Meetup of Kitsap Homeschoolers
The Meetup of Kitsap Homeschoolers strives to foster meaningful connections between our members that are based on trust, respect, shared values, and experiences within our group. We believe that these connections are essential to providing a sense of belonging and community, as well as allowing members to collaborate, share ideas and foster meaningful relationships. We are committed to providing resources and support to help our members form meaningful connections and build strong relationships. We are especially dedicated to helping new members feel connected and we try to reach out to them individually when they request membership in the group. Because we value online safety and meaningful connections, before approval to our Meetup group we will have you meet with one of our coordinators for a New Member Meeting. Please choose one of the two available dates by answering the last question. One of our coordinators will reach out to you to confirm the details.   \*\*There seems to be a glitch with the email reply function in Meetup; in order to avoid missed messages and delays in joining, please use the Meetup platform for replies and all communication.\*\*   If after six weeks we have not receiving a reply or communication, your request will be removed. However, you are always welcome to send another request and attend the New Member Meeting. Please direct message our coordinators if you have questions! Group Guidelines: 1- We are an inclusive community of homeschooling families from all walks of life and have come to homeschool for a variety or reasons and following a variety of methods. Respecting each other and all walks of life. 2- Let's continue to be one of the most polite fieldtrip groups! Remember to pay attention to tour guides, and act according to the rules of the establishment. 3- Please change your RSVP at least 48 hours in advance (unless there is a last minute sickness/emergency). Folks that organize events put forth a lot of time and energy into making an event great. 4- Events are not drop-off unless specified. 5-Please pay attention to event refund policies. Most times there is a deadline for fieldtrips and special events. 6-Dues - dues are $10 per family and are paid every 6 months in April and November. There is a minimum of 2 months free trial, and there are waivers allowed as we do not want to see anyone not join over dues. 7-Attendance - Participation is KEY!!!! Members are requested to attend at least one event every three months. Also, members are encouraged to host and organize events. When many members organize and host events it helps ensure that there are activities that members want in times and locations they can attend. It helps make the calendar full and members active. 8-Profile Picture - Please try to have a clear picture of you, the parent, it helps members to locate one another.

Girlfriends! 50+ Social Circle

Seattle, WA

Girlfriends! 50+ Social Circle
Girlfriends are a key to happiness for women of all ages, and as we get older, our friends can be key to good health as well. If you’d like to expand your girlfriend network, are 50 or older, and live in the greater Puget Sound area, you’re in the right place!  Single, married, in a relationship, lots of children or no children, we’d love for you to join and bring your positive, upbeat outlook to our gatherings. Collectively, we’ll create fun and interesting social events to connect and forge deeper friendships with each other, as well as support each other with kindness and compassion. As members, we host and determine our scheduled events. Since our own members host events of their choosing, the majority of events take place throughout the Puget Sound area. We sometimes have adventures outside of the greater Seattle area, for example, snowshoeing in the Cascades or a day trip to ???. A large majority of our events are planned in advanced, although spontaneous events are also welcomed. It’s all up to you! **= = = Please carefully read our guidelines = = =** **(***especially before sending a request to join***)**  **COVID POLICY (Spring 2022 edition): After 2+ years we've learned to adapt easily between the various protections implemented for multiple settings and communities. The best & easiest plan is to always have a mask & proof of vaccination with you for all events - for the foreseeable future.** **Our "official" COVID policy details are on the Message Board - please be sure to review periodically. Also, make sure you read any Event instructions from your Host before RSVP'ing and before leaving for event.** (https://www.meetup.com/GIRLFRIENDS-50-SocialCircle/messages/boards/ ) • 1) We request your profile picture to show a clearly identifiable recent head & shoulders shot of you, ideally with only you in the photo. Please avoid using a photo with anything that obscures your face, ex: a large brimmed hat, sunglasses, etc. We make this request so we are able to identify each other at gatherings. • 2) **Be an active participant.** It’s the only way to meet others and have fun together.  We ask that all members attend a minimum of one event every 4 months.       If there is an activity you want to do but are not seeing posted, message one of our current hosts & we can help you get the activity posted.  Or, better still, become a host!  Events can be as simple as everyone listening to an outdoor concert together, to a weekend away, or attending a virtual event together, and everything in between... and we do mean just about everything!   If something interests you, it’s very likely that others are interested as well! It’s easy to host, we promise. • 3) Out of respect to our members and businesses we visit, **be sure to keep your RSVP current**. We understand sometimes things can change our best made plans, just be sure to update your status to “Not Going” in a timely manner before the event. *PLEASE **CHECK THE MESSAGE BOARD** FOR MORE DETAILS ON USING THE RSVP SYSTEM.* • 4) Girlfriends 50+ is a woman’s social group, therefore please leave your business hat and promotions at home. • 5) Lastly, make sure your settings allow you to receive group & leadership notifications from the organizers. It is the only way for you to receive notification of events or changes to the group. To join us, click the button, answer a few simple questions, and tell us a little about yourself.  We look forward to seeing you soon! Thank you, Girlfriends 50+ Social Circle Members

Shy Dog Social Club of Bainbridge Island

Bainbridge Island, WA

Shy Dog Social Club of Bainbridge Island

Dog park overwhelming you and your baby? Meet up here with other shy, traumatized, or poorly socialized dogs of all ages for walks, play groups, etc.

In our culture of isolation, it's so important to help your dog get the social time they need. Many rescue dogs experience PTSD-like symptoms, with various triggers such as noise, movement, people, other dogs, and many others. Whether your dog needs to learn to be more comfortable around other dogs and people, or simply prefers a calmer, more controlled environment than the local dog park to hang out with friends, the goal of this Meetup is to form an ad hoc "pack" where more timid dogs can learn to feel safe again.

Legalese to protect us all :
UPON ATTENDING ANY LISTED EVENT, OR BY USING ANY INFORMATION SHARED WITHIN THE GROUP, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND AND ABIDE BY THIS AGREEMENT AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO THESE TERMS, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY CEASE USE OF ANY OF THE MEETUP SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THIS GROUP.
DISCLOSURE, RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS, AND INDEMNITY: I wish to participate in activities offered by The Shy Dog Social Club of Bainbridge Island and its organizers, as presented on the Meetup.com website or otherwise. I understand that the group, individual organizers or participants organize or sponsor a variety of group activities specifically planned to safely socialize dogs which are known to demonstrate underdeveloped emotional regulation, typically anxiety and fear around other dogs.
I recognize that under these conditions, such activities may involve certain dangers and risks, including but not limited to serious injury to my dog or to myself. As a loyal Pack Member, I agree to help mitigate these possibilities by following these guidelines:
* Honestly and completely disclose the nature of my dog's shyness and/or reactivity to other Pack Members, both verbally upon meeting and by completing the Pack Member questions.
* Manage my dog (and our walking environment) appropriately, anticipating triggers and using feedback from other Pack Members about their own dogs
* Help my dog learn to feel safer in the world
* Use a muzzle if my dog may nip or bite when stressed. (They really help for socialization.)
I hereby release the Shy Dog Social Club of Bainbridge Island, its organizers, and members from any liability for injuries or other damages that I or my assigns may incur while attending and participating in any of our events.
