works for us, what doesn't work for us, our mistakes and how can we apply all this spiritual knowledge to everyday life. In a few words, this group is about improving the quality of your life with ancient healing and spiritual techniques. \*Please take the time to read this page and learn what to expect from us. This group is about the “Spiritual Path”. Which spiritual path? “ANY”….. because SPIRITUALITY IS YOUR OWN PATH. Each person follows their own spiritual path. Spirituality is not a religion. IT IS WHAT YOU CARRY INSIDE YOUR SOUL. So, from the information and activities that we share in this group, please take what your heart feels is good for you. Follow your intuition and live life from a powerful, happy, loving, and peaceful position. We call ourselves “practitioners”. Why? Because we practice what we learn. Who is a practitioner? Anybody who does energy and spiritual work to help herself or himself, family, friends, our community, and Mother Earth. As practitioners, our goal is to find harmony and peace in our lives. We accomplish this by living a life that integrates everything that we know regarding body, mind, and spirit for achieving a "whole" life (complete). Besides our regular classes, workshops, and ceremonies we believe that one of the most important parts that helps bring harmony into ourselves and to create that "whole" or "complete" life is being in Nature or Mother Earth as we call her. You will find in our group many activities that introduce members to Mother Earth like hiking, camping, and kayaking. You can learn more about all this on our webpage Ixtoii Institute of Shamanism and Curanderismo: https://www.palomacervants.com/ We have different activities from different spiritual paths. Curanderismo or Mexican Shamanism is the spiritual path less known and also the most misunderstood. You will find in this group many different types of classes like herbology, meditation, Curanderismo, Shamanism, etc. THINGS YOU MAY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT CURANDERISMO • It is not a religion. It is a way of living life. It is compatible with any religion, as it helps to develop a higher spirituality and therefore a better experience with your own religious path. • Curanderismo is a general term to describe the ancient traditions of the Americas. Curanderismo has branched into different paths because of the size of our continent. The foundation is the same, but the way the ceremonies are performed may vary. There is no type of Curanderismo better than another. The best is the one that works for you. • It’s not black magic, nor the dark arts. The foundation of Curanderismo is love and respect for everything and everyone. • The Curanderismo that we practice is natural; it is not induced by any preparation. You will learn a series of exercises to reach other realities without the need for chemicals that may harm your body. • And of course, like anything else, it can be a double-edged sword. With these lessons, you can do good or harm. That’s on you, but as a recommendation think before doing anything. Think if it is for the benefit of the universe and never do anything if your mental state is not in peace. GROUP GUIDELINES: All these may sound harsh, and I think it is necessary: •This is not a dating group. If you harass or stalk somebody you will be banned from the group. Because our spiritual community is not so big, if you have in the past harassed somebody that we know you will be banned right away. •If you send inappropriate emails to people, you haven't met yet you will be banned from the group •If you don’t respect another member’s spiritual beliefs, you will be banned too. There is no better spirituality than others. It is what works for you. Please read lesson #1 below. •If you bring drama to the group, you will be banned too •If you demonstrate anti-social, inappropriate behavior guess what?...you will be banned from the group •This is not a spiritual counseling group either. If you want a private consultation or a healing ceremony, send me an email to hola@palomacervantes.com •If you are interested in an event, we suggest you read it on the computer because the phone app doesn't show everything. Also, read again the introduction or “about” page to know exactly what to expect. •If you reserve an event and you don’t show up and don’t let us know on time you will have 3 chances. After the 3rd time if you reserve you will be added to a waiting list. One day before the event after we close reservations we will let you know if there is a spot available for you. As a spiritual group, I think we need to show respect for the organizers who put their time and effort into organizing the events and to the members on the waiting list who wish to come to the events. Thank you for your understanding and Bienvenido (welcome) to our group! I created this group with love and I share my experience with love. Ixtoii Paloma Cervantes Mexican Shaman or Curandera Email: hola@palomacervantes.com \*Who is Ixtoii Paloma Cervantes?.......Here is a link to read about her, go to "Meet Paloma" or read this: "I am that kind of Curandera". Instructor and Practitioner: The Curanderismo Tradition of Mexico is the Ancient way of bringing the body, mind, emotions, and soul back into a state of balance. Customarily an elder Curandera(o) teaches the tradition in oral form. Ixtoii Paloma Cervantes is an elder, instructor, or “Maestra” of the Curanderismo Tradition and also a full-time Curandera. She was born and raised in Mexico into the tradition. She started working full-time as a Curandera in 1986. For medicinal plant or animal medicine guidance, please arrange for a private consultation to discuss your particular needs and expectations. By joining this group, you have read and accepted this agreement \*LEGAL NOTICE: It is illegal and unlawful for anyone to post any libelous, untrue, or misleading statement either on a website, social media site, or anywhere on the web either about me, my workshops, my products, or my company.
