AT THIS TIME WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING PERSONS WHO HAVE BEEN INVITED BY THE ORGANIZER TO JOIN THE GROUP. We are a group of cyclists, retired from the work world, who love the sport and try to keep in good shape. We ride on roads and trails, like the Galloping Goose and the Lochside. We are focused on rides on Monday Mornings, in the 20-25km/hr average range. We also like to socialize, so coffee stops and visits to local pubs after rides are a key part of our outings. If that is something you are not interested in then this is not the group for you. This group is dedicated to building a sense of community and commitment. Riders are committed to showing up on a regular basis. This is NOT a group for people who only want to ride occasionally.

Hi! Welcome to this MeetUp page! I am a 200hr certified yoga teacher and a member of Yoga Alliance. Currently, my focus is teaching Restorative and Yin Yoga practices. My teaching spaces are in local parks from May until late September, weather dependant. I also offer private sessions in your choice of location and corporate events. Yin yoga is a practice that focuses on stretching your connective tissues and tendons. It is a restful feeling practice. It uses the water and earth elements, or cooling systems. In yin, you stay in postures for longer periods of time. A bit about me, I am a veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces. I am now medically retired and teach as a hobby for my own mental and physical wellbeing. I am a healer and a channeler. I also offer weekly guided meditations that are available for purchase up to six days after recording. Payments can be made in cash or etransfer. Are you someone brand new to Victoria or have just recently moved here in the last year or two and are trying to meet new people with similar interests? This is the group for you! Get to meet other new Victorians, discover new places and things to do in this city and region, and make new connections!  No matter your age group, from 18 to 85, as long as you're a recent Victoria resident, this group is for you!

We'll organize a lot of events and gatherings down the road, and we'll let members organize their own events as well. Some suggested events for this spring and summer include:

• Pub Nights: we'll pick a neighbourhood pub in Victoria and meet up as a group to say hi and socialize!

• Sightseeing tours to discover some of Victoria's amazing heritage and sights. Been to Craigdarroch Castle? Cattle Point? Strolled the flower garden at Government House? Walked the Gorge Trail? Let's do it as a group!

• Afternoon BBQs during the Summer - members agree to host 2-8 other members, BYOM (bring your own meat!). 

• Movie Nights: members host others for a night enjoying a movie and popcorn on your home's big screen! (or in the case of one member, a giant outdoor screen!)

• Social Sporting Events - how's your mini putt golf game? What about go karts? Play any beach volleyball? We'll get some events together!

• Plays and Theatre - meet as a group for a theater or play event, and as a group, we can get access to cheaper tickets and better seating choices!

• Pot Luck Dinners: members of the group can volunteer to host dinners for other members, from 2 to 10 people, or more if you can handle it!

This is a revival of a group that was created a few months ago, but had been let to expire by the previous organizer.

This group has been started as a means for golfers of all levels to get together to enjoy the game and is open to everybody. There will be different events posted that will be of interest to all levels of golfers but hopefully we can mix and mingle at times too as the newbies start to improve. Of course it is appreciated to have the more advanced players coming out to enjoy some time with the ones that are hoping to figure out this fun but at times challenging sport and have some fun while doing it! We play at all the local courses and travel to others occasionally. When signing up to this group, please put either your **first name and last name or at least an initial of your last name** so that we can credit your dues accordingly.  Since there is a cost for hosting this site we ask for **$10**. yearly dues from everyone**.**  **It's helpful if people will please bring this cash to me in an envelope with their name on it to their second event.**  This site is run on a volunteer basis and we appreciate everyone's cooperation and patience in continuing to make this one of the best meetup groups in Victoria!! This 25+ oriented skateboard groups goal is to create a social atmosphere of skateboard enthusiasts of any skill level, any kind of human (should we be inviting Aliens now too? 😝) Some of us may have skated a lot as teens and got caught up in adulthood and are making a skateboarding comeback. Some may be brand new to the sport. Some of us never stopped and keep on chugging. Let’s have fun and maybe we can even make some skate videos of each other. Or play pig. We will hit a skatepark every Saturday at 1pm starting August 19, 2023. (Unless it rains) We will collectively vote on which park to hit the following week. If you’re looking at this post and there is no other park specified, assume Vic West skatepark on Esquimalt rd. We will meet up at the south west corner of the skatepark every time so we know it’s this group. This is by donation. This covers the cost of posting on meetup and the dream would be to donate to under privileged kids to cover the cost of participating in skateboard camp and possibly provide new or used skateboards paid for from the collective donations or donate gear ourselves. This is absolutely not for profit, zero earnings directly from this group. It’s all about the love of skateboarding and passing that love down to future generations. I’m so very open to feedback and ideas.
