This group is open to all outdoor activities. Kayaking, backpacking, camping, hiking, cycling, snowshoeing!

This group is for adults over 30 that enjoy new experiences and meeting new people, from outdoor activities like hiking and ziplining to brew tasting and pub Trivia. We are all about having fun!!!!

We encourage members to schedule meetups; once an organizer approves the event it will be added to the calendar. Meetup has retired the "Meetup suggestion" feature.  This group has varied interests and most suggested Meetups become an event. This is not a dating group. There are members in every relationship stage within this group. If you are only looking to hook up this is not your group.

Be Safe
All organizers and members must take ownership over their safety, and must never put themselves or others in danger. We expect all organizers and members to be mindful of local laws when engaging with their Meetups.

Rules
1). Clear, recent photo of your face so we can find you at our events.
2). Must be at least 30 or older, many of our Meetups are in bars or have alcohol at the event.
3). User name should be first name, last initial ( Example John Q ). First name should be what you want people
to call you or know you by.
4). Keep RSVPs updated as much as possible. We understand plans change, but it is not fair to the organizer
of an event to expect members who don’t show up.
5). Attend a meetup at least once a quarter. Lurkers and squatters will be removed. Inactive members (no
visits to the site in 12 months, for example) will be removed, but feel free to rejoin if you have more time or
interest in the future unless removed permanently by the organizers for any reason.
6). You are responsible for ensuring you are physically or logistically able to attend and participate in a Meetup you RSVP for.
7). You are an adult and expected to act accordingly.
8). Treat people as you would want to be treated.
9). Save the Drama for your Mama

Are you a mom who is having trouble finding the right mom group near you?

Are you progressive, liberal, open-minded, sarcastic and/or hilarious? Have you found yourself with a tiny person (or persons), who you love more than anything, but your neighbor has a Donald Trump sign in their yard and it makes no sense?

Are you new to being a mom and/or new to staying at home after kicking ass at work? Do you want to make like-minded friends to talk to about being a mom but also to discuss politics, television, books, movies, US Weekly, and what cute things are at Target right now? Or are you just looking for a different group of people for interesting conversation/fun activities with the kids and without?

We get along with all sorts of people from all sorts of backgrounds, but full disclosure: most of us practice the religion of "don't be a jerk", get our news from NPR vs. Fox News, and worship at the altar of Trevor Noah/John Oliver/John Stewart/Stephen Colbert. If any of this makes you gag, this is probably not your scene.

Modern Moms activities are mostly geared toward the infant/toddler/preschooler crew. We meet up at playgrounds, indoor play spaces, museums, libraries, and anywhere else that sounds fun and has the potential to wear out our kids/induce them to nap. We also do some mom-only activities including mom's night out.

Note:

An active group is a rad group, so we require that all new members attend at least 2-3 events per month. The vast majority of our meetups are on weekdays, often in the morning.  Although many of us are stay at home moms, we also have several members who work outside the home with flexible or part time schedules. 

We want to be as straightforward as possible in letting you know what this group is about and not wasting anyone's time, so MMM might not be a good fit if:

-You don't want to hear people complain about 45
-You don't vaccinate your kids for any reason other than a legit medical issue.
-You would be horrified at the sight of a fellow mom enjoying an occasional mimosa at a play date.
-You would be outraged if you heard a mom refer to her kid as an asshole
-You are a judgy sanctimommy about any of the following issues: breastfeeding vs. formula, cloth diapers vs. disposable, feeding your kids fast food sometimes, screen time, or any of the other potentially hot-button parenting issues.

Please take some time to thoughtfully answer the profile questions so we can really get a sense of who you are.

Do you love to Game in Minecraft? This is the home of the Minecraft User Group. This group is created for anyone who loves play, share, and engage in minecraft. New users to very experienced users are encouraged to join. We meet in Seattle, WA (otherwise known as the beautiful Puget Sound or Pacific Northwest) to explore topics on learning minecraft to events that create a competitive landscape for minecraft challenges for individuals and teams. We also explore minecraft science, technology, and art projects to engage the community in useful technical skills that apply to real world.

This group is brought to you by the Gaming Bridges STEAM (GBS) team that focuses on creating safe communities that "make and create" (M&C) rather "search and destroy".  STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Our mission is the educate and promote on how community M&C gaming can reducing violence in communities by engaging in fun, safe group activities like gaming. Events held by the GBS project team promotes safe environments and a place for education.
