Men's gay/bi/trans/straight inclusive football in Manchester

Are you gay? Are you bi? Are you straight? Are you trans? We don't care!

Village Manchester Football Club is a gay and inclusive club that welcomes anyone who loves football - gay, bi or straight. We have players from every sexuality, race, nationality and age - our youngest player is 18 and our oldest well into his 50's. Currently all our members are male as FA rules means we can't play women - you are very welcome to attend training but we suggest you check out Manchester Laces FC for women's football.

Football training for new members:

Get in touch to find out about our welcome sessions for new players.

All training and most home games are at:

Trinity Sports Centre

Cambridge Street (pedestrians)

Boundary Lane (car park)

Behind Manchester University

M15 6HP

Brand new 3G (4G) pitch - no metal studs/blades and wear any sports/training gear.

We are looking for new players of all abilities. We split training into groups to cater for different skills.

Our first and second teams play in a local league on Saturday afternoons and our third and fourth teams on Sunday mornings. We also have a fifth team that plays friendlies. Having five teams means there's a place for you to play, whatever your ability on the pitch.

We take part in the national Gay Football Supporters' Network Cup, giving us weekends away throughout the UK.

We play against gay and straight teams, take part in national tournaments and organise an overseas trip most years (we've been to Rome, Paris, Miami, Stockholm, Hamburg, Budapest, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Barcelona to name a few).

We campaign to rid football of homophobia, but mostly we are about playing competitive football.

Get in touch now. It's free for you to try out, so what have you got to lose? There's an awful lot to gain: football, fitness and some of the best mates you'll ever have!

We don't care who you love, as long as you love football!

Muslim Females Meet N Greet

Manchester, 18

Muslim Females Meet N Greet
Hi/Asalaamu Alaykum lovelies 👸, I hope this you are well. My name is Alisha and this is a safe and welcoming place for Muslim girls of all ethnicities and backgrounds to could come together and share experiences, build healthy friendships and feel like they belong. I made a few changes to the group, namely changing the name to Muslim Females meet N Greet 🤗🥳! I officially gone all social media-fide and opened up a Muslim Females Meet N Greet account where you can get up-to-date on upcoming events, get notified, recommend ideas and see what we got up to in past events. As the new year approaches I'm hoping to build this platform with beautiful memories and be able to connect with you all in one place. Below is the link, go check it out and give it a follow ❤️ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/muslimfemalemeetngreet?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg== If the link doesn't work, search for Muslim Females Meet N Greet and you should be able to see it 😄 Rules for this community It is important that you confirm that you are attending these events by RVSPing on the meetup app. I also require a message via meetup app or Instagram ahead of the arranged meetup to ensure that you will be attending. If in the event you are not able to come please notify me 24 hours before and update your RVSP. If no update has been given then I will be expecting you at the event. If you don't turn up and RVSP shows you are attending and no update has been given from you via messaging (I will also be messaging individually to check your whereabouts) and this happens over 3 separate occasions I will have to remove you from the group. Please ensure you are kind, considerate and polite when you are meeting with us and communicating with others. I'm building a safe environment for Muslim girls to meet and have a wonderful time. If kindness is not shown warnings will be given privately and subsequently if the behaviour continues it will lead to being removed from the group. If an event is requires payment please ensure you make a payment the same time you RSVP. This is also the same for booking onto a planned event, for example, booking tickets to a theatre. Please do this as soon as you decide to attend as bookings are taken up quickly and you are not guaranteed a place if you haven't booked. A message from me It’s difficult to find a group of people with similar values and mindsets especially as a Muslim woman today. It can be a real struggle if you are new to a place or feel out of place in the communities you are already a part of, so it is a great opportunity to build wholesome relationships or just to belong in a supportive social circle. Also, be organising trips abroad across Europe 🇪🇺 for short weekend breaks and short stays around UK 🇬🇧. Alongside, spa trips, restaurants meals, theartes, cinemas and brunches etc. Even if you are not a Muslim but feel that this would be a great community to be a part of then please do not hesitate to join! I am happy to take any feedback and suggestion on events and work we can do e.g. charity work, reading club, sports etc. Looking forward to having you join and seeing you at our next meetup event! Hello there! We'd like to welcome you to our FREE weekly Sahaja Yoga meditation meetings, hosted by Sandhya, Francois, Aarti, Sandeep, Adrian, Delia and friends - resuming later this year. With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. We are all volunteers of a Charity organisation and have many years of experience in offering free Sahaja Yoga Meditation classes. All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most **transformative energy** of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us **restore balance and harmony** within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for. The classes are designed to help those attending get into a genuine meditative state, which can be felt tangibly. It is **quite effortless and spontaneous**. The free classes feature introductory talks, video's, practical workshops and general question and answer opportunities, making them perfect for seekers trying to establish a **state of yoga**, and they are available across London most evenings and throughout the UK. The idea is that you don't do yoga - you Achieve Yoga! Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honored technique. It helps those who enjoy it, **reduce stress and increase wellness and health holistically.** It brings better focus and helps people become more centered and better balanced. Anyone can do it. Founded by Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a world wide movement for **peace and self awakening**. All the meetings and classes are free of any charge. Each week we go through **simple meditation techniques**, often with guided meditations to help **re**duce stress and achieve the peace of true meditation. We share tips on how to help stay in balance during the day and how to meditate at home. The meditation is based on connecting with the inner chakras (energy centres) and **balancing the subtle body**. The tradition and aims of meditation are explained which in essence is to be in the present with **no mental activity or thoughts** about the past or the future. Occasionally there are 1 day retreats to help those interested, deepen their individual experience and hear advice and tips from those who have been practicing for some time. It’s ultimately all about getting into ‘thoughtless awareness’, a **natural state** of being. 10 Reasons to try-out Sahaja Yoga Meditation in Manchester in 2024 **It’s easy.** You don’t have to spend years living in the mountains to achieve enlightenment. You don’t have to give up anything or spend weeks in silence. You don’t have to learn mantras or wear special clothes or even try to clear my mind. The meditation simply happens spontaneously. The classes are easy and fun, and as long as you keep up your daily ten minutes of meditation you find you are able to achieve a deep and peaceful meditation on a regular basis. **It’s free.** You don’t pay for your meditation. There are no catches, and there are no hidden expenses. If you missed attending classes one week, it doesn’t matter. You just picked up the classes again when you could manage it. It is simply the generosity of spirit of other Sahaja Yoga meditation practitioners that allows Sahaja Yoga to be taught to whomever desires it, at no cost. **You can see results.** You feel relaxed and you feel a deep sense of calm. Now you can also feel your chakras (energy centres) and through the meditation techniques learnt along the way you can understand the vibrations of your own energy centres. If you feel unwell you meditate and use the techniques you’ve learnt to heal your chakras, and you can then feel the centres clearing, and as a consequence your health improves. **It’s all-inclusive.** All the major religions and their core teachings are acknowledged and respected in Sahaja Yoga. No one’s spiritual journey is right or wrong. And through meditation the wisdom of all the great gurus and saints is easily revealed and understood. In fact, you’ll find that since you’ve been meditating you’ll come to understand and appreciate the teachings of great teachers such as Lao Tse, Buddha and Mohammed. **You’re your own boss.** You meditate and introspect at your own pace. You don’t have to keep up with others, or feel pressured into doing things you’re not comfortable with. You are your own teacher, your own guru, your own master. This technique of meditation empowers you and enables you to help yourself. You don’t have to rely on anybody else. Of course, there are many people who practice Sahaja Yoga Meditation who can teach you a great deal about the yoga & meditation and its various techniques. However, all that you need is ultimately within you. **It’s everywhere.** Sahaja Yoga is practiced in almost every country in the world. So, no matter where you travel you can always locate a local Sahaja Yoga Meditation programme that you can attend. Whenever you get the chance, and no matter where you are, You try to link up with other Sahaja Yoga practitioners and enjoy a collective meditation. (Meditating with others is a much deeper and more powerful experience than meditating alone.) **It’s portable.** You don’t need to take anything with you to meditate: no mats, no potions, no special clothing or books. You can meditate anywhere – in a quiet room or on a noisy bus; at the beach or watching a movie. Thoughtless awareness (the state of meditation) is easy to achieve if you keep meditating daily, and it can be achieved in almost any situation. **It makes sense.** Everything you’ll learn will make sense. There is a lot of common sense in Sahaja Yogameditation, and even though not everything was known to you (for example, the chakras and their respective qualities), once you have a chance to learn more about the meditation, it feels very natural and comfortable. **Everybody does it.** When you begin a hobby or join a new group, you often find that there are particular types of people who are in the group with you. For example, some groups attract younger people, others older folk; some groups have a lot of people who are wealthy, or people who live in a certain part of town. In Sahaja Yoga you will find people from every walk of life, from every demographic – male and female, young and old, rich and poor, every shape, size and colour, with varying interests, languages and beliefs. You don’t have to be a certain type of person to do Sahaja Yoga meditation. It is one of those rarities: something for everybody. **You feel good.** Without fail, every time you sit down to meditate you feel better. Whether you manage to have a deep meditation or not makes no difference, and as a consequence your family and friends are reaping the benefits. **So there you have it......ten reasons......** Pop along to a Free Sahaja Yoga Meditation weekly Meeting

Greater Manchester Rock Climbing

Manchester, 18

Greater Manchester Rock Climbing
**So, you're looking for a new active hobby to get involved in and you're not sure where to start. Or perhaps you're already an avid rock climber, dancing across the walls with grace and are simply looking for others with whom to share the experience.** Whatever your reason, and whatever your level,[ Greater Manchester Rock Climbing ](http://www.meetup.com/Greater-Manchester-Rock-Climbing/)is here to provide you with a chance to get active, meet new people, and have some fun! Currently, the venue for the group will be [Rock Over Climbing](http://www.rockoverclimbing.co.uk/) **in Manchester**, one of the North West's premier world class bouldering centres. The reason for this is that it's central to Manchester so highly accessible for all members, it provides excellent climbing routes for all levels and we have established an excellent relationship with the staff who work there. At each Meetup, we will introduce ourselves, and make sure you feel welcome and at ease, especially if this is your first time climbing! **Beginners are usually split up into small groups and assigned to an experienced climber to ensure that we maximise climb time for your first time.** We usually climb for two hours, although if there is a large amount of us, we will more than likely split into smaller groups and spread out across the centre, so that we all get a good amount of climbing time. Once beginners are comfortable with what they have learnt, it is expected that you will progress to climb with our more experienced members. However, members are never forced to climb with a particular group and are always welcome to remain with beginners until they feel comfortable to move on. **After the climb, we often go for a post-climb meal and/or drink** depending on who is available, and this provides everyone with a great opportunity to discuss the routes they've done with other climbers, as well as socialise in an informal setting. We encourage ALL new members to attend this if they can as it gives you an excellent opportunity to get to know more of our members in a social setting and provides a familiar face the next time you attend. **Prices for first time climbers at Rock Over are £13 plus £3 shoe hire for a total cost of £16. (Concession £12 and £3 for NHS/Students)** **HOWEVER...** If after your first session you wish to become a regular member of our group and believe you will be attending our sessions throughout the year, **you can pay an optional fee of £10** which will provide you with your own Official Membership, as well as allow you to access the following benefits at Rock Over Climbing: **£8.50 climb with £1 shoe/chalk hire. Any day. Any time. This provides you with a substantial reduction on entry fee and shoe hire for 12 months from your date of purchase, meaning if you plan to climb more than twice in 12 months, you'll save more money in the long run!** Membership sign up is available on **gmrockclimbing.com** but payment will be handled by the [Group Organiser ](http://www.meetup.com/Greater-Manchester-Rock-Climbing/members/56727072/)to every session, so speak to them and *not* Rock Over staff. You will be able to access this offer **for 12 months from the day you purchase your membership**, at which point you will have to purchase a new annual pass if you wish to continue to access the deal. To access the above benefits, please speak to an organiser (usually Glenn) who will inform staff of your sign up, but if you have any issues getting in with membership, please show staff the gmrockclimbing pass so that they can see you are a member with us. If you have **any questions** about the group, or any suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us on the Meetup app. **Even if it is just to say hello or inform me that you're looking forward to the next event! However, I suggest new members to look at the event details for our Sunday climb as this answers many questions that you may have.** You can also check our[ FAQ's page ](http://www.meetup.com/Greater-Manchester-Rock-Climbing/files/)which may answer some of your initial questions. :) We look forward to seeing you at the next climb! Glenn, Tom, Lucia, Fes, Nat, Ragha, Alex, and Kim. **DISCLAIMER: By joining Greater Manchester Rock Climbing Meetup Group you agree to take full responsibility for your own actions when taking part in our hosted events and also when climbing on the walls. Any injury that you sustain as a result of taking part in one of our events is your own responsibility. Greater Manchester Rock Climbing Meetup takes no responsibilities for any injuries or accidents that occur in this manner.** Please note: Rock Over have the right to withdraw from the membership offer at any time, however unlikely. Your membership with us will still be in place but there may be a period where no offers are active with rock climbing organisations.
