Thornbury Pickleball Group Novices

Thornbury, E6

Thornbury Pickleball Group Novices
The novices club is a club for people with little or no experience in Pickleball. We are currently seeing a high level of interest and are operating a waitlist to join. All prospective members who are new or newish to the game must complete an introduction session whereby we go through the basic rules, strokes and positioning for an hour and then play for an hour. This session costs Ā£9 to include paddle hire. These are usually at the weekend and subject to our and court availability. If you are an experienced player i.e. been playing regularly at another club for at least 6 months you may not need to attend the introduction session. Once this is complete you would be added to the waitlist. All events will take place in Thornbury so people from this locality or its surroundings will be given preference. All ages welcome (over 18's).Ā  No experience necessary as we offer tuition re the rules and how to play. It is easy to pick up the basics. Ā We welcome players of all abilities. Sessions are Ā£5.50 per two hour session for members and Ā£7.50 for non-members for evening and weekend sessions.Ā  Ā£4.50 per two hour session for members and Ā£5.50 per two hour session to non members for off peak sessions (daytime). Paddles are available for hire at Ā£1 per session from the club.Ā  Balls are provided. By joining this Meetup group you are not actually joining the Thornbury Pickleball Club to do that you need to attend a number of sessions, complete a membership form and pay a fee - this is subject to availability of spaces at the club Please ensure you wear sports kit with non marking shoes. If you cant come after booking please send us a private message to advise us and remove yourself from the event. If you cancel within 48 hours of the event you will be expected to still pay as we have comitted to the courts by then and uneven numbers reduces the value of the event for others. We are a friendly bunch and we hope you will try out this new sport which is a lot of fun.

Mountain Biking Bristol

Bristol, B7

Mountain Biking Bristol

A group intended to be a meeting point for riders who already have some experience, reasonable fitness and basic technical skills besides love for the sport as well as meeting others of similar interests.

Riding will happen more often around Ashton Court/ Leigh Woods but also in South Wales, Forest of Dean, North Wales and more.

Riders of different levels of fitness are welcome but there will be no 'family' rides, only grades BLUE and ABOVE (see bellow) will be organised. Our rides are not suitable for children!

We follow the grading system suggested by the mountain biking industry as described by the following sites:

http://www.mbwales.com/en/content/cms/Trail_Search/Trail_Grading/Trail_Grading.aspx

https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/knowledge/training/article/izn20130802-Mountain-bike-trail-centre-grades-0

In our own words:

ā€¢ Blue -  Regular pace with time to catch breath, challenging but guaranteed to raise a smile.

ā€¢ Red - Steady pace, technical elements, reasonable distance/ duration.

ā€¢ Black - Fast paced and very technical, and or long distance.

Important: this group hasn't got any intention of being or acting as a cycling club. It is simply a meeting place for people who want to ride in the company of other cyclists. Therefore it is important to understand that all riders must be responsible for their own health, safety and well being as well as being prepared for dealing with common situations typical of the activity like change in weather, mechanical problems, flat tyres, etc.Mountain Biking is a hard sport not free of risk  and this group cannot be deemed responsible for the exacerbation of any medical condition as well as any crash or accidents that might occur during our rides.

ā¤ā€šŸ”„Bristol Positive Vibes & Social Events (18 to 40)ā¤ā€šŸ”„
I have created this group with the intent to organise social events where people can mingle and get to know each other in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I will offer a diverse range of events to ensure everyone is given the opportunity to participate in something that they really enjoy doing so be prepared for a proper pub crawl or a night out at the club, gigs, drink and chat gatherings in the afternoon, walks with some great scenery, picnics in the park, barbeques, sport activities and more. Simply come along and make new friendships in a relaxed group where individuals from all countries of our beautiful planet can share their experiences and hopefully create a bond with one another which can then lead to even greater adventures and will open your world to new possibilities. When people come together magic happens, I have personally seen this happen in my life countless times so if you are a bit shy or introvert I would strongly encourage you to come out of your comfort zone and join this group as you may make some truly nice and unexpected acquaintances. This is a public group however in order to become a member you will be required to be aged between 18 and 40 and ideally have a profile picture which shows your face so that I know who you are and I can greet you warmly when you turn up at the event. Any aggressive behaviour as well as any extreme views that may make any participants or myself uncomfortable will be deemed as unacceptable. The individual will be banned on the spot and reported to MeetUp. I look forward to having great fun with you all šŸ™Œ DISCLAIMER: The groupā€™s host/organiser will not be held responsible for any loss, injury, damage or anything of negative nature occurred as a result of the groupā€™s activity and events.
