Anyone with a love, interest, hate or a hobby in/with Java or other JVM or similar languages... including; Scala, Ruby, J2EE, AKKA, Groovy, Clojure etc etc.

After a Covid related hiatus, we are back for fun games of ultimate frisbee! All are welcome! Whether you're completely new to the sport or an experienced player looking for casual pick-up games, we'd be delighted for you to join.

Ultimate frisbee is a fun and social sport and great cardio exercise following all these months of lockdown. Don't fear though, you don't need to be athletically gifted or in peak fitness to get involved, none of us are! And after training we often go to a local pub for a drink and a chat.

We play in Christchurch Meadows in Caversham, next to the tennis courts. Just a 15 minute walk from Reading Town Centre. Message us if you need directions.

We organise the games via Whatsapp, so our meetup usually looks dead/vacant, but the Wednesday and Sunday events are generally going ahead, weather permitting! If you're not on the Whatsapp group, just post to the meetup you want to attend or message one of the Organisers directly, and one of us will reply to add you.

There are some Covid track and trace forms to fill out and other protocols to follow so we would appreciate if you message before turning up. That said, all you need on the day is sportswear, trainers or football boots (the latter is necessary on wet ground), a bottle of water, some hand sanitiser, and some enthusiasm!

This meetup group is for all interested in playing friendly games of football in Reading and surrounding areas. We welcome you regardless of ability, age or gender! Football is the beautiful game and is a fantastic way to keep fit, make friends and have fun!

The games are organised with equal teams and played in a sporting manner. As organiser, I will book out a pitch at a local football venue and attendees pay an RSVP charge to cover their share of the cost. The payment is made through Paypal.

Mix Friends Club is a social club and welcomes All to meet new people, socialise and make new friends.

Our sports activities include playing sports like badminton, squash, lawn tennis, billiards, snooker, aerobics, cycling, cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, bicycling, walking, board  games, cards, poker, chess, skittles, kayaking, canoeing and many more.

Our social activities include night outs, eating outs, clubbing, pub nights, live music, cinema, theatre, cycling, bike rides, picnic and we welcome all ideas.

Creative ideas in all fields are well received like photography, music - ology,  graphic arts, cartooning, performing arts, galleries, museums, film and publishing. If you have skills, knowledge or keen interest, feel free to invite others to know, learn more and grow their knowledge with you.

Just get involved, give ideas and organise your own events as well. Also, you are welcome to bring any number of your friends along with you.

Don't just sit at home on your own; come out and have some fun.

Maidenhead Softball Club (MSC) is a mixed softball club based in Maidenhead and playing in the Windsor & Maidenhead Softball League. Formed in the late 90's from employees at a local technology firm the club has grown from a single team to a club with 3 mixed teams, one female team and 40 members ranging in age from 14 to over 50.

So if you are looking to get into a new, fun sporting activity. Softball is a fun social mixed team sport and can be played by anyone 14+. No experience necessary and no equipment required, Maidenhead Softball Club will provide the equipment and the coaching to help you get activity and enjoying Softball quickly.

What is softball?
Softball is a social and enjoyable sport that’s easy to learn and play, even for people who are not “athletes” or don’t have much experience of team sports – and the game offers particular opportunities for women.

It’s a lot like baseball in terms of the rules, but because the ball is pitched slowly to each batter (as the name implies!), it’s easy to hit the ball and succeed at the sport’s central skill. The fact that men and women play together in the same team and on an equal level gives the sport a social buzz, and most softball games are followed by sessions at the local pub!

Getting Involved
MSC runs weekly sessions on Friday evenings for anyone wishing to give the sport a go. The sessions vary in location and time depending on the season. During the Autumn and Winter it's at Newlands Girls School from 6pm, during Spring and Summer sessions run from 6:30pm at North Maidenhead Cricket Club.

This is a group to bring together solo travellers from all over UK (and beyond)  who want good company for their ski holidays. Many of our members are single but others have partners at home who do not ski. We usually have about 8  ski holidays , we aim to have a minimum of 30 guests on each trip but the maximum in Courchevel is always higher , that way you can always find ski buddies of your ability and apres buddies too! . Some holidays include lessons whilst others are guided & some have neither so you can choose the holiday that suits you best no matter what your ski ability is.

We also have summer beach club holidays including all water sports plus mountain biking tennis etc usually in June & September

Hello! Do you like Board Games or are curious about Board Games? We are are a friendly group of games enthusiasts that have been gathering in Farnborough since our Meetup debut in 2016. We are just restarting again after we had to temporarily close down due to the pandemic.

Currently we meet up every Thursday at the Monkey Puzzle Brewers Fayre from 7pm till close. Feel free to bring along any games you might want to play, we always like to try out new games. And don't worry if you are only just getting into the hobby, our core group always brings a good selection of games that we are happy to teach.

We are a very sociable group of people which often host additional gaming sessions at our homes or organise trips to board game conventions together.
